"Okay, baby. So, I know you've never really seen me at work, but a lot of realtors at my company bring their spouses and partners to show houses. My firm is pretty lenient with things like that because of the random work calls." He says as the two of you wait by the entrance of the house. You nod your head as you listen to Jimin's words. "Now, about what Candace said about you helping me show the house, that's not the reason I brought you with me. I don't want to pressure you by having you help me show a house. I just wanted you here for support... and so I could take you back home more easily." He says with a wide smile. You nod your head once more, smiling up at him. You start to yawn, glancing down at the time on your phone.
Midnight.
"I still can't believe they make you work at midnight. Isn't that a little too much?" You ask, looking up at your attractive boyfriend.
You were still unable to process the fact that Jimin was now your boyfriend. Nothing feels different compared to when you two were playing the game together. The only difference is the labels.
In past relationships, going from friends to partners always felt odd to you. You always noticed how the transition was so fast paced. Yes, there was flirting before the transition, but it still didn't feel natural. It always felt forced, but it doesn't feel this way with Jimin.
Having Jimin as a friend with benefits was the same thing as having a boyfriend. You get in each other's pants and can hang out like normal. The only difference is the way you introduce each other, and that was something you'll eventually be able to do without a second thought.
"I know," Jimin says, interjecting your thoughts. "It is a little much, but around 80% of the time, you could decline if you like. The company doesn't usually have to force anyone to say yes to a job because of how good our commission is whenever we sell a home. Candace would've let me say no, but before you and I started getting close, I didn't really have a reason to say no to work." He says with a shrug.
"Why not?"
"Because my friends are easy to schedule hangouts with. Most of them have pretty flexible work schedules. Taehyung works at a smoothie place, Hoseok is a part-time worker and he chooses when he does his street shows, Jin works at a restaurant, and Yoongi writes songs."
"Yoongi writes songs? Like Namjoon?" You question. Jimin looks over at you before a lightbulb goes off in his head.
"I've been completely neglecting Namjoon. Him and Jennie have been so busy trying to have a baby, it feels like I haven't seen them even leave the house," he says with a laugh before nodding his head. "But yes, like Namjoon. I've been meaning to hang out with Namjoon, speaking of him. Now that you and I are together, we can go on a double date with him and Jennie." He says with a smile.
"I'd love that. Jennie and I already get along pretty well. They've been updating me on their attempts of having a baby." You say. Jimin looks over at you, smiling.
"I'm glad that they update you with those things. He mentioned they were trying but have been too busy with work to catch up with them myself," he drifts off before scratching the back of his neck. "Namjoon and I have a special friendship. He's like... like a mentor. He always helps me out with things. He even recommends me to anyone that happens to be looking for a new home because he knows I make commission off of it." You smile softly.
Yep, sounds like Namjoon.
"I could ask Namjoon or Jennie if they're free sometime soon and we can schedule a lunch or something with them." You offer. This causes Jimin to twist his head in your direction, a wide smile on his face and eagerness in his eyes. "I'll text them tomorrow and ask." You say. This causes Jimin to lean down, pressing his lips against your cheek. You close your eyes, a heat forming on your face. He then pulls away from your cheek, moving his face near your ear. You can feel the smile on his face.
"Thank you, baby. I'd really love that." He says.
"Aw, honey," a voice interrupts your conversation. You both look up, greeted by an older couple standing at the front of the home. "They remind me of us when we were younger." The woman says. Jimin smiles softly before stepping towards the couple. He extends his hand out to the two.
"Hello, you must be Mr. and Mrs. Bakuan," Jimin says with a wide smile. "I'm Park Jimin, your realtor." He shakes both of their hands politely before bowing to the two. You smile as you see how polite he is to the older couple.
"Yes, we are," the man says with a smile on his face. "Nice to meet you, Jimin. Who's this lovely lady with you?" Jimin looks back at you, a wide smile on his face.
"This is my girlfriend, Y/N." he simply states, his eyes crinkling as he smiles back at you. This causes you to smile widely.
"How cute, I'm assuming she's helping with the tour?" Mrs. Bakuan asks. As you open your mouth to deny the statement, Jimin nods his head softly. This causes you to close your mouth.
"Yes, she is," he says before leading the couple up to the front door, allowing them to enter first as you stare at Jimin in shock. He winks at you before leaning down. "Don't worry, baby. I'll do most of the talking. If you see anything that intrigues you or that you want to point out, you can let Mr. and Mrs. Bakuan know." He says before taking your hand in his as he walks with you. You nod your head and follow along.
Upon entering the home, you see Mr. and Mrs. Bakuan staring at the paint job and flooring of the home in awe. You and Jimin glance at one another for a moment before Jimin winks, walking towards the couple.
"Ah, I see you've taken a liking to the flooring. This is a real marble flooring that was put in about a month ago. It's pretty new." Jimin states before standing with the couple, watching as the two's eyes wander among the room. Mr. Bakuan gets down, examining the flooring closely before looking up at Jimin.
