I take a deep breath.
I can't take this anymore.
Two days.
There're two more days left until we arrive.
These past few days we've been on this ship and the lack of fresh air is making me go crazy. My headache has returned, harsher than ever, making matters worse as I sit in the corner, starting to hyperventilate in the stuffy room.
Everyone else is currently asleep so no one notices me at the verge of passing out. I close my eyes trying to calm down but it doesn't work. I want to open the window but I know that if I move, I'm definitely going to get dizzy and collapse.
Suddenly, I feel a warm hand on my shoulder. A gasp escapes me as my eyes fly open. I look back into dark eyes, one with a scar going across it.
"Are you okay?" He asks softly, concern in his eyes.
I shake my head, still breathing heavily, the vicious headache making it hard to keep my eyes open. My hands tremble as they clutch my head, trying ease the pain.
"What happened?" Kid demands, his eyes searching mine. He looks panicked, deep worry in his eyes.
"Can't b-breathe." I manage to choke out, my breathing ragged.
"Your head?"
"H-headache." I stutter, forcing the words out through the agony, closing my eyes once more.
Gently, I feel his strong arms slowly lift me up from the ground. I let him, leaning my head against his chest, eyes shut tight. I hear him walk quietly across the ships floor and open the window.
Salty air invades my nose and I open my eyes, inhaling deeply. The air starts to soothe me and he holds me there, waiting until I feel better. After a while, my hands stop shaking but the headache is still there, a bit duller than before.
My eyes flutter closed as his warmth encases me. I let out a soft sigh, finally calming down. Slowly, I start to drift off.
As sleep starts to consume me, I hear a gentle voice whisper in my ear. "Goodnight, my little girl."
~
My head lays on a warm pillow, a small smile on my face. Half asleep, I snuggle closer, completely at ease.
But after a few moments I hear people whispering feverishly, causing me to frown. I try to go back to sleep to no avail. The talking continues, irritating me quite a lot. Groggily, I open my eyes and blink a few times, trying to keep them open.
Through the haze I see Law and Luffy angrily conversing with each other as they keep casting furtive glances towards me. I internally roll my eyes and fall back onto my soft pillow, trying to find peace once more.
"Are you awake?" A voice rumbles, my pillow vibrating. I shoot up, alarmed, eyes a bit wide and see Kid smirking down at me.
I let out a gasp and tear myself away from him, quickly standing up. He watches me, amused and I glare at him. "What the hell?" I whisper-yell.
He rolls his eyes, getting up from the couch and stretching. "Don't you remember what happened last night?"
At this, Luffy and Law stare at us with blazing anger in their eyes. "What?!" They whisper-yell.
I shake my head at the two. "I almost passed out yesterday. I couldn't breath. Kid helped me to the window for fresh air." I say, dimly recalling what had happened though I don't remember completely. I thank my headache for that. Note the sarcasm.
They visibly relax but their glares never leave Kid. My frustration at their weirdness has been building up these past few days. "What the hell is wrong with you guys?! Seriously, you're starting to freak me out by the way you've all been acting lately." I exclaim, crossing my arms.
But they seem to ignore my outburst, staring at me intently.
"What?" I huff with an annoyed look.
"You look nice with your hair down." Luffy says, a smile on his face.
My hands fly to my hair which must look like a birds nest. I only ever have my hair down in battle but never at any other point in time. I turn to scowl at Kid. "Where's my dagger?"
"You mean this?" He smirks, holding it in his hands and dangling it down at me teasingly.
"Give it back, Kiddie!" I jump up, trying to catch it.
"Why should I?" He laughs.
"I need it!"
"For what?"
"To kill you!" I snap as I jump, lurching myself at him. I tackle him to the ground, fury in my eyes. I wrestle with his arms but it's useless.
Haven't I mentioned before that I'm terrible at hand to hand combat? Well that's because I don't have as much physical strength. Especially compared to Luffy, Law, and Kid.
As we fall to the floor, Hancock wakes up in surprise. A moment later, there's a knock on the door. "Is everything alright in there?" A Marine asks.
"Of course." Hancock responds casually but with authority in her voice, despite the fact that she just woke up. "Now leave me in peace and don't come knocking at my door again." She says icily and we all hold our breaths, waiting for him to leave. Finally, he does while muttering a jumble of apologies.
I let out a sigh and realize I'm still sitting on Kid. I quickly snatch my dagger out of his hands and stand up. Quickly smoothing my hair, I deftly slide the dagger into it, keeping it in place. I turn to face Hancock who looks at me furiously.
"What were you two doing?" She demands.
"Kid stole my dagger." I state simply, looking her straight in the eyes, coldly.
She glances at Kid before her eyes seem to brighten. "Fine by me. As long as you stay away from my Luffy."
I roll my eyes and settle back onto the couch, wrapping a blanket around me as Luffy continues to explore everything in the room. Law closes his eyes, leaning against the wall. Kid just stares at me.
