You pause, sitting entirely still. You're afraid to even breathe, terrified that Jimin will walk out of your room. You cautiously turn your head to look at Jimin. He stares over at you, not touching you, a serious expression in his face. His eyes contain an emotion you'd only seen once before, in his car.
"W-what?" you whisper, pain evident in your voice. Jimin gulps, pressing his lips together before slowly nodding. "Why?"
"Baby." he starts. You furrow your eyebrows, now growing confused by what was going through Jimin's head.
You fuck me then tell me you don't want to play this game anymore? Was this game just for you to get in my pants?
Jimin senses your sadness shifting to anger and immediately opens his mouth once more.
"Baby, I just don't think this game is healthy for your mental health." He says quietly. "I want you to be confident in yourself, and by watching me fucking other girls... I don't think that's helping with that." You stare up at Jimin.
"B-but that turns me on..." you say. Jimin lets out a soft sigh before he reaches over, taking your hands in his.
"Y/N, I know it does, but I'd much rather fuck you only and not let you feel like you can't touch me. I'm not an unattainable person for you." He coos into your ear. "I'm very attainable to you. You could tell me to get on my knees right now to eat you out, and I'd do it. By watching me fuck other girls, I think that'll lower your confidence and you'll start to fall back into that place." He caringly says.
You remain quiet, understanding him, but refusing to believe the truth.
He's right.
"You don't think I noticed, but I saw a ping of jealousy in your eyes when you watched me with Hwasa." He says quietly. Your eyes slightly widen as he says this, remembering the one second you felt jealous during that day. "Baby, I've memorized your favorite chips, I've remembered little things you tell me, I've taken it upon myself to learn about you because I like you. I notice even the things you don't think I do."
"Why are you this sweet?" you ask, not really expecting an answer from him. You shake your head to yourself. "That happened only one time, Jimin, and it was for less than a second. I'm okay." He shakes his head slowly.
"I know it was less than a second, but that one millisecond was enough to have me worrying during the rest of it. There was a reason I didn't put my dick in her." He states quietly, his eyes looking away from you as he stares down at the bedsheets, scratching the back of his neck.
You bite onto your lower lip before you shake your head softly.
"B-but what does that mean then?" Jimin raises his head to look at you, a soft smile on his lips.
"It means I want to actually date you... if you'd want that, I mean." He says, rubbing the back of his neck once more, biting onto his lower lip. "If you don't then... I guess we're still fuck buddies?" his tone comes out as a question, showing that he genuinely did want to date you.
"I-I'm not... good... at relationships." Your voice dies down towards the end as you look down, beginning to nervously fiddle with your fingers. You press your lips together and stay silent as Jimin doesn't know how to respond to that.
You and Jimin both sit on your bed, refusing to look at each other, yet not wanting the other to leave. The room stays silent for a bit as you feel your stomach dropping at the thought of not having Jimin flirting with you. The thought of Jimin becoming just another neighbor you just so happened to have memories with makes your heart sink into the pit of your stomach.
Apparently that thought makes Jimin upset too, causing him to speak again after the long five minutes of silence.
"What do you mean you're not good at relationships?" his quiet voice causes your ears to perk up as you finally look over at the man. He's already looking back at you, his eyes filled with confusion and curiosity. You shrug, letting your lips part as you attempt to put your thoughts into words.
"Um..." you start before pausing again, looking away from Jimin once more. A determined look forms on your face as you take a deep breath, unsure of how to even word what's happening in your mind. That doesn't matter to Jimin, as he's silently sitting still, waiting for your mouth to somehow explain your thoughts. "H-have you ever seen any movies or read any books where the main character or the main character's partner is constantly... jealous?"
"You mean every romance novel? Yeah, I have." He responds. You nod your head and then take a deep breath once more.
"H-how about any romance movies or novels that involve the girl involved in the love story being insecure?" you start. "Like, in the plot the girl feels so... bad... about herself that she ends up ruining the relationship by constantly thinking she isn't pretty enough for their partner?" You turn your head to face Jimin, who merely stares at you, slowly blinking. You let out a soft scoff before shaking your head. Your hand covers your face as you shake your head. "That's right... there's no such thing as a movie or book that-"
"I've read a psychology book like that in college." He simply states, nodding his head slowly. "I know that isn't a fiction or romance novel you were hoping would match that description... but it mentions that idea." You look over at Jimin. He's already shuffling on the bed, crawling closer to you as he then plops himself down next to you. The bed slightly shifts as his weight is now being placed next to you.
"There's actually... books written on that?" Jimin nods his head. "I've never seen any psychology books on your bookshelf."
"I didn't keep the book," he says before licking his lips. "I just needed the book for a college course. Psychology counted as a science credit for my degree. I do remember reading it, though."
"Well, that's how I'm bad at relationships." You shake your head as you sense Jimin's hand ghosting over yours. He hesitates before placing his hand onto yours.
"Well, since I've read a book about it, I could help you overcome it... you'd just have to trust me and let me take you on a date." He says before softly smiling at you, giving you hopeful eyes. You blink, unsure of how to respond to him. "I won't ghost you, Y/N. I promise that. I've never done it to anyone in my entire life. All of my breakups have been through adult conversations. I've never once broken up with a girl by not talking to her." You softly laugh before shaking your head.
"See, this is why I'm having a hard time staying away from you," you start before smiling over at him. "How are you so... so..."
"Sexy? Handsome? Cute? I can keep making guesses all night." He says, winking over at you. This causes you to laugh as you shake your head, gently placing your arm on his shoulder as you softly push him. This causes him to laugh as well, his eyes crinkling as he does so.
"No," you say as you shake your head. "How are you so... different?" Jimin's head tilts to the side as he ponders what you mean. He glances up at the ceiling as he does so before leaning in, showing that you've gained his attention even further.
