"Tell me again?" Shiro asked. Keith wanted to wipe away his boyfriend's tears, but Shiro needed to know it was okay to get them out, and he just needed to be held.

"I love you," Keith replied, reassuring him. He knew Shiro knew that it was true, but Shiro just needed to hear it. He could say a million things after to make him feel better, but it wasn't necessary.

I love you. That's all there was to it.

Shiro closed his eyes, eventually falling asleep. Keith watched him, and even though Shiro couldn't hear, he rested his head against Shiro's and whispered again, "I love you."