"I see... does it break easily?" he asks. Jimin quickly shakes his head before walking towards his briefcase. He starts to open his briefcase and takes out a sample tile of the flooring.
"No, sir. Here's the sample of the tiling," he states as he hands the man the tile. You watch as the picky man begins to tap on the tile sample, putting as much pressure on the tile as he can. He furrows his eyebrows as he tries to feel how sturdy the tile is. "You can take that home after the tour, as well, if you would like to." Jimin states with a wide smile.
You glance over at the woman who's still admiring the scenery among her. Her eyes drift towards the silver and black detailing. You watch as her face contorts a little. You widen your eyes, beginning to grow worried that the couple isn't satisfied with the home.
"Y/N, sweetheart," the woman asks, calling you towards her. You nod your head before stepping towards her as you gulp, growing nervous. You watch as the woman walks towards the kitchen. You follow behind her as she points at the pantry door. "Do you think the silver and black make this home look too... boring?" she asks, looking back at you.
You take this moment to examine the woman, realizing just how old she was. You could tell she was a young soul by the way her eyes lit up when her and her husband walked into the home. She seemed to be in her 60's or 70's. Old enough to be a grandma, but not too old to where a home would be too much to manage for her and her husband.
You smiled softly before shaking your head as you speak.
"No, I think the black, white and silver look makes the home look classy," you start before walking around the kitchen. "Besides, I think it'll look a lot less bland once you put your own furniture in the home. Houses always look boring when they're empty because they don't have your personal touch." You say with a soft grin. You feel someone staring at you as you talk and turn your head to see Jimin smiling over at you. You glance down, feeling embarrassed for a moment before you turn to Mrs. Bakuan once more. She's nodding her head, processing your words before she smiles eagerly.
"I guess you're right!" she says before she walks over to her husband, eagerly placing her hand on his arm. He looks up from the tile, staring up at her. His stern face slowly turns into a smile as he looks up at her. "I think our couch would look nice right here." She says, eagerly pointing at a blank spot in the living room. He nods his head, not bothering to look at where she's gesturing to before he turns to Jimin.
"Jimin," he says, gesturing for your boyfriend to go to him. Jimin obliges as he walks towards the couple. He patiently waits for Mr. Bakuan to begin speaking again. "Can you show us the upstairs rooms?" Just as Jimin was about to open his mouth, Candace interjects.
"Actually, Mr. Bakuan, I'm in charge of that portion of the home. I'll escort you two upstairs." She says, gesturing for the couple to follow her upstairs. The couple follows, exploring the upstairs bedrooms before Candace turns to you and Jimin, pausing. "Jimin, I'll show them the upstairs rooms. Can you please check on the backyard and make sure the treats and everything are set up for them?" Jimin nods his head before taking your hand in his. He starts leading the way to the backyard, opening the patio doors for you. He lets you exit the home first before he walks around the backyard, inspecting the grass, pool area, and the stone hedges outside of the home. He furrows his eyebrows before grabbing a duster. He starts sweeping the hedge stones, making sure they're entirely clean before he nods his head to himself.
You stare around in amazement as you press your lips together for a moment. Jimin walks past you as he starts setting up snacks.
"Baby, are you tired?" Jimin asks, looking over at you with a concerned look on his face. You look over at him and shake your head for a moment. Jimin arches an eyebrow and eyes you closely. You slowly start to yawn, and he lets out a soft laugh. He steps over to you, pressing his lips onto your forehead for a moment. "I just have to discuss whether or not they like the home and then my boss will start the paperwork. Candace just needs to disclose the conditions of the home, the mortgage, and the main points of the contract. Once she does that, we can head home." He states for a moment. You nod your head softly, causing Jimin to let out a soft laugh. Your head lolls to the side, causing Jimin to move, allowing you to rest your head on his shoulder as he sits down at the patio table with you.
"Aw, how sweet." Mrs. Bakuan says, clapping her hands together. The noise makes you lift your head for a moment, giving her a soft smile. "They remind me of us when we were younger, Bong." She says to Mr. Bakuan. He smiles softly, nodding his head for a moment. Your eyes drift to Candace who's giving you a stern look. You sit up, causing Jimin to place his hand on the side of your face, making you rest your head once more.
Why is she looking at me like that?
Her eyes narrow in your direction for a moment as they flicker to Jimin. She then puts on a fake smile, starting to explain the paperwork to the couple and Jimin. The couple and Jimin begin negotiating with you resting your head on his shoulder.
The boring conversation causes you to feel your eyes growing heavy. Your eyelids begin to shut on their own, a soft smile on your face as you inhale the scent of Jimin's cologne. Jimin gently strokes your hair with one hand while he signs the paperwork with his other. You begin taking deep breaths as the sound of Candace's voice leaves your attention. Your attention begins to focus on the sound of Jimin's breathing and the scent of his cologne as you fall into a soft sleep.
