TW: Slight RACISM and Subtle ABUSE

"DUSTIN!"

Madison turned around to see an older woman with brown hair noticing how similar she looked to Jonathan and Will. She also learned that Will is also his brother who went trick-or-treating with Max. "Ms. Byers?"

She felt a surge of panic as she stepped closer to the group. "What's going on? Where's Will,"

Lucas burst through the back door, He's been running for what seems like ages, "The field". He exclaimed trying to catch his breath

Ms. Byers runs, making her way to the field. They followed her confused.

"Will, I just found him standing like this, I think he is having another episode," Mike yelled, completely scared.

Ms. Byers stood in front of him, her heart racing as she grabbed his shoulders, panic surging through her "WILL, WILL, WILL" she cried out.

"Sweetie, wake up, it's Mommy." Her voice trembled

Will looks like he's possessed, his eyes are rolled back, and he doesn't respond to his mother."Can you hear me? Will please, wake up, please wake up! It's me, Mom, It's me!"

Madison stood there, her heart was racing with fear. Will suddenly woke up, his eyes turning back to normal and a terrified gasp escaped his lips. It's a relief but at the same time a shocker. It is like a horror movie coming to life. The five walked to the front of the school, processing what just happened. Ms. Byers helped Will get in the car. "What the hell", Madison blurted out concerned

"Okay, that freaked me out. Did that not freak you guys out," Max blurted out, in complete disbelief

Mike shook his head. "Two episodes in one day?"

"It's getting worse," Lucas said, concerned.

"OK, can someone explain to me what just happened?"Madison blurted out frustrated

Mike shook his head "No"

Madison's eyes narrowed at him "And why not?"

"Because it's top secret,"

Lucas elbowed Dustin "Yeah, very top secret."

Madison just rolled her eyes

"You think that True Sight?"  Lucas asked

"What is True Sight?" The Mayfields asked

"It's nothing," Lucas said, trying to brush it off

"I'm sorry to leave you guys here but Max, we got to go," Madison motioned

Max leaned her head back, rolling her eyes in the process. She did not want to see Billy  "Ugh fine."

Madison turned to the group, concerned. "Are you guys going to be ok walking home?"

Dustin nodded with a small smile. "Yeah, we got our bikes."

She stared at the school, one last time.

"Maddie Come on," Max shouted from a distance.

The next day...

Madison spent the whole day trying to avoid Steve, it's not like he did anything wrong, just that she still feels scared. Scared that Billy might do something to him. She is waiting by the school parking lot looking out for Max. Her gaze focused on every student. Billy is right by her with a cigarette in his mouth, she feels a knot tighten in her stomach.

"Where is she?"

She approached them, Lucas following behind her. They seemed to be arguing about something. "What's going on?" Madison asked concerned

Billy cuts her off "That kid you were talking to, who is he?"

"He's no one," Max answered

Billy raised an eyebrow. "No one?"

"This kid from my class," Max repeated, trying to keep her voice steady

Madison opened the door for Max and glanced at Lucas. As she opened the door, Billy fixed his gaze on him like he was a threat. Finally, the three are inside the car. Billy lit up his cigarette and held on to it. "Why was he talking to you?"

"It was just about a stupid class assignment." She said slightly irritated

"Then why're you so upset?" Billy asked

"I'm not!" Max exclaimed, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks

Madison felt the tension in the car rise. "Just drop it."

Billy narrowed his eyes at Max. "He's causing you trouble."

"Why do you care?"Max asked.

Madison suddenly felt fear- she said the same thing yesterday... she hoped he wouldn't do the same thing he did to her.

Billy's jaw tightened as he glanced at her "Max you're a piece of shit but we're family now whether we like it or not. Meaning I'm stuck looking out for the both of you."

Max lifts her arms, looking up at the car. "What would I ever do without?"

Billy grabbed onto Max's wrist, his knuckles turning white in the process. She clenched her hand into a fist. Madison suddenly tensed up, no not again...

"HEY, This is serious shit ok. I'm older than you." And something you learn is that there are certain types of people in this world that you stay away from, and that kid. Max." He said in a low voice

He pulls her closer to him. "That kid is one of them."

Max tried to escape from his grip. Madison watched his grip tighten on her wrist. She felt helpless and wanted to do something to protect Max. "Billy, leave her out of this..."

Billy ignored her and tugged on Max's arm. "You stay away from him, you hear me? Stay away."

He let go of her wrist. Max is trying her hardest not to burst out crying. Billy points at her. "That goes for you too."

Madison felt a knot twist in her stomach... She desperately just wanted to hold Max and tell her that everything was going to be ok. Why does Billy feel the need to control who they hang with- it wasn't just about Steve now .. it's now Lucas that's involved. She didn't want a repeat of the Nate Walker situation, the thought of the sound of his bones breaking under Billy's grip made her shiver. And what's even worse is that Lucas is black... so that makes it even more dangerous. The way he looked at him... like he was some sort of threat... made her feel uneasy.

A/N: I understand most of y'all that read this fanfic like Billy Hargrove, for some reason. Now don't get me wrong it doesn't make you a bad person. He had a tough life living with his douchebag dad. Sure, yeah. But just because he didn't have a good childhood doesn't mean he can take it out on other people.
