3 - Lance X Reader - Singing In The Rain.

Oneshot based of a post with a character + emoji prompt I found on tumblr and thought was really cute ♡

It was raining- then again, when wasn't the stuff pouring from the atmosphere. Your home planet was famous for its large masses of rain and giant lakes surrounded in dense jungle.

You sat perched on a branch of one of the trees native to your planet. Reaching almost 50 feet, the trees were great places to hide- the large leaves acting as canopies shielding you from the rain.

You watched the rain droplets fall down past you until they formed a small puddle on the dirt ground, creating pitter-patter sounds as they landed.

Drip- "Hey Keith!"

The sudden disturbance in the dripping of water started you slightly. People never came to this planet? But more importantly-

'Keith? Who's Keith?'
You thought as you jumped down from your spot in the tree and landed softly. Closing your eyes, you could now clearly hear rustling in the leaves as people walked past.

"Lance, I swear if your start- oh my god." An annoyed voice sighed as their footsteps seemed to get quieter.

You parted the leaves and spotted two guys. One in red and one in blue. The black haired one in red was face palming as he walked away from the slightly taller brunette in blue.
You watched the one in blue curiously as he smirked, jumped up then started to sing.

"I'm siiiiinging in the rain~"

He laugh-sang as he ran after his friend.
Curiosity took over you, so you followed them.

As they walked along the jungle, the 'Keith' would repeatedly sigh telling his friend to shut up as he sang.

"Just siiiining in the rain." He span around on his toes, looking up to the grey sky.

"What a glorious feeeelin' I'm happy again."

You felt a smile rise to your cheeks as you watched him as he danced around Keith.

"I'm laaaaughing at clouds, so daaark above the sky."

You took a brave step forward out the trees towards the pair- wanting to hear them better.

"The suns in my heart!!" Lance made a heart with his hands and looked upwards as he span some more. You quietly laughed again as you got closer.

"And I'm ready for looooooovvveeee!!" Your face softened as Lance did his finale. With outstretched arms and a huge smile on his face he spun one last time.

*clap clap clap clap*

The two suddenly spun around to face you, their hands going straight to their weapons.

"Oh. Sorry I scared you! I won't hurt you." You quickly said putting your hands up defensively.
"I'm one of the natives to this planet and I just heard your song while in the trees. It was beautiful."

Keith and Lance instantly relaxed, bringing their hands away from their bayards.
"My song?" Lance asked, a smirk on his face.
"Well I've got aaaaalll night. Request away~"

"Err hello? No you don't. Come on, we need to get back to our lions. Allura's waiting." Keith tried to drag Lance away, but the brunette swatted his hand away.

"No no. Go on ahead I'll catch up." He shooed with his hands.

"Uhh fine. I didn't want to hear your pointless flirting anyways." Keith huffed out as he walked away.

"You're really good at singing you know. I didn't know someone could make up a song about something so bland like rain. How did you come up with it?"
You asked with a tilt of your head.

You saw him smile with a sparkle in his teeth as he pointed at himself with his thumb.
"Well beautiful..." His voice suddenly got much lower.
"I just though of some words then- you know. Boooom. Amazing song created. I'm a very talented song writer."

"Wow...." You breathed out as you felt your cheeks get redder.

"I know right. You know, if you want to hear some more just-"

His sentence got interrupted as the trees above you parted and a massive red lion landed. Instantly you recognised it as one of the lions of the renowned Voltron.

'A paladin of Voltron?' You thought as you watched Keith hop out red.

"Lance, we need to go! Come on. Coran and Allura are waiting!"

Lance poured and turned to you.
"I gotta go. I'll be back someday~ and maybe we could sing in the rain together?"

You smiled and nodded as Lance ran to Keith's lion. As you watched the door on the lion close, Lance quickly blew you a kiss making your cheeks flush even more.

The lion was now a small dot in the sky, almost like the rain. After staring up at the sky for a while, you shook your head and skipped off, singing a now familiar tune.

"I'm siiining in the rain, just siiiinging in the rain..."