"What?"
"You look like a slug." He says, motioning to the blanket wrapped around me.
"Thanks for the compliment." I say sarcastically.
"You're welcome." He says cheekily. I stare at him, dumbfounded. "What?" He asks.
I shake my head. "That's the first time you've ever said something in a kinda cheery and joking way. Honestly, I was beginning to think you were a robot with no emotions other than anger."
He scowls at me. "So? I'm trying to be nice now. Got a problem with that?"
I look at his flustered expression, amused. "You're actually trying to be nice?"
"Obviously." He rolls his eyes. "We're technically allies at the moment. We shouldn't be trying to rip each other's throats like we would've been doing under different circumstances."
"I never thought you could actually be nice." I snort.
He glowers at me. "Apparently, you can't."
"You got that right." I grin.
He rolls his eyes once more and I laugh. Both of us know that I've been opening up lately, though I'm still cautious. But I feel comfortable around these people now and so I'm trying to be nicer. After all, they are helping me save him.
"Anyway, how did you end up at Dressrosa Academy?" He inquires.
I sigh. "Well, we've already escaped so I guess I'll tell you. But you have to tell me your reason first."
"I destroyed a Marine ship."
I nod my head. "I destroyed nine Marine ships."
"Nine?!"
I shrug my shoulders. "I was blinded by rage after he was taken to be executed. So I took out my anger on those who caused it. In the end, I destroyed the Marine ships I encountered a while after he was taken."
He shakes his head. "You're unbelievable." He laughs.
"I know." I smile.
"Who exactly is he anyway?" Kid asks curiously.
I'm silent for a moment and I watch him, his dark eyes looking into mine. He looks more relaxed than when I first met him. I small smile lights my face as I recall how we first met. He'd stormed into the limousine, furious and almost immediately, we both began to insult each other. But now, I trust him. Though not completely yet, I'm starting to.
I look up at the ceiling, memories flashing through my head of the past, long before I went to Dressrosa Academy. Good and bad. So many are filled with pain and agony, but those that are cheerful make up for that. His smiling face flashes through my head, filling me with joy as my heart clenches in pain.
"My brother." I finally whisper.
~
Poke.
Poke.
Poke.
My eyes fly open in rage. Next to me, Luffy leans against the couch, poking me relentlessly.
"What?" I seethe, trying to keep my eyes open.
"I'm bored." He whines.
I sit up on the couch and glance at the clock. 7 AM. I turn back to scowl at him. "Why'd you wake me up so early?"
"I was hungry."
"Was?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
He crosses his arms, pouting. "I still am."
I sigh, getting up and stretching. I walk over and pick up my bag which was propped up against the couch. Digging through, I find a chocolate bar and toss it to him.
His eyes brighten. "Thanks, (Y/N)!"
I shoot him a small smile. "No problem, Luff."
He freezes. "Luff?"
I grin sheepishly. "A nickname. If you don't like it, I won't call you that."
He shakes his head, a happy look on his face. "You can call me that!"
"Oi, Strawhat-ya. Keep it down." Law mutters, annoyed.
"You too, little girl." Kid huffs.
"Quit your complaining, you two." I snap. "Get up. We have a long day ahead of us."
"Can we play a game?" Luffy begs.
He looks at me hopefully and I can't help but say yes. "Fine." I sigh. "What game?"
"Let's ask each other questions." He beams. "And we both have to answer. We can only skip a question once."
My brows furrow. Is this really a game?
At this, Kid and Law's ears perk up. "We'll play too." They say in unison, turning to glare at each other a moment later.
"We'll ask you questions, (Y/N) and then you ask us a question." Law says.
"I'll go first!" Luffy says enthusiastically. "Who's your best friend?"
"My brother." I reply automatically, not having to put much thought into my response.
"Other than him." He says, demanding an answer.
"I honestly can't choose." I say thoughtfully. "All of you are."
The three of them turn to glare at one another other but quickly turn back to me. "Have you ever been in a relationship before?" Law asks.
I shake my head. "Never."
They all abruptly smile but Kid quickly asks his question without a hint of hesitation. "Who do you like?"
"I don't like people. Normally, I try to avoid them. But you guys are great friends so in a way, I like you three."
"But who do you like like?" He inquires.
I think for a moment. Is there really anyone who I like like?
I look at the three of them for a moment, studying them. Memories resurface as I think deeply about their personalities.
My face heats up suddenly. I do like someone now that I realize it. I don't think I'm ever going to fully accept that fact though.
"Skip." I reply, not wanting to answer. A look of frustration and disappointment takes over their features but I shrug it off. "My turn!" I get straight to the point. "Why have you three been acting weird around me lately?"
"Skip." They say simultaneously, their faces flushing a deep color of red.
Well, all that was pointless.
~
I twirl the dagger in my hand around nervously. My eyes keep watching the clock, moments ticking away.
Five minutes left.
