Clutching his gut with one hand, Rick fell onto his knees, supporting his weight with his free hand before he looked over to Morty. He was shaking, crying in agony. Yvanna was standing a ways behind him, talking to somebody. 

       Crawling slowly, Rick made his way to Morty, falling to the ground beside him. He dragged Morty towards himself, "Shh, M-Morty. It-It's gonna be okay, I promise... I... I..." 

       Hot tears of frustration and anger fell down Rick's face. He had promised never to express emotion in front of his Morty. He wasn't going to be that kind of person. He was going to be brave for his grandson.

      But right now, he couldn't do it. "R-R-Rick, y-you said it was s-safe." Morty looked up at Rick, his eyes full of mistrust and hurt. Tears were falling down his chubby cheeks as his eyes went wide at the sight of his grandfather, his Rick, crying. "R-Rick?"

      Breathing heavily, one hand still pressed to his gut, "I-I'm s-so sorry, Mo-Morty. I- God damnit, I'm so f-f-fucking sorry, M-M-Morty." He was struggling to breathe, knowing this was something he couldn't make it out of.

       Morty started to shake heavily, color slowly draining from his face. "R-Rick! It hurts s-so-o bad." Rick buried his face in Morty's hair, feeling woozy as he showed the only bit of affection in his life to Morty. He planted a quick kiss on the poor boy's head, "It's al-alright, M-Morty." His voice was barely a whisper now.

       Morty was losing blood fast, faster than Rick, but right now he was Rick's number one priority. "We-We're gonna," Rick sat up, gasping as he clutched at his side, "we're gonna g-get y-you home, k-kid." He pulled his portal gun out, shakily punching in coordinates, and shot it on the ground beneath him. They fell through as they heard Yvanna screaming for "somebody to grab them".
