I am reallllyyyy veryyyy sorrryyy for updating this chapter late but plz try to understand that I have lot of things to deal with in my life outside wattpad.

I had to finish my project work and do submissions and all, I am also having a small health issue these days so pls kindly excuse me for the late updates!! 😌😌

I am also having xamz in coming few days and I need to atleast start studying for my semester exams now but I surely promise you guys to give you guys superrrr longggg and superrrr fastttt updates once I am done with my xamz!! So pls bear with me till May 2nd week. 😅😅

Karan (Did any one expect his Pov?)

I had finished my work for the day and checked the time to see that there is for about a half an hour more left till my office time ends. So, I decided to check upon what my girlfriend's are upto. Oh! Don't get me wrong, I meant that, girlfriend's as in friends who are girls! I started walking towards Meghna's cabin, that's when I heard someone sniffling.

Is someone crying?

"It's okay yaar, calm down" I heard Riya's voice laced with concern.

What's going on?

"But I promise that I will make sure to teach that bloody b..woman a lesson, how dare she?" Riya yelled in anger. Who was she talking about??

"But Promise me one thing that you are not going to tell about this to Karan!" I heard Meghna's words which made me dead on my tracks.

I know it's wrong to eavesdrop some others conversation but I had a sudden urge to quench the thirst of my curiosity. I wanted to know what Meghna wants to hide from me.

"But why?" Riya asked making my curiosity reach its peaks.

"Because I don't want to bring up something that would cause any difference between both of them" Meghna said in a weak tone.

"Them?" Huh?

"Arjun and Karan. As far as I know Karan, he would definitely talk to Arjun about this once he gets to know about it" Meghna spoke in a low tone. What was she talking about??

"So, you are going to make the presentation again?" I heard Riya asking Meghna.

As far I know she already did the presentation yesterday itself. Why does she have to do it again?

"Oh..So..You are gonna get another chance to impress Mr.Handsome?" Riya said with a hint of teasing in her voice. I am sure she must be wiggling her eyebrows at Meghna.

"What? Why?" Riya asked her after sometime. I didn't hear anything from Meghna, may be she just nodded her head.

"I will be doing this presentation just as a part of my work and nothing else, especially not to impress anyone" Meghna said yet again her voice low. Is she the one crying, but why would she?

"Ahaan...You want me to believe that?" Riya asked her. Exactly!!

"Yes, whether you accept it or not, my feelings towards him are one of the reasons why all this happened in first place, else Tina would not have done anything like this. So..." My ears perked up by the mention of Tina's name.

What has she done now?

But why Meghna hasn't told me about it anytime? Is this what she wants to hide?

"So?" I heard Riya asking Meghna in a concerned​ tone.

"I decided to stay aw...away from him" Meghna said stammering in between.

Is she talking about Arjun? What?

"What? Meghna! Just because someone did something stupid, you are planning to let go of your feelings?" Riya said, for which I felt myself nodding my head. Now I am clear that they are talking about Arjun!

"I think that's is good for all three of us especially me" Meghna said , I shook my head. What's wrong with her?

"But..." Riya started talking but Meghna cut her off in between and continued, I realised that I have been standing here for about five minutes now and checked my surroundings to make sure nobody is around here. Luckily, I found no one and sighed in relief.

"Please Riya, I don't want to talk about this anymore" Meghna said as I decided that it would be best for me to enter but Meghna continued talking making me halt my steps "anyways it's not like he has some feelings for me" I heard her say and I sighed hearing her comment.

When will she understand that the stupid friend of mine has got feelings for her and is not very expressive about it.

You know about Arjun and why is he like this!! But how will she know? Taunted my brain.

But I have never seen Arjun like in recent days since past two years! He really seems to get back to his original ways.

"Meghna!" I heard Riya's concerned voice.

"hmm...Sorry I guess I zoned out" I heard Meghna say and smiled as my answer would be the same now at this instant.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Riya asked Meghna.

"Yeah...Sorry that I had to disturb you with all my stupid problems" I heard Meghna saying her voice laced with guilt. I finally decided to make my entrance and walked into her cube.

"Oh C'mon! What are friends for?" Riya said trying to cheer her up, pulling her into a warm hug. I smiled looking at them.

"Oh! Am I interrupting something?" I said with a hint of teasing in my voice. They pulled away to look at me as I gave them an amused look.

"Hello to you too Karan" Riya said in a sarcastic tone.

