"Are you serious?!" She screams at me. I cover my ears, trying to block out her screaming but it's a useless attempt.
"I can't believe that you're being sent to a discipline school for delinquents!" She shouts, slamming her fist down on the old wooden table. I flinch at the action.
I sigh. "Look, I said I was sorry!"
"Sorry? Sorry?!" She shouts hysterically. "You destroyed a whole fleet of Marine ships and all you say is sorry?!"
I roll my eyes. "What do you want me to do?"
"Just go to the stupid school!" She huffs. "You're useless anyway."
I shoot her a bright smile. "Thanks for reminding me of my uselessness. I appreciate it." She rolls her eyes as I say this but I continue. "My escort is coming tomorrow to pick me up anyway. So unless I run away, I'll be forced to go."
The middle aged woman who has taken care of me after my mother's death looks at me with rage. At first glance, it would seem that she's blazing with anger but looking intently, the sorrow that lurks behind is visible.
I get up from the chair and stretch, a smirk on my face. "I gotta go pack now. See ya, old lady!"
"It's Yuki-san to you!" She shouts in frustration.
I dash up the stairs for my room, laughing as she shouts insults behind me. I open the rickety old door that's covered scratches and marks made years ago and enter my bedroom. Breathing in, I smile at the familiar scent. My eyes scan the room, trying to memorize it. After all, who knows how long I'll be gone for?
My room doesn't contain much. Just a small bed with an old, uncomfortable mattress pushed up against the wall along with a small window above letting in a ray of sunlight. The small table beside it holds the majority of what I own and my clothes are jammed into the small closet located next to the door.
I get to work and pull out my small, beige backpack from under my bed. After looking around and stuffing my necessities and medicine into it, I start feeling drowsy and plop down on my mattress exhausted, soon drifting off into a deep slumber.
~
In the morning, I wake up earlier than I originally planned. Groaning, I roll off the hard mattress and make my way to the bathroom wishing I could've slept longer.
After showering, I slip into black leggings, a miniskirt, a red long sleeved sweater and my leather jacket. I tie my (H/C) hair into a knot, my prized dagger keeping it up and have my bangs slip over my left eye. Finally, I put on my long black leather combat boots.
I grab my bag and run down the stairs that lead directly into the kitchen. The old table shakes as I grab a croissant and stuff it in the toaster oven. My guardian, Yuki walks into the room and looks at me with a surprised expression.
"Awake so early, (Y/N)?" She mumbles. "That's the first."
"My escort's coming to pick me up in a half hour." I say, taking my warmed croissant out of the toaster and taking a bite out of it. I walk over to a small cabinet take out a bunch of snacks, stuffing them into my bag. I then proceed to hop onto the table and continue to eat my croissant as Yuki sets tea on the stove for herself.
"It's about time I have some peace and quiet!" She sighs, closing her eyes, a small smile gracing her lips.
I grin tiredly with a mouthful of food. "You're wight, wold wady."
She opens her eyes looks at me in disgust. "Manners, (Y/N)! I didn't understand a word you just said."
I quickly swallow and repeat myself. "I said, you're right, old lady."
She looks at me smugly. "I'm always right."
"Ha!" I laugh. "You're a bundle of laughter, grandma."
"Shut it!" She growls throwing a beaten frying pan at me which I dodge easily. "I am not a grandma." She huffs angrily.
I smile, hopping down from the table just as a horn honks outside. "Well, they're early. I better get going now, Granny."
She rolls her eyes. "Just go already."
I raise an eyebrow. "You don't mind me being gone for three years?"
"You're nineteen, (Y/N). You were supposed to go to college until you came up with the wild idea of becoming a pirate."
I scowl at her. "For your information, I've wanted to be a pirate since I was little! It's not my fault that I accidentally blew up three Marine ships."
"For your information, you actually blew up nine Marine ships and not by accident." She glares.
Outside the car honks again and I roll my eyes.
"Fine, fine. I blew up nine marine ships with full intent on doing so. Whatever." I grin. "Someday I'll become a great pirate, Granny!" I shout as I walk out the door.
