Virgil stood in his dorm's doorway with a slight, bored frown.

"What is it, kiddo?" Patron yawned from behind him, already laying back down in preparation for falling back asleep.

"Dunno, just got a sudden whiff of BO and smugness." Virgil grimaced.

Patton and Virgil shared a look before nodding, "Jock."

Virgil began to shut the door before a foot stood in the way, causing the ginger to slam the door on said foot.

There came a yelp and Virgil snorted before opening it to a- tall boy in only a shirt and boxers. The shorter looked up and cocked a brow, "Can I help you?"

"As a matter of fact, yes," The newcomer grinned a blinding white smile, making Virgil groan, "Ah- hello, my name is Roman." Roman grinned again.

"I'm not big on social gathering if you're inviting us to a club thing." Virgil leaned against the door with folded arms and a bored look.

"Er- no." Roman cleared his throat, "Where is your ice machine?"

Virgil blinked in surprise before snorting, "Down the hall and to the left."

Roman smiled with a dip of his head, "Thank you, good s-"

Virgil shut the door on him before he could finish his sentence.

"Virgil! That was rude!" Patron scolded, sitting up again.

"How? He's the one who started it." Virgil shrugged.

"Started what? The conversation?" Patton frowned.

"Um- yeah?" Virgil cocked an eyebrow in confusion.

Patton sighed and folded his legs together, "Kiddo, you've gotta start being nicer to people."

"I'm nice to you." Virgil defended himself.

"Well- yes, that's a good start," Patton nodded, "But it needs to be more than just me- you should try joining some clubs?" The blonde boy offered a small grin, batting his eyes.

Virgil rolled his eyes with a groan, "Why? And- what, you just expect me to waltz into one in the beginning of the year?"

"Well, it could help you open up- and sure, why not! You- could join one of my clubs?" Patton suggested sweetly.

Virgil smiled slightly at the boy's passion before sighing, "Fine- maybe- one club."

Patton squealed and clapped his hands together excitedly, "Okay!"

Virgil turned on his heel and plopped down back onto his bed.

"Don't you have class?" Patton cocked his head from where he was bouncing slightly on his bed across the ginger.

"Well, yeah- and?" Virgil smirked.

Patton sighed, "Come on, kiddo, you've gotta go to-"

"You're older than me by a year, Patton." Virgil snorted.

"Which is still older! So, you're a kiddo." Patton giggled.

Virgil couldn't help but smile as he shook his head. He opened his mouth to speak, but swallowed his words as a knock came from the door. He let out a groan, "Patton?"

Patton cocked an eyebrow, "I'm still in a onesie, Virg."

"Since when have you been embarrassed about being seen in a onesie?" Virgil flopped down on his bed.

"I-" Patton nodded, "Okay, you've got a point there."

Virgil clicked his tongue and offered finger guns, staring up at the ceiling.

The knock came again and Patton hopped out of bed, "Coming!" He called.

Patton bustled towards the door best he could and looked through the peephole, seeming surprised.

"Who is it?" Virgil whispered sharply at Patton's surprise.

"Oh- oh just that boy from earlier." Patton opened the door as Virgil sat up.

Roman gave a friendly wave, "Hello aga- oh- oh you're not-" He shook his head, "That's fine!- Um, I couldn't find the ice machine?" He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.

"Oh, it's a tad hard to find- down the hall and to the right, you-"

"Right? Oh- I was told left." Roman whistled.

"Oh- I see-" Patton glanced behind him and gave Virgil a look, the boy grinning innocently as the blonde looked back, offering a wide grin, "Well, I'll just have my friend Virgil help you down the hall!"

There was an audible, "What?" As Virgil stumbled out of bed.

"Come on, Virg." Patton opened the door wider to reveal the ginger, tangled up in his comforter on the ground.

Roman looked down at the other with an amused smile.

"Stop looking so smug," Virgil wrangled his comforter off of him, "Come on," He got to his feet and brushed himself off, briskly walking past Patton and giving him a glare.

"Go to class after you help him." Patton pressed his lips together as Virgil passed, picking up his shoulder-strap bag as he walked out.

"Yeah, yeah." Virgil grumbled, the door shutting behind him, he nodded down the hall, "Follow me."

