🌹A or B?🌹

Both men stepped out of the train, the icy wind biting at their soft skin. Their hearts clenched at the sight before them. The sight they had tried so hard to rid their minds of.

Army camp.

"Get in line!"
A harsh, rough voice of the general pierces through the air. The men and women stand in separate lines. Jimin and Jungkook stay as close to each other as possible, for they found solace in each other alone.

The general walks past the men's line, scanning each one of them till he stops at Jungkook.
"Good to see you here, Jeon."
Jungkook smiles a little, bowing 90° and Jimin does the same.

Almost every official ranking officer in the army knew of Jungkook's father. He was a legend in many ways, and was admired by hundreds of soldiers and upcoming generals.

His death was tragic. Being captured by the North Koreans was no joke to laugh at. Once someone was caught, they would be tortured to death, or that's what everyone assumed because no soldier that was captured ever made it back.

It had been 18 years since his death, and his name was added to the pilgrimage of fallen soldiers and generals situated at the front of the military center in Seoul.

Jungkook overheard what the people at desks were handing out to the soldiers, and he perks up, turning around to Jimin.
"Jimin. They're deciding on sections."
He whispers, and Jimin's eyes widen a little.
"O-oh. I hope we get the same one, I-i want to be with you."

Jungkook chuckles, crossing his fingers and Jimin does the same. Even though Jimin was older than him, Jungkook could see that he was more of a lost puppy that needed guidance.

Jungkook's turn came, and the woman at the desk handed him a document. He waits for Jimin to get his, and the pair walk to a corner where there weren't many people.

"Should we open them at the same time?"
Jimin asks softly, his large eyes twinkling in anxiety and excitement.
"Ok. 3,2,1. Go."
The pair open their documents and glide their fingers down to the specification of their section.

"What's yours?"
Jimin asks, his plump bottom lip disappeared between his teeth. Jungkook replies with a wavering exhale.
"Section A."
Jimin stares at him for a moment, before looking through his document again.

From the look in his eyes, Jungkook knew. Jimin runs a frustrated hand through his hair.
"B. I'm in Section B."
The pair stand silently in their corner, not knowing what to say or do.

"Jimin, I... We'll still get to meet at lunch?"
Jungkook says, patting his arm for encouragement.
"That's not what I'm bothered about."
"Then what is it?"
"When the time comes for the final fucking war, we won't be together. We'll be in different troops, different locations and won't know shit about what's happening to each other."

The fact hits Jungkook like a blazing truck and he clenches his fists, hitting the wall once, massaging his sore hand after.

He takes Jimin's hand in his, pulling him towards him. The two men collide in a tightly embracing hug.
"No matter what happens, we'll make it. We have to."
Jungkook says in a low voice, as Jimin nods placing a light kiss on Jungkook's temple before pulling away.

"Don't die."
Jimin says with a small smile, and Jungkook smiles back.
"You too."
They're interrupted by a loud voice.
"What are you two doing here alone? This isn't highschool, get your ass back to your camps!!"

The two men scurry away with bright red faces, giving each other one last look before walking seperate paths to their own camps.

No matter what happens, we'll make it. We have to.
