Chapter 4

Amado's forelimbs strained against the chains, and circulation was probably being cut off. I walked over to him & his head bowed the best it could.

"No need to hurt yourself, pup," I whispered. "Please lift your head. By all means, you do not have to bow to me." My hand reached out, ruffling the fur on his head. His eyes still refused to look up. "Amado, if I free you from these chains and return you to your human form, do you promise to look up & answer some questions of mine?" Not hard questions, just what he thinks about some things and his understanding. Amado shook his head, & I could feel his embarrassment. It took me a moment, but I understood why he might be embarrassed. So I held back a chuckle and added "would you like me to 'cover'--" air quotations "--you, too?" Amado nodded in agreement at that. And with a snap of my fingers, the chains popped off & he was returning to his human form.

     "My lady--"

"Say no more," I interrupted, using light & shadows to cover him. So I couldn't actually make clothes, sue me. But that's a no-brainer. Cloth making, apparating, and sewing isn't one of my powers as the moon goddess. "Don't worry. While I may not be able to make clothes appear, I can alter and move light & shadows, so you're covered." I regained my composure & Amado regained his.

"Do you know who I am?" I asked.

"Yes. You are my true Luna, and are Deam Luna: Moon Goddess," Amado replied with confidence.

"You almost instantly recognized me. How, Amado?"

"You're the only responsible being to be paired with the whispers, my Luna. Not only that, but you appeared out of thin air before my eyes and you emanate this aura. It's not powerful, but celestial." Hm, never heard that before; I give off a celestial aura.

"Do you know what your name means and why your parents chose it?"

"Can you not read thoughts?" He shot back. Touchy subject.

"You promised. Now answer," I commanded in an authoritive tone.

Amado signed. "Yes, I know what it means & why I was named so. My maternal grandfather, shot unjustly as a bystander during a vampire-werewolf fight, had my name: Amado Jolyon. He died before I was born. Everyone loved him--he had a fitting name," Amado replied begrudgingly.

I nodded my head. "Do you know about packs? Not wolf but werewolf packs?"

"Yes. I learned about them in school. My family wasn't part of one, though. Both my parent's packs kicked them out when it was found out my mother, a vampire, was mated to my father a werewolf. Funny how these vampires even had a pack like werewolves but were still so prejudiced to eachother." It was quite upsetting: 2 beautiful creatures with prejudism hating eachother, kicking their own blood out because of it.

"What do you consider yourself, Amado?"

"I don't know. Certainly not vampire or werewolf. A hybrid, perhaps, despite the hate towards them, too. But then at times I don't even feel hybrid, and that I'm rather something else entirely. It just feels like me, Amado-Aurelius Jolyon Sandulf," Amado answered the best he could.

I squatted down. "I completely agree with you, Amado. I feel like you're a mixture of things and something else entirely. As you put it perfectly, you're Amado-Aurelius Jolyon Sandulf. You're fili mi."

     "My son," Amado breathed.
