I pick up my dagger. The hilt engraved with foreign words and designs is cold against my skin. My fingers wrap around it, tucking it neatly into my hair that has grown longer over the past months.
I look at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes are hard, staring back unforgivingly.
It's all happening so soon. But so late.
I turn on my heel, boots clicking against the floor. My dark skirt whirls at the movement. I pick up my black leather jacket, slipping into it and walk out.
Everyone's busy. They all get ready, going over the plan and making sure everything's in place. Law and Kid's crews arrived the same day we came to this island. Rayleigh arrived two days later and bubble coated all of our ships, though I haven't met him yet. The Navy will be arriving soon to bring Boa Hancock to the execution which is a five days from now. Apparently, it'll take the same amount of time to arrive at Marineford.
I walk onto the Thousand Sunny's deck and spot who I assume must be Rayleigh as he speaks with Luffy. Curious, I walk over to them. Luffy catches sight of me and waves. I smile, my eyes softening and greet him.
Luffy turns to Rayleigh. "Oi, Rayleigh, this is (Y/N). She's a part of my crew!" He beams.
I shake my head. "I haven't joined yet, Luffy."
Though I really do want to.
After the night I broke down in front him, I've learned to trust him a lot more. He's a caring and protective Captain who doesn't let anyone hurt his friends. Ussop and Chopper told me many stories of how each one of them were saved. Luffy truly does have a kind, loving heart. But he can be fierce when he must.
Rayleigh smiles a bit at me. "You're the one who started all of this?" He motions to the people in haste, getting everything ready.
I look down at my feet in shame. "I never wanted them to help or get mixed up in my mess. They chose to even after the many times I pushed them away." A small smile finds its way onto my face. "They refused to leave me alone and decided to help."
He lets out a chuckle. "You must have a kind heart if Luffy's decided to help you."
Luffy grins, wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me closer and causing my eyes to widen in surprise. "Shishishi. (Y/N) is joining my crew!" He laughs. "And that's final."
I shoot a glare at the Rubber head but can't help but smile.
I'm actually being accepted by people.
Just the thought is enough to make my smile even wider.
Suddenly, a cold shiver runs down my spine. I look up and over Rayleigh's shoulder and expect to see Hancock glaring at me, but instead I find Law. His eyes are scowling angrily at the arm Luffy's put around me and I can't help but furrow my brows in confusion.
"Is something wrong, (Y/N)?" Rayleigh asks, breaking me out of my thoughts.
I shake my head. "Nothing. Just a bit...worried, I guess." I laugh a bit nervously, still questioning Law's look.
"I told you not to worry!" Luffy frowns at me, though a smile lights his face. "We are going to save him and you're going to join my crew." His arm doesn't move and I can feel Law still staring at us.
Why the hell is he so angry?
"Law!" I call him over. "Cow Hat, come over here."
He continues to glower at us but he walks over anyway. "Yes, (Y/N)-ya?" He sounds irritated.
"Have you met Rayleigh yet?"
Law turns to him. "Trafalgar Law." He nods in greeting.
"So you're helping, (Y/N) as well?" Rayleigh inquires.
"Yes." Law replies, a bored look on his face.
"And for what reason?"
Laws face tinges pink. "Because she's my friend." He replies reluctantly.
"Are you sure it's not for any other reasons?" A voice asks. We turn and see Nami with a knowing look in her eyes, holding her Clima Tact.
Law's face turns a darker shade. "What's it to you?" He glares.
"Nothing at all." She says innocently though the look in her eyes is anything but. "What do you think Kid will do if he finds out?"
My brows furrow. What are they talking about?
I ignore them as they continue to talk - more like argue - and realize Luffy's arm is still wrapped around me. "You can let go now, Luffy."
He doesn't. "But why?"
I look at him startled. "What do you mean?"
He thinks hard for a moment. "I don't want you to leave me." He says finally.
I let out a small laugh. "Don't worry, I won't. So can you please let go?"
"Fine." He mumbles, obeying. But his eyes suddenly light up. "Let's play a game!"
"Luffy." I sigh. "We're leaving in a half hour. We don't have time for games."
"Please?" He begs.
I roll my eyes, irritated but give in. "Fine. Only for five minutes then. After we go back to making sure everything's in place. Got it?"
"Got it!" He cheers. He grabs my arm and pushes us past Nami and Law. Rayleigh already left to the kitchen.
"Oi, Strawhat-ya." Law says, grabbing my wrist while Luffy continues to hold my other arm. "Where're you two going?"
"To play a game!" Luffy replies, still smiling goofily, though I catch a hint of anger in his eyes that disappears less than a second later.
Law turns to look me in the eyes. "Do you really want to?"
I grin sheepishly. "Nope. But Luffy's my friend so I'm going to anyway."
He smirks. "Wouldn't you rather spend time with me?"
"No!" Luffy whines. "(Y/N) is going to play a game with me!"
While the two of them bicker, I roll my eyes, annoyed and hit them on the head. "Stop fighting. We don't have much time. Let's just do one thing and get back to work."
Law turns his head away. "Tch. Whatever."
