Run!

"M-Morty, let's g-euuugh-o already." Rick stumbled into Morty's bedroom, shoving the door open as he belched his way through his sentences. "C'mon, M-Mo-euuugh-rty." Morty shot up after his grandpa ripped the blankets from him, scaring the ever-living shit out of him. "A-Alright, g-g-geez, Rick." Pulling on a pair of pants, Morty rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
"Aw, geez, R-Rick. Mom's gon-gonna kill you." His soft footsteps followed Rick out to the garage. Rick just belched, "I-I'll fix it l-later, d-euuugh-on't worry." With a dismissive wave, he clambered into the drivers side of the ship, slamming the door behind him and chugging from his seemingly bottomless flask as Morty struggled to climb in, still exhausted.

"W-Where are we going, an-anyway, Rick?" He looked curiously over to the older man, wondering why he decided 2am was a great time for an adventure. But then again, he knew he should be used to it by now. He's gone days without sleep due to constant adventures. "Sh-Shut it, Morty." With a heavy sigh, Morty propped his head against the window, not bothering to respond as he fell asleep.

"M-Morty, you got- you gotta wake up, M-euuugh-orty." With a groan, the teenager sat up straight, seeing his grandfather leaning over him, shaking his body. "H-Huh?" Rolling his eyes, Rick sighed, "We-We're here for something im-important, M-euugh-orty." Rick must've been drinking a great deal. His stutters and burps were becoming more frequent.

The gravity seemed to be heavier here as Morty hopped to the ground, regretting his decision as pain shot up both legs. "Ah! R-Rick!" He rubbed his legs, trying to get the pain to disperse, "Wh-Why the hell didn't- didn't you w-warn me, you ass?" Rick took another huge gulp from his flask, "Y-You got- You gotta be sm-smarter, M-euuuugh-orty." Grumbling, Morty followed after Rick, walking into what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse.

All around the outside, massive, heavily armed aliens stood in silence. Their four eyes each stared at the duo, their massive muscles and grunt-like faces making Morty extremely wary. "Uh, R-Rick? Are you- Are you sure this is s-safe?" With a grunt and an eye roll, Rick gave an annoyed nod before pressing the doors to the building, opening them and walking in.

Inside, more people stood. Each was heavily armed and glared at the two before going back to their business. Rick simply shrugged, not faltering in his stride as he continued, knowing exactly where he wanted to go. He made his way to a woman who was a light shade of purple. Her eyes were a vibrant green, seemingly glowing in the room.
"Yo, Yvanna!" She smiled, "Rick~" She seemed to be flirting with him for a moment, accentuating her movements, making Rick do a double take before he pulled his flask out yet again. "I have everything you asked for." Rick muttered "and more" before he continued to inspect the weapons before him.

"C-C-euugh-ool." He held up a gun, aimed it at the wall, and fired. What remained was a massive gaping hole before it closed up. "R-Rick, wh-what was that?" Morty's eyes were wide. "Th-The walls are de-euuugh-signed to rebuild after t-euuuugh-esting weapons on them." Morty nodded as though he understood, but he clearly didn't.

As Rick continued to prod the weapons, inspecting them closely, Yvanna leaned over slightly, causing her jacket to pull away from her chest. As Rick looked up, his eyes went wide. Clearly, Yvanna took no notice as she pulled up another gun and set it near to her hip. "M-Morty, c-come here."

Rick and Morty slowly walked outside, explaining that Rick had to go grab the payment from his ship. "Gee, R-Rick, what do- what do you need those for?"

Harshly, Rick grabbed Morty's collar and whispered really closely, "M-Morty, she works for the federation. I saw- I saw the ID card, M-Morty, when she- when she leaned forward. We need- We need to run, now Morty!"

Rick grabbed his hand and started sprinting, Morty stumbling behind him as he struggled to keep pace. They were on the complete opposite side from the doors they had come in from and the building was massive.

"Hey! Rick Sanchez, dimension C137, get your ass back here! You're wanted for crimes against the Galactic Federation!" Morty didn't need to look to know that Yvanna was chasing after them, lasers firing all around them.

"C-C'mon, Morty! Run!" Rick was genuinely terrified. He had no idea this was a trap and he'd come unprepared. He had left his gun in the ship to avoid difficulties, and he couldn't stop running long enough to pull his portal gun out. That would cause him to lose his pace.

"Shit! M-Morty, please!" Rick looked back at Morty for a moment, his eyes full of fear, before they turned back to the front.

Morty began to freak out. "R-Rick, I'm try- I'm trying!"

"Try harder, M-" Rick was completely cut off as he felt Morty stumble harshly. "Morty, c'mon! We gotta-" Turning his head, he saw Morty clutching his side, just above his hip. Blood began to stain his yellow shirt as he fell, whimpering, in a heap on the cold ground.

"Morty!!!" As he turned to help his grandson, the only person to ever care enough about his grandpa to withstand his brutish anger long enough to discover what was wrong, he felt a hot, painful pressure in his gut.

He fell to the ground, a few feet away from his Morty, clutching his stomach. He felt warm liquid on his hand and didn't have to look to know.

       "M-Morty..."
