One day, when you had work, Ota was strolling down the streets, his eyes flickering to every store window. He was trying to find a gift for you since your anniversary was in three days.

But so far, nothing caught his eye.

"Arf!"

He came to a halt when he heard a bark out of nowhere. He followed the source of that bark and in an alley, found a grey Husky puppy in a cardboard box. It was surprisingly clean if it were a stray dog.

Must've been abandoned by its owner. He thought as he took the puppy up. He smiled: "Koro would love a play mate!"

After your work, you immediately went to a doctor's. You were feeling unwell all day but managed to hide it from everyone else.

"Congratulations, Ms. [last name]! You are with child for two months already!" the doctor announced.

1...

It was a minute after you left the clinic that the information fully soaked in. Oh my god....

"Koro?" Ota got back to his suite, but you were nowhere in sight. He sighed. I told her to come straight up after her work. He had left the puppy at the vet's temporarily for some treatment and clean-ups. Three days will be just enough.

"S-Sorry I'm late." You stumbled as you came in with your head down.

"You bet you are."

Silence engulfed you after that. You weren't being the apologetic girl you usually were and he wasn't being his usual pushy self either.

"A-and, yeah. Today was a pretty tiring day, so...can I head back to the dorms?" you asked. You didn't expect him to agree at all...

"Do what you want." He said. Your head shot up only to be met with his retreating figure to the bedroom. You actually hoped that this time he would make you stay like he always did. Without any other options, you turned the opposite way.

"What should I get him...?" in your dorm, you lay upside down on your bed while holding up your phone after searching 'good anniversary gifts'.

"None of these will work...he already has everything...." You sighed. Until something randomly flashed through your mind. You grinned, something simple might as well work.

You ignored the awkwardness between you two building up to this moment.

He had asked you out to dinner. By the look on his face you knew he was preparing some kind of surprise.

After dinner, the two of you stood together peacefully at the border, gazing out at the sea.

You decided to break the comfortable silence first, gently, you took out something from your purse. His face showed confusion at the plastic rose in your hand.

"Why plastic? Is your love for me fake?" he asked with a stern tone, but sadness in his eyes.

"Of course not. My love for you is like this rose, it'll never wither away." You said, clipping the rose onto his chest pocket.

He looked away with a cute pout, even under the lights you could see the tint on his face. "You've still got a pretty smart mouth for a pet."

"Happy anniversary." You said with a gentle smile.

"Hmm...I've got something for you too." He mumbled before snapping his fingers.

"Arf!" your eyes widened when you saw the adorable husky run towards you excitedly.

"Good thing the vets trained him to come whenever I snap." Ota says before picking the puppy up. His adorable expression was priceless as he averted his gaze and said to you: "H-Happy anniversary, [first name]."

"Oh my god!" you yelled as you flung your arms around both adorable guys. You buried your face in Ota's chest when you felt the puppy wiggled out of your grasp and onto the ground. It ran around the two of you, as if congratulating you as well.

"I love you, Ota." You say as you lift your head up to the blushing male.

He just hummed, without saying it back. You knew he was rarely honest with his feelings but it still kind of hurt you.

"Oh right...." You murmur as you step back, "I need to tell you something...."

He gave you his undivided attention as the puppy leaned against your leg from the side.

"I...uh...I'm...pregnant." You say as you fidgeted with your fingers.

"...What..." was his first reaction.

"For about two months now." you added, your gaze still fixed on the puppy which was by your feet.

Suddenly, you don't feel anything below your feet. Ota swept you up bridal style.

"So...I'm the father right?" he asked with his forehead against yours.

"Of course." You say and couldn't help but smile.

Not a second after, your lips were covered by his. Your lips were slowly moving together, forming a rather gentle kiss compared to the ones he usually gives.

"[First name]?" he said softly in between the butterfly kisses.

"Hm?" you couldn't give any other respond other than a hum for you were so distracted in his sweet pecks. You felt him smile against your lips.

"I love you."