"So, Can anyone tell me what is all of this is about?" I asked raising my eyebrows at them hoping atleast now they would tell me what is all this is about. Meghna just shrugged her shoulders.

"It's our girls little secret!" Riya said winking at Meghna. I rolled my eyes.

"You are also not going to tell me?" I asked looking at Meghna and that's when I noticed how red and puffy her eyes were, now I am sure that she had been crying but I didn't know why exactly. She zipped her mouth with her fingers and gave me a cheesy grin. I rolled my eyes at her antics. She clearly knows how to avoid answering me.

"Anyways, Aren't we getting late? Let's go Meghna" Riya said standing up from the chair.

"Yeah! Gimme two minutes" Meghna said and shut her laptop down after saving her work. I decided to give them one more chance to tell me about it hoping they would.

"So, you guys are seriously not going to tell me anything" I said looking at them a bit seriously and they both nodded their heads in no.

"You guys are unbelievable!" I muttered under my breath and walked away.

I felt hurt because they didn't trust me enough to share about this.

But from what all bits and pieces I gathered, I am sure this has something to do with Arjun, Meghna, Tina and most importantly the presentation.

I am going to ask Arjun directly about it tomorrow at any cost.

I finished packing all my stuff and walked out. They both bid goodbye to me to which I gave them a sulking look, they laughed at me. I shook my head and got seated into my car and drove off.

Next Day

I rushed towards my cabin and settled down on my swiveling chair and relaxed a bit. This city's traffic is taking a toll on me. I travel a lot of distance daily which makes me want to shift to somewhere near by to my office. But, my parents don't want me to do that because I am their only child and they want me to be with them. When I asked them to come along with me, they refused stating that it's our ancestors house and they can't leave that place which is why I am trying to cope up with this city's heavy traffic everyday.

I already took a caffe Latte from Starbucks on my way so I started devouring the bittersweet taste which is helping me to relax my mind. I started working on the project status report that is to be presented to our project manager by tomorrow as we are having an important meeting with our clients the following day. Arjun is going to give the presentation on that day on behalf of our team. That's when I realised I need to talk to Arjun about this Presentation thing.

I assumed that may be Tina has done something to the presentation which Meghna did, but why would she cry for such a thing. I mean I know it's her hardwork but seriously I don't think Meghna would cry for such a petty issue. And I even gathered that Meghna would try to maintain some distance from Arjun but why? What has this got to do with him. I understood that I am missing on some major detail which would link all these and I can come to some conclusion only when I talk to him.

I continued working for some more time and decided to talk to Arjun about it during lunch. But he was nowhere to be seen, he must me busy with some work I reasoned myself and had my lunch alone. I didn't know why I didn't feel like having lunch with either Meghna or Riya.

Sometime after lunch break, I decided to check up on Arjun once to see whether he is free so I can talk about it but he was not in his cabin so I checked for him in our floor. I sighed and started walking back to my cabin passing the staircase, that's when I heard something which caught my interest.

"You should have seen the look on her face! It was priceless" I heard Tina's high pitch tone followed by her evil laughter.

Is she talking about Meghna?

"Really?" I heard another female voice which sounded familiar but I cannot exactly spot on who that was.

What's with me and eavesdropping people these days?

You will get know what you want, so just shut up and listen! taunted my brain. I shook my head and continued listening to them.

"Yeah!" Tina said and continued trying to mimick Arjun's voice "if you are not interested in doing this presentation you should have told me" but failed miserably. I heard a female laugh and that's when I understood who she is.

She is just another Tina from HR department. Her name is Smitha Desai.

She is the exact replica of Tina. But I must say she is far better than Tina as I had worked with her before and maintained a good professional relationship with her.

"I am disappointed with you" Tina said yet again mimicking Arjun's voice making me clench my fist.

"She looked like she was about to cry her eyes out, you know" she said. Now I am sure that she was talking about Meghna.

So, Meghna was crying because Arjun said all these things! Oh no! What have you done Arjun?

"But how did you manage to do this?" Smitha asked Tina yet again gaining my interest. C'mon just spill it!!

"Oh that's so simple! I just deleted the presentation from the pendrive" Tina said making me angry, I could actually​ imagine her smirking.

How can someone stoop so low just to have someone's attention!!

Bloody Attention seekers!!

I decided to make my entry and walked passing by them. The look on Tina's face was hilarious as soon as she noticed me because I guess she didn't expect to see me there. I didn't want to give away the clue that I heard everything so I simply mainted my usual cool demeanor and smiled at them.

"Hey" I said smiling at them.

