Chapter 1

(Reader's PoV)

It was my thirteenth birthday and my parents were driving me to the middle of the woods that we lived by. My parents told me to never go into the woods and that they would take me when I'm older. It's not likes they cared for me they never got me anything but an iPod for my tenth birthday. The only thing they ever did was feed me and buy me clothes when I needed them.

I was playing on my iPod in the car when the car slowed down to a stop. I looked up from my iPod and looked at my parents.

"Get out," my father commanded me. I got out of the vehicle and my parents sped away, turned around, and drove right past me the way we came from to our home.

Then it hit me. My parents abandoned me in the middle of the woods. If it were a poisonous snake I would be dead. I then grew angry at them and started to trudge home, planning my revenge. I asked the greek goddess Nemesis for help for she was the goddess of revenge.

(Time skip)

It was around noon when I started my march. Now it was around 8:00 p.m. and the sun was starting to set. (it is summer) I walked to the shed where dad kept all his medieval weapons. He had everything from swords to guillotines. After looking a bit I found the weapon I was looking for, a mace. (spiked ball connected to a handle by a chain. made of metal.) I grabbed the mace and headed for my house. I walked in and found my parents already asleep on the couch with wine glasses on the coffee table along with a bottle of wine. I grew even more angry because they had celebrated getting rid of me.

I then started swinging the mace and brought it down on my dad's head, killing him. My mom moved a little but didn't wake up. I started swinging the mace again and brought it down on her head.

I felt proud of what I did and knew I wouldn't get caught because we lived in the country with no neighbors. I looked down at my clothes and saw they were covered in blood but I didn't care it was my mark of freedom.

Then I realized where would I go, but shrugged the thought off and decided to get some waffles from the freezer because I was famished. When I turned around I saw that someone had been behind me and I jumped out of surprise but soon relaxed. I examined the person and saw that they had neon orange goggles, a mouth guard, messy brown hair, black gloves, a tan hoodie with striped sleeves and a blue hood, blue jeans, and black and white tennis shoes. I then realized he had a hatchet covered in blood.

"Your hatchet is covered in blood," I said calmly.

"And your mace is covered in blood," he replied just as calmly.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Ticci Toby, but call me Toby," he answered. "And your name is?

"(y/n) (l/n)," I replied.

"Interesting," Toby said. "Come with me. I'll take you to a place where there are people like us."

"What do you mean 'people like us'?" I questioned.

"I mean killers," Toby answered.

"Along with psychos," I added.

"How did you know?" Toby questioned.

"Why else would either of us be talking so calmly while holding bloody weapons," I answered.

"You have a point. Come on I'll show you to your new home," Toby said and started running away. I ran after him going into the woods and heading to my new home.