"Let's play tag!" Luffy exclaims. He taps me on the nose before I can say anything. "You're it!" He laughs before running away. Law, clearly confused, follows after him.
I fume. "I'll get you, you rubber head!" I scream, but Law isn't too far away from me so I tag him instead.
"I never agreed to this, (Y/N)-ya!" He yells, as I run away.
"Too bad! I never did either." I laugh, dashing across the deck, catching up to Luffy.
"Room." I hear Law say behind me. My eyes widen when a blue dome surrounds the ship. Before I can comprehend anything, I'm standing back where I was just a minute ago, an arm wrapped around my waist and my back against a hard chest. I tilt my head up, seeing his dark eyes looking into mine and him smirking down at me. "You're it."
"Cheater!" I scream, stomping my foot down on his toes, but he doesn't let go.
I hate how I don't have enough muscle strength.
"What's all this ruckus about." Someone says gruffly. We turn our eyes up, seeing a tired red head walking out of the kitchen. When he sees us, his expression turns murderous with anger. "What're you two doing?!"
I heave a frustrated sigh. "Law isn't letting go of me! We're playing tag and now I'm it." I slam my foot hard onto his foot once again, my frustration growing.
Kid jumps down onto the deck, rage in his eyes. I look at him, puzzled.
Why's everyone so grumpy today?
First Law.
Then Luffy.
And now Kid.
Men really are confusing.
Before I even know what's happening, Kid's fist connects with Law's jaw, causing him to let go of me. I manage to escape, but trip and fall onto the floor coated in bubble. I stand up, angered. "Shut up!" I shout, as the two start screaming and fighting. "You two idiots might destroy the bubble coating on the ship!"
They ignore me and continue to battle. Seething with rage, I slam my fists against their heads, finally shutting them up. Nami watches from the sidelines, amused as Luffy comes running back after hearing the commotion. I pull him in by the collar, wanting an explanation from the three.
"What is wrong with you guys?" I scowl. "All of you have been acting so weird." Their cheeks tinge pink and my brows furrow further. "Are you guys sick or something?" I ask, worry in my voice. I gently press my hand against each of their foreheads and their faces turn shades darker. I pull back, trying to figure them out. "Why won't any of you tell me anything?" I huff.
"You're so innocent, (Y/N)." Nami laughs, walking up to us.
I narrow my eyes at her. "What do you mean?"
"They obviously l-", she gets cut off.
"The Marine ship is arriving at the other end of the island!" Rayleigh shouts over the railing. "You four should be going there now. Hancock is waiting."
"Thank you for your help." I say. He nods his head and jumps off the ship, leaving to inform the others. I turn back to the other three. "Let's go."
~
I let out a small frustrated sigh.
I can't believe that I'm stuck in this thing!
The luggage carriers Hancock is bringing is the only way for Law, Kid, and I to get inside. Luffy's hiding under her coat at the moment, while we're jammed in these.
I hear a Marine rolling the carrier I'm in into a room, Hancock not far behind. Finally, she shoos them off and closes and locks the door behind her. After a few minutes, Luffy's opens my bag.
I gasp for air. "About time." I glare into his wide, dark eyes.
"Shishsi." He laughs. "No problem." He says with a grin, obviously not understanding.
I roll my eyes, but he moves onto opening the other carriers as Hancock watches Luffy's with love struck eyes. Law and Kid come out gasping for air just like I did.
I small smile plays on my lips as hope fills me. "Will we really make it?" I whisper.
Hancock flips her black, silky hair. "Of course we will."
I stand up and stretch a bit, walking across the room towards the small ship window. I gaze out, seeing the island we were just at, slowly sink away from sight as the sun starts to set.
Excitement and nerves take over as anxiety starts to settle in. "We will save him. Right?"
I turn my head and see Luffy frowning at me. "How many times do I have to tell you." He smiles a bit. "He's going to live and you're joining my crew."
I shake my head. "I just- I can't believe I'm actually going to be able to save him."
"You better believe it." Kid scowls.
"Well, what do we do now?" Law asks, leaning against the wall, his sword beside him.
"Let's play a game!" Luffy cheers a bit too loud.
Someone knocks on the door and our eyes widen. "You idiot!" I mouth angrily at Luffy.
"Is everything alright in there?" A Marine asks.
"Why wouldn't it be? Now leave me to be in peace." Hancock replies in an annoyed voice and the Marine lets it go. We hear his footsteps receding and we relax.
I sigh, letting out a breath of relief. I turn back to look out the window. The sun is at the horizon, sinking low in the sky, below the deep blue ocean.
Just a few more days.
A smile lights my face.
Wait for me...
✥
A/N
It's small, I know, sorry. It's a filler.
I hope you people who ship (Y/N) with Law, Luffy, or Kid enjoyed this chapter.
It's probably bad but...I tried to display their personalities properly at the same time so...yeah this is the outcome.
I apologize if it's horribly awful.
(Y/N) may seem out of character to some of you, but days have passed since she let loose her emotions to Luffy. She started building her trust long ago if some of you don't realize it. But she's more comfortable now than she was before because she now knows what kind of person everyone truly is. She still is cold towards others at some points. But she has known them for five months, so she is a bit used to them.