"We'll see!" She yells back, a smile in her voice.
I jump down the broken steps and freeze when I see a pink limo waiting for me. What scares me the most are the pink feathers covering it completely. I stand, not knowing what to do until a man steps out from the drivers seat and opens the back door for me.
I awkwardly slide into the vehicle, avoiding his stare while muttering a quiet 'thank you'. The chauffeur doesn't respond and closes the door, walking back to the drivers side. Thankfully, I am given my own privacy and immediately relax. But I abruptly become aware of a pair of eyes staring at me. I look across me and see a boy with raven hair wearing a white, black spotted hat on his head. In his hand he holds a sword. He glares at me and I do the same.
I don't know how long we stare at each other that way until he breaks the silence. "What are you going to this school for?" He asks cooly, leaning back in the plush seat.
"What a nice way to greet someone." I snort.
He rolls his eyes. "Would you like me to bow or something?"
I cringe at the idea. "A simple greeting would suffice."
He sighs, laying his sword across his lap. But he doesn't release his grip and stays tense as if expecting me to attack him. "I'm positive that a delinquent wouldn't care for pleasantries."
I mull over that before reluctantly saying, "I guess you have a point."
We fall into silence but our gazes never break. I see his hand twitch and I smirk.
"Do you really think I'm going to attack you for no reason at all?" I say, amused.
He narrows his eyes further. "Once again, of course I'm going to be on alert if I don't know what abilities you possess and how you landed a spot at Dressrosa Academy."
"I—you're right," I finally concede, voicing the words through gritted teeth.
This man is definitely rational and coolheaded.
I turn to look out the window and see that we've left my hometown, Eloa Village. A part of me is relieved and glad while the other is anxious to see what awaits in the future.
"I'm Trafalgar Law." I hear his quiet voice speak.
I look back over to him and see a little spark of curiosity in his eyes as he waits for me to respond. But I'm silent. I watch him for a moment, staring right back into his eyes. He waits expectantly, never breaking his gaze until I finally decide speak.
"(Y/N)." I state.
He smirks. "Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me your name, (Y/N)-ya."
"Your welcome, Law." I say sarcastically as he rolls his eyes at me once again.
The limo comes to a halt. I look at Law and we both share bemused expressions.
"Is there another person that we're picking up?" I ask slowly.
"It seems so."
Abruptly, the door to my right flies open and a redheaded boy stumbles very ungracefully into the vehicle. He mumbles profanities under his breath before lifting his gaze and seeing the two of us.
His eyes widen in recognition as they settle on Law. "You!" He spits, venom in his voice.
"Nice to see you again, Eustass-ya." Law says calmly, still at ease.
"As if." The red head sneers, in disgust. "Why the hell are you going to the stupid academy?"
Law shrugs, keeping his cool demeanor. "The Strawhats landed themselves there after being imprisoned there by Doflamingo." He says the man's name with disgust. "I was simply curious so I decided to see everything for myself."
"With the way you said Doflamingo's name, it appears that you despise him." I can't help but point out.
"I do." He says, shifting his eyes to me.
"Then...why are you going?" Men never cease to confuse me.
The murderous glint in his eyes makes a cold shiver run down my spine. "I'm simply waiting for the chance to end his life." He says in a cold voice. "Maybe a chance will arise during my time at the academy."
The red haired boy turns his gaze to me. "Who the hell are you?"
I raise an eyebrow. "I could ask you the same question."
"Then why don't you?" He sneers.
This boy is probably denser than I am.
"Eustass-ya," Law says slowly as if speaking to a child. "She technically did ask you."
The boy fumes, his face turning red. "You could've said it outright!"
I cock my head to the side and voice my thoughts. "You're pretty dense, did you know that?"
The redhead looks ready to lunge at me and probably choke me to death but Law sticks out his sword, preventing the boy from jumping over and attempting to murder me.
"But for the answer to your question, my name is (Y/N)."
"As if I'm telling you my name after that!"
"His name is Eustass Kid." Law replies, shooting a glare at the redhead.
Kid now turns his murderous intent on Law but he stops and asks me, "For what reason are you going to Dressrosa Academy?"