"Different in a good way?" You nod your head.
"Every guy I've met, no matter how shy or funny or nice they seem... I always have a feeling that they've hurt a girl." You softly say before looking up at Jimin, eyeing him up and down. "But not you. After everything you've just said, I would've thought that was bullshit coming from someone else's mouth. I don't get that feeling from you... why don't I get that feeling from you?" Jimin softly smiles.
"That's an easy question," he runs his fingers through his hair. "That's because I'm the one who's been hurt, and you know that after talking with me in my car. I could take the revenge route and hurt another girl the same way I was hurt, but I just... I don't have the heart to do that to someone. I can be petty sometimes, but I grew up being taught to treat others how I'd want to be treated."
You could tell. From what you've witnessed of Jimin, he's always putting others before himself. He's always putting other people as a priority because he wants someone to put him as a priority.
"Have I ever told you about the time Yoongi-hyung, Jin-hyung, and Hoseok-hyung and I went fishing?" he asks. You furrow your eyebrows, confused to where he was going with this. You slowly shake your head as his eyes light up. He immediately sits in crisscross applesauce position, sitting up straight. His posture alone told you this was going to be a funny story. "Well, we went recently, I want to say about two weeks ago?... yeah... two weeks ago. Yoongi and Jin were sitting at the edge of the dock, holding their fishing poles and waiting for a fish to bite. Hoseok and I were messing around on the side of the dock that's closer to the shore and he was teaching me some new dance moves. Jin-hyung started wobbling in his chair when he felt a fish biting onto his rod. Yoongi-hyung stayed in his seat, because he's pretty quiet while the rest of us are being goofy, and Jin-hyung ended up falling backwards from his chair." He says, a smile plastered on his face.
"Hoseok-hyung and I turned around and saw Jin-hyung right when he fell on the dock. He was holding onto his knee and waving his fist in the air while he cussed out the fish." You nodded your head along, finding yourself smiling as you listened to Jimin's enthusiastic voice. "What he didn't realize was that he had pulled the rod and the fish he was cussing out was right next to him. Yoongi-hyung got up and picked up his rod, waving the fish in front of Jin-hyung and it was a tiny little fish about an inch long. Yoongi-hyung started to tease Jin-hyung and Hoseok-hyung joined in by waving the fish in front of him. Jin-hyung got so mad, he started yelling 'YAH' at them."
"What did you do?" you ask, causing Jimin's smile to widen.
"I walked over to them, helped Jin-hyung get up and defended him. I told him that none of us had caught a fish and he was the only one who did. I told him that I was proud he caught one." He said with a proud smile on his face.
Ah, there's the point to the story.
You couldn't help but admire how adorable he could be when he wanted to. Yes, he was a sexy man. However, there were moments that made you think about how cute he is.
"Jimin, that was really nice of you to do," you start before grinning up at him. "What did Jin do?"
"He put his arm around me and started bragging to the others saying 'See? Jiminie's proud of me! At least I caught something, you buffoons.'" He says with a wide smile, causing his eyes to crinkle. "I forgot to ask you something. You've met Taehyung. Have you met Hoseok?" You furrow your eyebrows, trying to match a face to the name. Slowly, you shake your head before looking back at Jimin. He lifts his eyebrows.
"Nope, I don't think I have." You say.
"Really? Your boss is Mr. Jung, right?" you furrow your eyebrows.
"Isn't Mr. Jung a little old to be hanging out with you, Yoongi, Taehyung, and Jin?" Jimin tilts his head back as he starts laughing, nearly losing his balance on the bed as he laughs loudly.
"N-No, that's n-not what I was g-getting at!" he says while laughing. His laughter slowly dies down before he takes a deep breath, smile still plastered on his face. "Hoseok is Mr. Jung's son!"
"The street dancer?" Jimin nods his head, causing you to mentally facepalm yourself.
Y/N, you idiot. Jung Hoseok. Mr. Jung. Mr. Jung's son is a street dancer. Hoseok is a street dancer. Wow.
"I was asking because Hoseok's audition is coming up. I'm sure Mr. Jung has mentioned how he's taking off to see him, right?" you nod your head. "Well, this upcoming weekend is his practice before he flies out of town to go to the audition. He invited me so he could teach me some dance moves and so I could help him perfect his routine."
"Oh, do you need me to watch your place while you're out or something?" Jimin smiles at your innocence, shaking his head.
"No, baby," he states before pressing his lips together. "I was wondering if you'd want to come with me. I'll introduce you to Hoseok and it could be a day for us to just hang out while you make up your mind about whether or not you want to let me take you on a date. What do you say?" he asks, smiling softly as he lifts his eyebrows eagerly. You bite onto your lower lip, staring up at the man and start thinking with your brain, heart, and gut.
Your brain tells you to say no as it's too afraid to be hurt by another guy and he could be tricking you into a date. Your heart says yes, wanting to see Jimin being sweet to his friend and craving to feel affection again. Your gut doesn't have any bad feelings about the situation and remains platonic.
The different parts of your body argue with one another before a phrase slips out of your mouth.
"Sure, that sounds like fun."

Hi, everyone. As you can see, today isn't an update schedule day. I was supposed to post this next Monday.
However, with the coronavirus causing most of you to be working/attending school at home, I didn't want to make you all wait longer.
Also, I actually wrote more than expected. I only thought I'd make it up to chapter 53. However, I'm starting chapter 56 now. This means I have more than enough chapters for me to post weekly rather than every other week for the rest of the semester. (As you can tell, spring break was the chance for me to get really creative and I wrote A LOT haha)
Since my classes are online, it'll be easier for me to balance writing and schoolwork. Therefore, I've decided to change my upload schedule back to weekly.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy. I purple you. ❤️
- Kim ❤️
