Is it about work or about...us??

How I wish it is something about us!!

I slowly walked towards Arjun's office. I peeped through the glass door and found Tina talking to Arjun. She seems to have a serious expression on her face so I guess it something related to work.

Now why is she here?

Cant she leave us alone for sometime??

I decided to wait until she walks out but it seems that is the last thing on her mind right now. Anyways, I waited for some more time.

okay! If I will go inside then she might leave!!

I walked towards the door and knocked it. I heard a faint come in.

"Good Morning sir, You called me?" I said entering his cabin. I stood their, smiled at Arjun then turned towards Tina and smiled at her. She just nodded at me.

"Yeah! Good Morning! please take your seat" Arjun said looking up from his Laptop.

I settled down on the chair, turned to look at Tina expecting her to say something like 'okay, I will make a move now' but she just sat their looking at Arjun as if I am not existing at all. I narrowed my eyes at her. I heard Arjun clearing his throat. I swiftly turned towards him. I looked at him and felt as if he is trying to control his smile.

"Well Meghna! I need you to prepare a presentation for the meeting next week" I nodded at him hoping that is the matter but he continued speaking and his next words made me angry.

"And you need to work with Miss. Mehra regarding this presentation, she will help you if in case you need any" He said looking at me. I simply nodded at him controlling my anger.

"Once you finish the presentation, just give it her" Arjun spoke and turned towards Tina.

"Yes sir!" I said with a serious expression hoping he would understand that I don't want to work with her.

"And Miss.Mehra " Arjun spoke but Tina interrupted him.

"Yeah! Arjun, I will make sure she does it perfectly, you don't have to worry about it" she spoke giving her sweet smile. Note the sarcasm.

"No! I know she can do it perfectly, it is just that if in case she needs any help you help her" Arjun said smiling at me and I felt my insides started to melt.

Now Take that Tina!! Haha!!

I could actually feel Tina burning hole inside my head but you think I would care. Nah! She is the last person I am concerned about.

"yeah! So I think you both can get back to work" Arjun said getting back to work mode. I stood up, smiled at him. He smiled back.

Aww...that smile!! what are doing to me Arjun???

I walked out, I heard Tina calling me once we were out of his cabin.

"Meghna! I know that you will definitely need my help, so ask me anything you want because I want this presentation to be perfect" Tina said with a stupid smirk on her face running her perfectly manicured hand through her hair.

"okay sure!" I said gritting my teeth.

What does she think about herself?? How could Arjun ask me work with her? Cant he see that I don't want to work with her?

I walked towards my cubicle and settled down. I decided to work on the presentation to keep my mind away from stupid thoughts.

"whoa!! Looks like someone is so busy working" I heard Karan's voice as he walked towards my place. I simply looked up and smiled at him.

"what's up? Why is my bestie working so hard even forgetting to have lunch?" he asked raising his eyebrows at me.

"umm...I have to do a presentation for the next week's meeting, sorry I kept you waiting!" I said shutting my laptop. Ever Since Karan became close friend to I and Riya, he would make sure to have lunch with us at least twice a week. He says it is kinda boring to have it with Arjun when he can spend his time with beautiful girls, his words not mine. Anyways, we enjoy his company too.

Karan is pretty much fun loving person. It is easy for anyone to befriend him. I am so happy that I have him as my best friend now. I always wonder how lucky the girl who is going to marry him. Talking about girls, these days Karan has changed so much that he almost stopped flirting with girls herein office. I know that his flirting is pretty harmless. I think he started to think about being serious in relationships now though I don't know why?

"Meghna! come no, I am starving!!" I heard Riya whining at me. I stood up and we walked towards the cafeteria. we were having lunch when I saw Tina entering the cafeteria, she looked at me and smirked. I started gritting my teeth.

"Now, what did she do?" Riya asked me making me turn towards her.

"huh?" I said her not understanding what she meant.

"what did Tina do now that you are throwing daggers at her?" Riya asked munching on her food. This seems to catch Karan's interest and he looked at me expectantly.

"you know, Arjun called me in the morning......" I told them everything and sighed in disappointment.

"c'mon Meghna!! We are in a team and we have to work sometimes with other person even though you like them or not" Karan said looking straight into my eyes.

"I know that but I cant stand her bossing around me" I said finishing my food.

"Its okay! You just finish off the work and submit it to her, it is not necessary that you have to take her help" Riya said shrugging her shoulders. I nodded at her.

"yeah! If you need any help you know that I am always there for you" Karan said giving me a warm smile. I smiled back at him wondering how nice he is.