"Again, I could ask you the same." I say nonchalantly, getting annoyed by him.
"Did you understand what that question implied, Eustass-ya?" Law says with a smirk.
Kid looks at the two of us with fury in his eyes. "I swear I'm going to kill you both before I leave the academy."
"You can try." I offer, a mischievous glint in my eyes.
"Oh I will, little girl." He sneers.
"But that doesn't mean that you'll succeed." I say slyly.
The lack of sleep from the night before finally takes a toll on me and feel myself slipping a slumber as Kid starts listing off the different ways he could kill us.
~
When I wake, I look out the window and see a large, looming castle close by. Along the way I see a damaged sign that reads DRESSROSA ACADEMY in dark, bold, fading letters.
A barbed wire fence surrounds the building along with another five small castles around the main one. The fence extends far out of view. I try to squint my eyes to see the end but the gnarled trees block the rest from sight. I notice that we are ascending a mountain and are most likely far from civilization.
Kid lets out a low whistle. "I can't wait to destroy this place." He says deviously and I can't help but internally agree with the infuriating redhead.
We park in front of the main castle and I can't stop myself from shuddering as a large, human sized toy jerks our way and opens the door for us. Cautiously, I slide out with Kid and Law in tow. I can't help but notice that the toy soldier is missing one leg and has gun slung across its back.
"Follow me." It speaks.
The large double doors are opened by two more toys and the four of us stride into the large castle. Surprisingly it's a lot nicer inside than outside. Deep red carpets adorn the floors and silk curtains hang from the old fashioned windows. A large crystal chandelier looms above us and the setting sun's light reflects off it creating rainbows on the dull, grey stone walls.
The toy soldier leads us down an evenly, carpeted hallway until we reach two double brass doors.
The soldier turns to us. "This is where I leave you." He says and walks back down the hallway. I take a deep breath and put my hand on the cold, golden knob. I pull it open and walk in along with the other two.
We enter and see a large mahogany desk with a man seated behind it, grinning at us evilly. He wears a pink fur coat with red sunglasses. He doesn't appear to be too old because his blond mass of hair isn't thinning.
"Welcome to Dressrosa Academy! I am Doflamingo, your principal." He says in a deep booming voice that echoes through the spacious room.
"You each will spend four years here. It may be lessened or extended further depending on how well or how bad you do." He smiles evilly. "Baby 5." He calls to a young woman with a dark mass of long hair, a cigarette dangling from her lips. "Give the students their papers."
The woman walks up to us and hands us each a thick stack of fine paper. "Here are your schedules, maps, and papers with information about the classes. All classes are held here in this building. The other five are dorms for the students. You three will be staying in Castle A."
I nod as Kid huffs in annoyance. Law remains quiet but accepts the papers from Baby 5. "Very well then." Doflamingo says, the eery grin never leaving his face. "You may leave."
I immediately rush towards the door and yank on the the golden knob, leaving Kid and Law behind. Running down the hallway and out the building, I try to get as far as I can from the main building and the creepy toys that freak me out.
As I run across the field towards a random dorm, the ground quakes beneath me as what seems to be an explosion, goes off. My ears ring as I tumble to the hard ground, another explosion following right after the first, even closer than before.
What the hell?
I tentatively stand up, shaking my head in a daze. Looking up, I see two figures flying out of the dorm I was heading towards. Another person runs towards me as the others continue their brawl.
"What'd you say to me, Moss Head?" The blond screams, lifting up a flaming leg.
"You're an idiot, Love Cook!" The green haired man says, swords in each hand and one in his mouth.
Behind them, the third person approaches me at a quick pace. He has a long nose and dark skin. He looks terrified. "Oi!" He shouts at me. "Get away from here!"
I stumble back unsteadily as he grabs my arm and leads me in the direction of another dorm. Another explosion goes off and I fall against the long nosed boy. I let out a small shriek as we fall to the ground. I end up landing on top of him. He grunts in pain and I peer down at him a bit concerned but wary as I try to regain my composure.
"I lost my footing. Sorry," I say in haste, scrambling to stand up.
