7 - Pidge X Reader - Find Them Together

There was shouting and struggling.

"-and make sure every guard knows she's never allowed on garrison property ever again!"
The gruff and stern voice of a male filled the hallways.

'Iverson?' You thought as you poked your head around the corner to see what all the noise was.
You worked in the garrison as a technician- nothing major or important, only fixing small things. You really wanted to be a pilot, but never had the attention span to study hard enough.

Anyways, you looked round the corner and saw a girl being restrained against her will, while being yelled at by Commander Iverson.

"You..YOU CAN'T KEEP ME OUT!" She shouted.
"I'LL FIND THE TRUTH, I'LL NEVER STOP."

Her yells continued, swears and insults being thrown left and right as she was being taken away down the hall - most likely off the premises.

You turned around to walk away, when one of her angered rows caught your attention.

"I'LL GET THEM BACK. DON'T YOU WORRY IVERSON. MATT AND, AND ALL OF THEM. I'LL FLY TO FUCKING KERBEROS MYSELF IF I HAVE TO-"

And then the sound of doors being slammed as her sentence was cut short. But aside from that.

Kerberos...the mission...

You hadn't had time to check the news this morning- so if anything had happened, then you would be completely oblivious to it.

You rushed after where the girl had been thrown out. You felt like you were in a really dramatic hospital scene from a movie as you ran down the hallways, slamming doors open.

"The Kerberos mission, what happened?!!" You half shouted, flushed from running.

Sitting on the ground outside the garrisons entrance was the girl from earlier. She sat up against one of the walls, her knees to her chest. Her light brown eyes were glossy from her previous state of rage.

There was nothing from the girl as she continued to stare at the dirt ground.

You took a gulp and looked around you.
"Matt...he was a great friend to me. Listen, if anything happened to him- I need to know."

The girl must have noted the sincerity and desperation in your hushed voice.

She seemed to think for a moment before hesitantly speaking.
"The garrisons covering up what really happened to him- he and everyone else on that mission didn't just die." She rubbed her eyes then looked up at you. "Why do you- were you and him close? To Matt?"

You nodded.
"I'm...willing to help you."

The girls eyes widened, unsure as to why you would agree to help her so easily.

"Y/N L/N." You stuck your hand out to her, which she shook.

"Katie Holt."

Oh no.

"Then-"

"Yes. My brother and father."

How could you even respond to that? Matt did mention he had siblings- but...now that you thought about it- the resemblance was almost scary.

"I'll get in...I'll do it. I mean it Y/N.."
Her teeth and fists were clenched tightly. All this was making her frustrated. You knew that, yet, you still couldn't help but point out the obvious.

"Katie."

Her head turned to you sharply. You could see the strands of hair which were stuck to her face from her tears, once again falling.

"The garrison. They know who you are. They won't let you back in, you know that. I saw them just kick you out!"
You waved your hands at the building behind you.
"How do you plan to get in?"

There was a silence in which Katie rummaged through her pockets and pulled out a pair of round glasses.

Instantly you recognised them.

"With these." Her voiced laced in sinister and sheer determination, she stood.
