6. Mi amada
Vatika POV
A voice is called out from behind. Turning around I see a white Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The car is one of the most sophisticated models with a price range on road of 5,175,000 rupees which is equivalent to 61,532.25 dollars. The strange white car clearly is giving ick but all I am getting are the flashbacks of omni van kidnapping.
Suddenly a head is seen out of the window. "Vatika you need a ride". Oh its Vyas, poking his head out of the window.
Author POV
Seeing the familiar head of her classmate, unconsciously Vatika released the breath she was holding. One cannot help but make the girls worry of everything. The society is technically not a safe space now.
"No it's fine Vyas". Vatika says to him and starts looking around for any rickshaw or bus, she is even considering to walk . "You know Vatika this strike is quite bad right now. The buses and auto rickshaw's are not working. And getting a train is also risky". Vyas says this all after getting down from his car. Both of them stands facing each other.
"I know you might not like me a much and riding my car is better than standing here and looking for any transport. Vatika your grandma will be tensed if you don't reach home on time". Hearing Vyas's words, Vatika considered the reality. It is indeed true, Vyas and she do not have any bloody enemity. It is just a small dissatisfaction.
"Let's go Vyas". Vatika says. Vyas smiles and goes to open the car door. Vatika enters the car and adjusts herself in the seat. Vyas approaches his seat and closes the door. "Dilip chacha chalo". Vyas says. The car starts and hit the road.
Both of them sit in silence. "Thank you Vyas for your help". Vatika says interrupting their silence. "Your welcome". Vyas coolly replies back.
"Anyway how did you know that I live with my grandmother". Vatika asks back just to calm her curiosity. Vyas chokes on his spit. Choking, he sees her looking at him and raising her eyebrows. "Ha ha... Vatika everyone knows that " Vyas replies back and laughs."Ok...."
Vatika replies.
"So how is everything going in life ?" Vyas says cutting the silence."Fine, I will say". Vatika replies back. She is really arrogant, Vyas thought in his head. On the other hand, Vatika is tensed because she is practically riding a stranger's car. It will be a headache if any nosy aunties sees me getting out of the car, Vatika thinks.
Suddenly the car becomes turbulent due to some potholes on the road. "Vatika !". Vyas shouts and shields her with his arms to protect her from bumping her head. Vatika can hear her heart beating rapidly in her chest. She became quite scared when Vyas shouted and held her.
"Dekh ke chalao". Vyas says to the driver."Sorry Vyas baba".
Vyas turns his head and looks at Vatika. She is already looking at him. Both sits there without uttering a single world. Just their eyes talking to each other. Like there is so much to tell but no words to utter. "You are not hurt right" Vyas says checking upon her. Vatika shakes her head in denial and releases herself from Vyas's embrace.
"Vyas baba hum pohoch gaya" (Vyas sir we reached) the driver says. Vatika picks up her bag and once again thnks Vyas before existing the car. They say goodbye and the car goes away leaving dust behind.
He is not that bad, Vatika thought later that day. But I never told Vyas my address.
Vatika contemplates later on.