"Hey Karan! Long time no see" Smitha said giving me a sweet smile.

"You know, as usual work busy" I said returning her smile.

"Oh you always say this" Smitha said hitting my arm playfully.

"umm...I got to go guys! I have some work, catch you later" Tina said hurriedly walking away. I raised my eyebrows at Smitha and she simply shrugged.

"So..." I continued talking to Smitha for some more time and reached my cabin.

Even the next day passed by in a blur, I talked to Arjun for some time but couldn't talk about 'the' issue as I was busy myself. I even talked to Meghna & Riya but I couldn't behave like I used to be.

I couldn't digest the fact that she wanted to hide something like this from me. Am I not her friend??

She must have told me about it no matter what!!

Today is the meeting and I finally decided that I am going to talk to Arjun about it no matter what, he has to know what Tina has done and there is no mistake on Meghna's side.

I knocked his cabin and entered inside only after I heard him saying "come in". I observed that he was very much busy

"How many times have I told you that there is no need for you to knock, you could just come inside" Arjun said looking up from his laptop.

"nah! That's okay, what if you are busy?" I asked, settling on the chair opposite to him.

"I would never be busy for you, anyways what brought you here?" Arjun asked passing me a smile but he still seemed busy working.

"Do you have lot of work to do?" I asked him.

"hmm..Yeah! I just need to finalize which presentation I am going to give" he said and that caught my interest.

"I think only Meghna did a presentation so what is there to finalize?" I asked him confused.

"Yeah! I actually​ asked her to make one but after some things happened, both Meghna and Tina came up with two different presentations, so I need to chose one which is better" he said and I didn't miss the change in his tone and look on his face while he was talking. It showed guilt. I know he would feel guilty for talking to Meghna that way.

Tina did a presentation?

"Oh!" I said not giving away any clue about what I know about Tina. I want him to know about it himself but I am just going to help him in finding her wrong doings.

"Yeah!" He said, as I noticed how tired he looked. I felt bad for him. He need not stress himself so much just for some meeting.

"Do you need any help? I am free right now" I said looking at him.

"Really? Great! Can you please check these two and chose one?" He asked, passing me his laptop. I gladly accepted, happy to help my friend.

I checked both the presentations keenly observing every point mentioned and was shocked to see the striking resemblance between both of them. The sentence formation, the images etc everything looked similar. The only major difference I could find was the difference in the theme. It felt as if only one single person has made both the presentations. That is when reality struck me hard.

Tina has copied Meghna's presentation and then deleted it from the pendrive. She made some minor changes and submitted it as her own work.

How can she do something like this?

"Are you done checking?" Arjun's question brought me back from my thoughts. I nodded my head.

"Why don't you check once?" I asked him. He walked and turned the laptop towards his side and started observing them.

"Don't you find them quite similar?" Arjun asked after checking them.

"Exactly!" I said smiling inwardly, looked at him and​ found him in deep thoughts.

"Don't tell me what I am thinking is exactly same thing you are thinking!" Arjun stated, lifting his head to look at me. I nodded my head affirmatively. I don't think I need to tell him what all happened because he seems to already understand.

"Oh no! What have I done?" Arjun muttered under his breath, shaking his head.

"How could she do something like this?" Arjun said, his voice cold and angry.

"Cool down Arjun! It's not the right time to think about what happened, the meeting's gonna start in just some time" I said placing my hand on his shoulder.

"But Meghna.." Arjun trailed off, I could clearly see the guilt in his eyes.

"We will see about it later, okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah" he nodded and copied Meghna's presentation to his laptop and a pendrive.

Soon, the meeting commenced and our Project Manager talked about it for sometime and asked Arjun to take over. I looked at Meghna and observed that she seemed nervous, I guess may be about her Presentation.

Arjun played the slideshow of Meghna's presentation and soon a smile broke on her face. I was happy that even after all these, her hardwork finally paid off.

Arjun kept talking about our project status, explaining about the contents on each slide in his very usual confident self which I was completely aware of. I could see everyone giving him appreciating smiles which made me feel proud about him. Soon, the slideshow came to an end and I was surprised to hear Arjun thanking Meghna for her work. I gave him a knowing smile to which he just shrugged.

The expression on Meghna's face told that she was beyond happy. Even our project manager praised her. Almost every​one left the conference hall and I saw Arjun busily talking to our Project Manager. So, I just walked out of the conference hall.

"Karan, we need to talk!" I heard someone making me halt my steps further.
