_____________
Heartbreaks is said to be proven to shift the future coordination of your life when it comes to views of love, so much to the point it stitches your heart back up slowly but to only grow to be detested with the idea or need for love again.
A victim of a broke heart falls into these familiar sayings:
"I'm never going to date anyone again."
"Fuck men."
"Women are heartless bitches."
"Single for life."
The sayings goes on.
But realize that not one of those sayings involve, "I'm broken, what can I do about it to make myself feel better instead of complain?"
That's the thing, humans don't have the rationality just yet when they go through that pain caused by another. They think of rage, agony, and desperation.
Target the world.
A general population, whether it's only men or women, or people in general.
Hate them so much.
Anyone but themselves.
Sometimes it takes days to get over it before finally accepting and moving onto how to make life easier without the person there anymore.
And well.... Sometimes it takes years.
Min Yoongi being an example of that.
Here is Jeon Jungkook at the moment staring at his blonde haired friend, a deep frown on his lips because he didn't know how to comfort Yoongi's sobbing and tearful heart against pile of tissues beside him.
It's been two years, and he's still not over it.
The break up.
Having his heart broken by the one and only; Park Jimin. Even though the man - being Jimin - clearly told Yoongi before they dated that they were only going to be together for a semester.
Guess Yoongi had hope that their connection was strong enough to last long, or he didn't get the memo.
Whatever it was hasn't let him move on from Jimin, and even though he has had relationships after the man - that didn't work out - he would end up like this, crying, because of how the infamous Park Jimin ruined his heart.
Even if Jungkook wanted to be, he can't be too angry at Jimin for hurting his best friend. It's been years of Jungkook being around the same setting as Park Jimin, especially since they've been in the same schools together since high school but not necessarily spoken to one another. Jimin has had this rule forever - dating for a semester, break up, then date someone else for the other semester and so it continues on in this pattern.
Yoongi was dumb for letting himself fall for the temptation in asking him out, falling for him while knowing the risks, and letting this be his first relationship he has ever been in too - and trusting it to Jimin.
But then again, Jungkook doesn't put the blame all on him. Feelings happen and perhaps Yoongi was too blinded and believed this was something that could've lasted longer.
That he could've changed him.
But that wasn't the case.
Yoongi highly believes Jimin is his first love, Jungkook believes Yoongi just hasn't experienced love well enough to know.
But when he does, he will see the difference for sure.
"I-I think I should text him-"
"No."
"Oh come on! The semester is starting soon, which means it'll be his time where he'll be dating someone."
"He doesn't do dating exes. You told me so yourself."
"Have faith in me Jungkook!"
The ravenette scoffs and puts his phone down, displaying all his attention to his friend, "Not to be rude but if I were him, I would absolutely hate it if someone was constantly all up my ass the whole time even after I rejected them. Especially if it's an ex. Keep your dignity Yoongi!"
The blonde male whines, face scrunching up stubbornly, "B-But I just feel like maybe if I try a little more, he would see I'm worth the fight because I never gave up on him-"
"Yoongi! Listen to yourself!" Jungkook is annoyed now, sitting up, "Jimin doesn't give a shit about you or the effort you put! He never does! That's just the way he is and you know this!"
"I know okay!" Yoongi whines louder, slamming his face against the pillow, "I'm just so annoyed that he is like this! I was heartbroken for a while - still am!"
Jungkook stares at his friend from the other end of the couch, unable to stop himself from feeling some twinkle of empathy to his pitiful whines. This whole talk about Jimin has been a broken record around Jungkook's literal entire life; from Yoongi, his ex Taehyung, his teammates in his sport teams, during class- It's everywhere.
Heartbroken people just complaining about not swooning the guy over.
And it's frustrating that they're thinking that they probably should've tried harder rather than point the finger to how this is Jimin's issue.
He's the one toying with these hearts and breaking them, even though the others are stupid because he does say it from the get go that they aren't having things for the long run and sets the boundary.
But for how long does Jungkook have to last hearing this shit?
It's senior year of college, and the last thing he needs to deal with is hearing complaints in class to how Jimin has another eye candy and heartbroken fuckers trying to win the man back.
Not only that but this means another whole semester of Yoongi crying to how Jimin destroyed his heart and angry to the type of person he is while he sees him with another man.
Jungkook can be many things - Team Captain, delinquent, star mysterious athlete of the school just because of his appearance or whatever - but standing around while his best friend is upset by another person who thinks they're the shit just doesn't sit right with him.
He always wanted to confront Jimin about this, even defend Yoongi in his case, but he wanted to be a good support for Yoongi in that time, so for him having to hear that his best friend got into a fist fight with his 'first love' won't do shit.
But it seems like Yoongi had other ideas through his mental break down, one that forced his eyes to shoot open in this epiphany sparkle, now slowly looking at Jungkook with a stare that made him feel anything but comfortable.
What is he thinking now-
"Do you think you can do it?"
Jungkook blinks. It took a moment or two for him to react but then he just perks a slow eyebrow, "Do what?"
"Be Jimin's boyfriend for the semester?"
He's so dumb....
