I walked out feeling happy and content. Earlier, I was worried that may be Arjun will choose her presentation considering she is more experienced than me but when my presentation was projected on the screen, I couldn't help but smile in satisfaction. Even though finally, my hardwork paid off, there is a small part of me that wanted Arjun to know what all actually happened before and how I had to work on the presentation again because of her.

I noticed Karan walking just ahead of me, I decided to talk to him and sprinted towards him.

"Karan, We need to talk!" I said in a serious tone. Yes! I really wanted to know what's wrong with this guy! He has been all distant since past two days and I don't know what's all this is about.

"Hey Meghna! Congrats, the presentation was great!" He said giving me a genuine yet nervous smile.

"Thanks! well, can we talk....Now?" I asked him still carrying my serious facade.

"Now? I am kinda..busy right..." He said dodging the topic but I interrupted him in between.

"Cafeteria?" I said in a suggestive tone to which he nodded, his eyes filled with amusement.

"Two coffees" I ordered for both of us before settling down at our usual spot.

"So, what is all this is about?" I asked Karan as I sipped on my coffee.

"Huh? What are you umm..talking about?" He asked me looking elsewhere but me.

"Really?" I said giving him a questioning look.

"What?" He said feigning confusion.

"Okay! I will come straight to the point!" I stated and continued after taking a deep breath.

"Why are you avoiding me?" I asked him looking straight into his eyes.

"What are you saying? I am not avoidi--" He said but I cut him off in between.

"Don't deny it Karan! I know, you have been acting distant all the time" I said in a serious tone.

"I was just busy, that's it" He said taking a sip from his coffee.

"Oh! So, you were busy that you couldn't talk to me but you had enough time to talk to Riya?" I asked raising my eyebrows at him.

"um...I..I..." He stuttered while I smirked at him.

"What Karan, cat got your tongue?" I asked him in a teasing manner.

I waited for him to give me some response but he seems to be lost in his own thoughts.

"Karan, what happened? Did I do something wrong?" I asked him a bit worried but he still didn't respond.

"You know, you can tell me right? I am your friend!" I said placing my hand on his.

"Exactly! I am your​ friend too. Isn't it?" He said lifting his head to look at me.

"Yeah...But..." I trailed off utterly confused about where this conversation is leading to.

"No, I am not your friend because you didn't even bother telling me what all happened since last two days" he said and my eyes widened in surprise.

How did he got to know about this?

Ugh Riya!!

"No Karan! I just didn't.." I started to explain him but he raised his hand indicating me to stop.

"Let me finish first" he stated in a serious tone which I had never heard from him till now. I understood that he was serious about this and kept mum.

"You just didn't want to cause any difference between us right?" He said and I nodded my head affirmatively.

"you were wrong Meghna! Why do you think that this will bring any difference between us? May be I would just tell him what all exactly happened and tell him that he was wrong scolding you for the things you are not even responsible!" he stated all in one go.

"Stupid Riya!" I muttered under my breath mentally scolding her for spilling everything to Karan. I looked up when I heard Karan chuckle.

"No! It's not Riya. She haven't told me anything about it and when we talked earlier in the afternoon, even she asked me why I have been all distant, that's it!" he said with a small smile playing on his lips.

"Oh!" Was all I could reply.

If Riya haven't told him anything then how come he got to know about all these?

May be Arjun might have told him?

I don't think so! Said my heart.

Yeah! Then there is only one way he might have got to know about this...

"Don't tell me you eavesdropped us!" I narrowed my eyes at him. He gave me a sheepish smile and I instantly know that he listened to our conversation secretly.

"Karan, how could you?" I asked him maintaining a serious face.

"May be, I was just passing by and heard you both talking which piqued my interest" he stated shrugging his shoulders. I playfully hitted his arm.

"Don't tell me, you have​ been doing this since beginning" I said with a silly smile on my face.

"Oh c'mon, it was just a coincidence. I was not at all planning on eavesdropping on you guys because I know you will tell me everything" he said with a genuine smile that tugged my heart with guilt.

"I am sorry Karan" I said, my voice laced with guilt.

"It's okay but don't ever forget that I am there for you guys no matter what!" He said smiling at me.

"I am happy to have you in my life and I am really very sorry" I said holding my ears and making a puppy face. He laughed at my expression and instantly a huge grin settled on my face.

"Enough of sorry's now" he said and I smiled at him. I turned around when I heard Riya calling me, walking swiftly towards us.

A wicked smile traced my lips as soon as an idea flashed in my mind. I turned towards Karan and he winked at me.

Looks like we both have same plan in our minds.

I signalled him to start acting and we both kept sour expressions on our faces.

"This is too much Karan! I have been apologizing you for so long but you won't listen to me at all" I raised my voice audible enough for Riya to hear.

"What? You didn't even bother to tell me what all happened and you expect me to be normal with you! Do you know how much hurt I was!" He said feigning anger and hurt.

He is seriously a very good actor!

"I said I was sorry right!" I yelled at him.

"Guys! What's happening?" Riya said confused about our behaviour.

"Thank god Riya! You have come, she is eating me alive since half an hour" Karan said with an over dramatic look on his face. I narrowed my eyes at him. He immediately shifted his eyes from me.

"What? What did you say just now?" I raised my voice at him.

"Meghna! Stop it! Everyone are looking at us" Riya said in a worried tone and that's when I noticed few people looking at us.

Well, time to end this drama!

"Yeah! I will not talk at all, that's what you want right" I said winking at Karan when Riya was looking at him.

"Meghna! I didn't mean that way" Riya said her voice laced with worry.

"Okay! Don't talk that would be better" Karan butted in. I huffed in response.