Roman nodded and quietly fell in step beside the boy.

They silently walked towards the student lounge until Roman cleared his throat.

"So- you have morning classes?" Roman hummed.

"Yeah." Virgil responded shortly.

"Ah, yeah, that sucks." Roman clicked his tongue.

"Not really," Virgil shrugged, tucking the tips of fingers in his front pockets, "I'm a morning guy."

"Oh- oh, yeah, no, as am I-"

"I can see that." Virgil glanced over, looking the boy up and down.

Roman just now seemed to become aware of the fact that he was only in boxers, as his cheeks dusted red and his hands self-consciously tightened into fists.

Virgil looked forward again, turning right on his heel and pulling his ID from his pocket, scanning it on the door's panel, unlocking it before he opened it into a room with glass walls, "I don't think I've seen you on this floor before," He kept the door open behind him, Roman uttering a thank you as he opened it, shutting it behind him.

Nobody was in the lounge yet but it looked fantastic/ same as any floor, but better kept. There were a few beanbags set up by a Wii of all things, the controllers and games set up below a platform that the TV sat on. Behind that whole set were two chairs and a table, pressed to the wall with a window in between the chairs, looking out upon a large campus of dorms. Boardgames were set up around the table. And to the right of this was where Roman and Virgil stood a few feet away from a fridge and a counter with a microwave on it.

"That was a question- meant to be a question- more of an accusation." Virgil shrugged, "The Ice Machine's with the fridge."

"Oh- oh! Of course," Roman pulled a plastic baggie out of thin air, and Virgil decided not to question where he'd been holding it, though one could assume it same form the pocket on his shirt, as he filled it with ice, "I'm from one downstairs."

"Makes sense." Virgil nodded.

"Meaning?" Roman cocked an eyebrow while still racing the fridge.

"Nothing, I just hadn't seen you before." Virgil shrugged, leaning against the wall.

"Right." Roman nodded.

"So, how'd you miss this? Isn't every floor set up the same?" Virgil smirked in amusement, "The walls are glass- I can see the elevator over there- it's pretty central."

Roman's face flushed, "I don't have a card for this floor and it would have been stranger to ask someone to unlock something for me."

"Mm, alright, fair." Virgil nodded, carding a hand through his hair, "Did you just wander around between the two times you asked?" He chuckled.

"I waited a reasonable amount of time." Roman shrugged as he capped off the bag, zipping it shut and placing it in his head.

Virgil cocked an eyebrow, "What happened to your head?" He paused, "If you don't mind me asking." He added quietly.

"Oh- um-" Roman flushed, "N-Nothing-"

"Okay." Virgil nodded understandingly, "Ready?"

"For what?" Roman looked confused.

"To go back to your floor?" Virgil squinted.

"Oh- uh- yeah." The brunette made his way towards the door, heading out of it, holding it open for Virgil.

"Thanks." Virgil mumbled as he headed towards the elevators, Roman quick behind him as the door slowly shut on his trail.

Roman was beside him again as they walked towards the elevators, "I thought your room was—" He motioned behind them.

"I have class, remember?" Virgil stopped as they reached the elevators, him pushing the down button.

"R-Right!" Roman nodded quickly.

They stood there in silence for several moments.

"Hit my...head with a uh- a tennis-ball." Roman cleared his throat.

"What?" Virgil cocked his head as he looked at Roman, the brunette still holding the ice to his head.

"It's how I hit my head-" Roman mumbled, "I was bouncing a tennis-ball on the wall and uh, didn't catch it one of the times."

Virgil paused a long moment, before smiling widely and letting out a laugh, "Oh my god..."

"I-It was an accident!" Roman defended.

"You know," Virgil chuckled as the elevator doors opened and he stepped in, Roman following behind him, "You're not like a lot of the other football teammates I've met." The elevator doors shut and they began down.

"Meaning?" Roman frowned.

"You have shame." Virgil sniffed.

"E-Elaborate?" Roman put his free hand in his pocket.

Virgil leaned towards him, speaking slowly, "You get embarrassed very easily."

Roman's cheeks turned pink as the elevator doors opened on his floor.

"I rest my case." Virgil smirked.