"I don't think she needs anyone help Karan after all her boss knows that she will do it perfectly" Riya said winking at me. I looked down feeling my cheeks getting warm. They both hi-fied seeing my condition. I immediately took my phone and started walking out when I ran into someone.

"I am sorry! I didn't see you coming" I said slowing looking up and found Aditya standing there.

"Its perfectly alright Meghna" he said giving me a sweet smile.

Oh god!!

"umm..okay bye" I said and walked to my place and settled down.

Before leaving office, Riya told me not to forget asking about going to party tomorrow.

Oh yeah! I completely forgot about it!!

I reached home feeling very tired and slept off immediately. My mom woke me up saying to have dinner and then sleep. I freshened up and walk towards the dining table. I saw my dad, mom and my brother waiting for me. I settled down and started having dinner. I suddenly remembered that I should ask them about going to party. I know if I say it is a party they are going to accept it but if I say that the party is in a club then I don't know how they are going to react.

I looked at my dad having his food calmly, I started nervously biting my lips trying to form sentences in my mind to make them as simple as possible for them to understand, not wanting to make a big issue out of it.

"Meghna! What is it? Why are you not eating?" my mom asked breaking my thoughts, I then realised that I just kept moving my fingers in the plate.

"umm..it is just that I want to ask you about something...." I trailed off, looked up to see all of them giving me their undivided attention.

"what is it beta?" my dad asked me in a calm and soothing tone. My nervousness flew at that instant. I drank some water and decided to tell them clearly.

"Papa, my colleagues are getting married so they decided to give us a party. It is tomorrow at.....at...." I said but stopped unable to form words. I know my parents are not completely orthodox but they are just worried about my well being.

"At club Republic" My dad finished the sentence making my eyes go wider in size of a saucer. Okay! Not a saucer but definitely the size of a golf ball.

"How did you know?" I asked utterly confused.

"Karan beta called us and informed. He assured us that he will take care of you" Dad said smiling at me.

Karan!! I guess now you can clearly understand why I always feel lucky to have him as my best friend.

"So does that mean I can go?" I asked him slowly looking up from my plate. He nodded smiling.

"But make sure you come back early" My mom said, her voice worried.

"yeah maa! I will, you don't worry even Riya will be with me" I said trying to lessen her worry.

"No Smoking and Drinking!!" My brother said trying to imitate Dad's voice. I glared at him. Luckily, Dad and Mom laughed at him. We both joined them too.

Thank god! No! Actually I should thank Karan for making this so easy for me.

I reached my room and decided to message Karan first.

Thank you sooooo much!!! You are the BEST!!! :D

I immediately got a reply from him.

I know I am!! *smirking* Anyways u r welcome :)

PS: Make sure to look Gorgeous!! Time to make way to someone's Heart ;)

I blushed furiously hearing his words.My phone beeped indicating another message.

C'mon!! Stop Blushing now!! :p

I smiled looking at his message. I typed in another message.

Are you sure he is coming??

He replied me back immediately.

You don't worry about it!! I will make sure he will come :D

I smiled at his message and replied him back.

Okay sir!!!  Good Night and Thanks again :)

He messaged me back with a good night too. I thought about Karan's words. Look Gorgeous but how?? Oh! I should decide what I should wear for tomorrow. I kept Riya and Sravs on a conference call, asked them what I should wear and after a lot of discussion for about an hour, I and Riya decided what we gonna wear. It was pretty late by the time we finished our discussion so we decided call it a day.

Next Morning, Riya's call woke me up even before my alarm. I talked to her, she said that we can come back to my house after office and go from here after freshening up as the party will start at 8 PM. I told her an okay and decided to get ready to office.

I reached office pretty much early today than everyday. I saw Arjun entering the Elevator. I rushed towards his direction but by the time I reached there, the elevator closed shut. I sighed in disappointed but suddenly the Elevator doors opened and there stood Arjun looking So Handsome.

If it a crime to look so Handsome then Arjun would be the first person to be punished!!

I gave him a confused smile and entered inside the Elevator. He smiled back. I was about to press the floor number and Arjun also did it at the same time causing our fingers to slightly brush. I felt tingling sensation and pulled my hand back immediately. I noticed him clicking the floor number. I looked at him and caught him staring at me. our eyes met and I got lost into his black pools. The Elevator dinged breaking our intense Eye Lock. Arjun adjusted his tie and walked out. I slowly walked out, repeating each and every moment in my mind and smiled.

Can a day start with anything more better than this??