He really is.
"Why would I do that? I don't find him really charming after your complaining fits."
"No no," Yoongi immediately hushes, facing him now on the couch, "If you're his boyfriend, you're the closest to him. Maybe you can ask him how he feels for me or be my wing man! Something! Anything!"
A disgusted frown twitches Jungkook's lips, face falling in a monotone expression, "Are you listening to yourself right now? Do you realize how desperate you sound?"
"I am! Look Kook I really like this guy," Yoongi pleads, this sincere stare in his eyes, "I know there's hope for him and a semester wasn't enough time for me to dig in. All I ask is for him to give me another semester, that's it."
"Yoongi.... Shit," Jungkook curses, running a hand through his long raven hair, "Do you realize what you're asking me to do? If you haven't noticed, I'm still not over Taehyung-"
"But you guys are just best friends and said you two aren't getting back together," Yoongi scoffs, his eyes still pleading, "Besides you don't have to like Jimin! All you have to do is be my wing man since you'll be the closest to him and maybe Taehyung would even regret what he lost and you can get him back! It's a win/win for both of us."
Jungkook digs into the depths of his dark heart to recalling his marvelous experience with relationships, nibbling on the ring of his lip piercing, "Yoongi you know how I am with relationships, asides the one from Taehyung. If Jimin catches feelings, I won't hold back in breaking his heart. I don't like that catching feelings so easily from people I barely know, especially since I still have feelings for Taehyung. And if I break his heart, guess what? He won't notice you."
"Then set that as a rule!" Yoongi snaps his fingers in awe, as though he just came up with the answers to the world, "Jimin usually asks the partner he's going to be with to state their rules on what they would want from the relationship. I obviously didn't say shit but I heard this girl told him once that she didn't want to have sex, and they didn't! So that can be a rule, to not catch feelings!"
For a good second Jungkook wanted to laugh.
Not catch feelings, right, as if it was that easy.
And they're supposed to be dating?
Being around someone 24/7, getting to know them for a whole semester, doing romantic shit and all; resisting a small glimmer of feelings is almost impossible. But then again, Jimin has been doing this for years, so he must know how to resist feelings if he keeps moving on quickly and never settle down.
As for Jungkook, as said before, he's still not over his best friend/ex Taehyung. They've been together for three years and recently broke up half a year ago. They're still best friends, hang out and sleepover at each other's houses from time to time. Maybe they can't detach themselves from each other, or perhaps there's lingering feelings, but they can't go back to being in a relationship again.
They just can't.
Let's say if Jungkook pulls through with this ridiculous idea. If this runs smoothly, Jungkook does it in being Yoongi's wing man, succeeds in having Jimin reconsider in dating Yoongi for another semester, and Taehyung will realize he misses Jungkook and the two can get back together again.
Everyone's happy.
That's the utopian idea.
Then there's also the possibility that either Jimin or Jungkook may catch feelings, Jimin doesn't consider in taking Yoongi as a boyfriend again and Jungkook never will win over Taehyung again and he'll move on even more.
It's a shit ton of things to consider if he does this stupid idea.
But then again, there's this dark side of Jungkook's mind that's always been wanting to have this opportunity with Jimin. No, not because he's interested, but to break his heart for breaking Yoongi's heart.
For pay back.
For hurting his best friend.
Jungkook can be a real bitch sometimes when it comes to the people closest to him, and he's still not over his petty anger about Jimin hurting his best friend - especially while knowing how crazy Yoongi got for him.
He could've let him down easier, but he didn't.
He wants to put Jimin in his place, and the best way to do that is by speaking his language.
The stupid dating game shit he's pulling.
And Jungkook really wants to pull through with it, from a devious side of his mind.
Yoongi just introduce a dangerous idea to his grudge holding bestie.
"Kookie, please!" Yoongi snaps Jungkook from his daze of thoughts, "Trust in me. I just need one semester and you know how to convince people of these things! And then you won't have to hear from me again-"
"I'll do it."
"And I know you're going to complain and say no - Wait.... You said you'd do it?"
Guess that's the case huh?
Jungkooks briefly nods, glaring at the wall, "Yeah."
"Really!?" Yoongi squeals, eyes glittering in excitement, "Oh God! I'm going to get my chance and then we are going to get married-"
"Wait back up," Jungkook cuts, eyes now focusing back on Yoongi, "Look, I'll do it. I'll pretend to be his little boyfriend, try my best to get him to date you again and hopefully have Taehyung back, but I'm letting you know now that I won't be nice. I'm pissed off at him for hurting you, so I will personally destroy this little game he has to make sure he won't hurt you again."
Yoongi smile slowly drops, eyebrows furrowing in confusion, "And how are you going to do that? He's always had this game for a while."
Jungkook twitches a grin, hands balling into a fist, "By breaking his heart.... From the inside. So bad to the point he's not going to want to do this anymore, and perhaps settle down officially. That'll be my pay back."
The small man blinks, tilting his head to the side, "So.... You're basically playing the game master?"
"Exactly," Jungkook grin twitches wider, "He broke many hearts, what's so bad about breaking his?"