I glance out the window, Marineford getting closer with each passing second.
We're so close.
"You really love that dagger, don't you?" A voice points out, breaking me out of my thoughts.
I look away from the window to see Luffy. I glance down at the dagger that's so important to me. "It's my treasure." I admit in a soft voice.
My heart warms and my lips curl up in a smile as I stare at the small object. It's helped me through so much and is my most valuable possession.
I look back up to see him grinning at me. He takes off his straw hat. "This is my treasure. I'll never let anyone ruin it."
My eyes widen as I remember how he'd put it on my head a week ago, when I broke down in front of him. "Then why'd you let me wear it?"
"I trust you, (Y/N)." He smiles.
I look into his wide, innocent eyes. The emotions they display are not false. He looks at me trust and joy, accepting me for who I am, though he doesn't know yet.
I turn away, hiding my face. My emotions threaten to let loose along with tears that threaten to fall.
Luffy...will you leave me once you find out who I am?
I close my eyes shut tight, dread consuming me. It's steel grip clenches at my heart and a tear escapes my eye. My hand flies up to my mouth as I choke back a sob.
Please...don't leave me once this is all over.
A knock at the door causes me to open my eyes. Kid, Law, and Luffy all stare at me expectantly as Hancock replies to the Marine.
"Are you ready?" Kid asks, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I take a deep breath, calming my self. I hastily wipe away my tear and compose myself before turning around to face them. Determination flows through me and I nod my head.
"Ready."
The next second goes by in a blur.
Luffy slams his fist through the window, destroying the wall. My hand flies up to my hair, immediately taking out the dagger. In a flash, the four of us have jumped out the hole and hit the stone ground, running.
Startled, the Marines stare at us in shock but start to charge at us. I prepare myself, adrenaline pumping through my veins and I slice each enemy coming at me without so much of a glance.
I'm too preoccupied fighting that I don't notice when our ships resurface from the water a moment later. I don't dare look back to watch them and continue to defend myself.
A large Marine comes charging at me, sword raised while another approaches from behind. Thinking quick, I swipe the feet of the one behind me while slashing my dagger across the large one, who collapses. But there are so many of them that I get cuts and scratches along the way.
Through the chaos, I risk a glance up at the execution tower, trying to find him.
And I do.
He squints at me in disbelief, trying to stand but the Seastone shackles bind him down and he can only watch.
Wait for me.
Turning around, I kick a Marine in the chest, sending him flying backwards into his comrades as I fight my way forward, trying to get closer. Our friends from the ships join us, fighting off more of the Marines that continue to fight relentlessly. But I won't give up.
We won't give up.
I grit my teeth, determination in my eyes. But something catches my attention. Turning my head, I gaze at the water as two unfamiliar pirate ships appear.
There's an idiot red head and a revolutionary.
Shanks and Dragon.
I smile at the sight of them as Mihawk appears beside them as well as Doflamingo.
I look at the other two, surprised. "Are you Warlords helping us?" I shout over the pandemonium.
"Fufufu." Doflamingo laughs. "You were always my favorite student."
"I'm here to duel with Zoro." Mihawk says, arms crossed. "To see how much stronger he's gotten these past two years.
"And you two?" I ask Shanks and Dragon.
"Here to help Luffy!" Shanks smiles. "I arrived too late last time." He says, his expression suddenly turning serious.
"I'm here to help Sabo, and to save my ally." Dragon replies.
"Ally?!" I yelp, completely shocked.
Dragon grins. "Your 'brother' made an alliance with us two years ago. Did he not tell you?"
I know that he left two years ago to become a pirate and I saw his bounty rise as time passed by. I'd always run to Yuki-san waving the paper in the air shouting gleefully. She'd look up, an amused smile on her face. We heard of his capture by the Marine's six months ago. But I never knew he'd made an alliance with the Revolutionary Army.
I shoot him a thankful smile as I take on the pressing army of Marines. But more allies continue to join us and manage to keep them busy enough for me to start running towards the execution platform.
I force my legs to move faster though my left leg makes it difficult. I clench my teeth and force myself forward. Kid, Law and Luffy follow behind me, taking on the enemies that try to get through and attack me.
But I abruptly stop in my tracks causing them to look up as well.
My eyes widen.
No.
Fleet Admiral Akainu stands before us, malice in his eyes. He grins evilly. "It ends here."
No!
The next thing I know it, a large magma ball is flying straight at us.
The people I know and love stand behind me.
Yuki-san waits for me at home, expecting my return.
My brother is just in front of me, waiting to be saved.
It doesn't end here.
I don't think.
I react.

I literally just realized that the language of this story was put under Turkish. -_-
So if any weird books have been showing up in the recommended section because you're reading this story, I'm sorry. I forgot to change the language to English. {I'm still pretty new to Wattpad and discover new things all the time.} But it'll probably take like a week for it to actually change. {my Wattpad app can't comprehend anything.}
But anyways, sorry!