"Karan, please!" Riya requested him and Karan started laughing looking at her expression.

Way to ruin it! Idiot!

Riya turned to look at me and I joined Karan laughing along with him.

"So, you both were acting all along?" Riya said pouting. We continued to laugh and Riya too joined us soon.

Later, all three of us spent rest of the time talking and finally decided to call it a day.

Next day

I walked inside our office building wishing good morning to people I know and waited for the elevator to reach our floor. I could hear some people gossiping as I impatiently waited for it to descend. I casually turned my head to look outside towards the entrance and that's when I saw him.

He walked confidently towards us and I couldn't help but stare at him. He seemed to notice me as his eyes met mine and his very own charming smile found its way on his lips making him look much more younger and handsome. A small smile graced my lips but I averted my gaze from him as soon as I heard the elevator ding. I entered inside and stood their silently wishing that this ride would come to an end soon.

I could feel his eyes on my every move as I squirmed under his gaze. There were some people around us but he didn't seem to mind.

Now what is it with this staring?

Luckily, the elevator reached our floor as I sighed in relief. I walked out and swiftly reached my cubicle. I continued to work for sometime, had lunch with Riya and Karan. It felt good to be back to normal. Even it was only for few days it didn't felt right for last two days.

"umm...So, Are you really going to let go...of your feelings for Him?" Karan asked with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

"Karan, I already told you that's better for all of us. So, please don't ask me about it again and again" I sighed and continued to have my lunch.

"But how can you be so sure that this is the right thing to do?" Riya voiced out her thoughts. I saw Karan nodding at her. They both kept looking at me for an answer but I just couldn't bring myself to repeat the same thing again and again.

"I somehow know that this won't work out anymore and it's not like he has some feelings for me" I said and muttered the last part under my breath hoping they wouldn't hear it.

"Meghna! How many times have I told you that he has definitely got feelings for you and you have to understand from his side too. He has been through certain things which made him this way. Just give sometime and I assure you things will get settled" Karan said in a sincere tone.

"What actually happened Karan?" I asked him wondering what might have happened that Arjun stopped expressing his feelings.

"I am sorry but that's not my place to tell but you will get to know when the right time comes" Karan said passing me a small smile. I nodded at him and we later conversed on lighter topics.

I continued to work slowly as there was not much work to do. karan's words kept ringing in my mind and I was in a dilemma about my feelings for Arjun. I didn't understand whether to take stand on my new decision or to give him one more chance. I heard someone calling me breaking my reverie. It was Meenu, she told me that Arjun wanted to meet me.

I walked towards Arjun's cabin with lot of thoughts running in my mind. I didn't understand what he wanted to talk now.

Is it something about work or something else?

The rational part of me wanted it to be the former one but somewhere deep inside my heart a part of me wanted it to be the latter one.

I took a deep breath and knocked on his cabin but didn't hear any response. So, I gently twisted the door knob and peeked inside.

Much to my dismay, I saw Tina talking to Arjun. I rolled my eyes as I entered inside.

Why does she always have to be there in between me and Arjun?

"Please let me explain Arjun, it isn't what you are assuming it to be.." Tina said in a pleading tone.

"Oh! So I am assuming now, Great! Just great! Anyways, I don't have enough time for all your stupid explanations Miss. Mehra" Arjun said his voice stern and cold.

"Please Arjun" Tina pleaded him once again but Arjun seems like he wouldn't budge anytime soon.

What is all this is about?

"I didn't expect this coming from you Miss.Mehra" Arjun stated not bothering her plea.

They both didn't seem to notice me so I cleared my throat announcing my presence.

"Meghna, you came" he said giving me a smile and I nodded at him moving a bit forward to stand in front of him.

"So, Miss. Mehra I want you to apologize to Meghna for what you have done!" Arjun stated in a business tone.

Apologize to me? Did Arjun got to know about what she has done to my presentation?

"Arjun!" Tina whined at him but he didn't even bother to look at her.

"Miss. Mehra, I already told you I don't have time for all these. So, Apologize NOW!" He said his tone filled with irritation.

"I am...I am sorry" Tina said casting her eyes downwards.

"Good! I am letting you go this time because your brother is a good friend of mine and make sure not to repeat this again as next time an apology won't suffice" Arjun said and dismissed her. She rushed outside as I stood rooted to my place not knowing what to do next. I waited for him to say something but when he didn't I finally concluded that it was time for me to leave so I turned around to walk out but stopped dead on my tracks when I heard him say my name.

"Meghna" Arjun said in his rich, deep voice. My heart tugged at the way he said my name. I slowly turned around to face him.

"Meghna, I am sorry!" Arjun said pinching the bridge of his nose. I just stood there looking down not knowing what else to do.

"I shouldn't have said all those things to you without actually knowing everything. I am really very sorry if my words or actions hurt you in any manner" he stated with utmost sincerity in his voice which made me glance at him once. The sincerity in his voice is reflected in his eyes. I felt myself drowning into those black pools yet again as usual.

"Meghna, say something" Arjun said with a hint of nervousness in his voice breaking my trance.

"It's okay sir" I said and walked out feeling a whirlwind of emotions within me.

After his apology, Arjun left me utterly confused about what I should do next.

Why Arjun? Why now?

Arjun made Tina apologize Meghna and he also apologized! Well, I am not angry with him anymore. I mean, how can anyone be angry with someone like him!! 😉😋😍
Anyways, so any suggestions what Meghna should do next?

Btw, have you guys watched Baahubali-2? If not go watch it definitely as it is a visual treat that one shouldn't miss. I already watched it three times even though I had xamz. Well, what can I say I love watching movies! 😉😋