He lets out a shaky laugh as I stand and hesitantly reach out a hand to help him up. He takes it and smiles brightly at me, his fear gone.
"That's fine." He glances over my shoulder and grabs my hand again. "But we really should get out of here and wait a couple of minutes until they cool down."
I look back, seeing another part of the dorm destroyed, debris littering the grass. I turn back at long nose. "I don't think that's necessary," I say apprehensively, slipping my hand out of his grip.
"Do you want to die?!" He yelps. "We have to get to a safer dorm." The deep concern in his eyes makes me falter.
Should I trust him?
My body moves before I can decide and I reluctantly follow him to the other dorm which is identical to the others. As he pulls me inside, a pungent smell hits us and I scrunch my nose in disgust. The Main Castle is nice and clean but what else should I expect from the dorms filled with a bunch of delinquents?
"In here!" The boy says yanking me into a room.
Inside here at least the smell isn't as strong. In fact, it smells like medical herbs. "Who's room is this?"
"Me and my roommate's." He says, trying to catch his breath.
"And who are you?"
He straightens his posture, puffing out his chest. "I am Ussop. The bravest sniper in the world!"
"I'm (Y/N)." I reply, somehow trusting this man immediately. He seems too kind to be a deceitful person. "I'm striving to be the best healer. I'll do anything to protect the ones that I love."
"Really?" He asks, his interest piqued. "You would get along well with my roommate, Chopper."
My lips lift up into the ghost of a smile. "Can't wait to meet him." I think for a minute. "Who are the two people battling outside?"
"That's Zoro and Sanji. We're all in the same pirate crew. Both those two don't exactly get along well." Ussop laughs.
"How many people are in your crew?" I ask curiously.
"Nine." He says, joy in his eyes. "Our captain is Straw Hat Luffy."
"I don't think I've ever heard of him." I say, though the name sounds vaguely familiar.
Ussop's eyes widen. "Eh?!"
"I don't pay attention to the news much to be honest," I say quickly. "I'm sorry if I offended you or your captain."
Another explosion rocks the dorm. "I'm going out there to stop those two now because I can't take this chaos anymore." I turn to leave and glance at Ussop over my shoulder. "Are you coming?"
"Y-yeah." He says, knees wobbling and knocking against each other and I roll my eyes.
"How are you afraid of your own crew members?"
"You don't know them as well as I do." Ussop shudders.
We turn towards the door and walk out into the hallway. I rush down the winding hallways with Ussop quickening his pace to keep up. Just as we exit the building, the ground shakes we go flying back, another explosion knocking us off our feet.
Enraged, I look up and see both the blond and green haired man still fighting. Firmly planting my feet on the ground, I stomp up to them without stumbling. Anger rips at my insides and causes me to punch the two, sending them flying back in opposite directions.
"Oi! What was that for?!" They both shout in unison.
"What was that for? How dumb can the two of you be?" I ask in disbelief.
"Pretty dumb." Ussop coughs behind me.
The blonds eyes instantly turn to hearts and he swoons. "My princess! I've finally found you!" He grabs my hand. "May I be your knight in shining in armor?"
"Shut up." The green haired one says. "You're giving me a headache."
"You shut it, marimo!" The blond screams back.
"Shut up!" I yell, hitting them again, a tick mark appearing on my head.
"And who do you think you are?" The green haired man glares.
"The last time I checked, my name was (Y/N)." I say through gritted teeth.
"Roronoa Zoro." He responds.
"I didn't ask."
"(Y/N)-Chwan!" The blond screeches in my ears. "Please be mine!"
"Please shut up!" I shout above him, covering my ears.
"And that's Sanji." Ussop says from behind me. "He's a lady's man."
"Remind me to stay away from him." I say, scowling at the blond.
I turn to leave but am I'm knocked to the ground as an explosion goes off again. Looking up, I see none other than Kid and Law beginning a fight of their own. I knew from the start that they hated each other. I haven't even been here an hour and the chaos has already begun.
How am I ever going to survive in this place?

Question:
Is my writing thorough? Or does it seem like a five year old wrote it?
