"Are you doing alright, Sans?" Toriel asked, flames danced through her paws as she turned her attention to the God of Death.

"I'm fine," Death sighed, "The sooner we find a way out the better."

"Alright, I run you through some things." Toriel said

"As you know now chara was able to get ahold of the timeline through dying determination. Determination without a soul is usually taken and kept till its no more, but that is not the case." Toriel said, she turned to death with a serious expression, "our universe isn't compatible with time bending. So at the start all that chara was basically.....was...a demon with determination. We don't have save points, if that's what they're called, so chara was unable to RESET or SAVE."

"They did it through geno's chara, huh?" Death said.

Toriel nodded, "The determination our chara took was enough to damage codes. Enough to make it to another universe. I'll spare the rest of the details for later. Now, I need to do something"

And with that Toriel began to emit fire from her hands. The flames dance around, her eyes not leaving the fire for a second. Till she threw it to the ground in a gentle manner.
The fire grew and grew till a small portal, from what it looks like, similar to a tornado but on the ground, opened up.
The portal seemed to try to swallow them, but it only sucked in air. It was so forceful that brown beads that were around deaths neck got torn off and sucked into the portal.

For what seemed hours nothing happened but the spinning.  Death tried to start a small conversation with Life but stopped because how concentrated she looked.
Finally something was visible through the portal and started getting closer and closer till Life held up her paw and caught a book.
She sighed in disappointment, "no matter how many times I try to warn you, you never seem to open it."
Death made his way towards life and looked at the object. His eye sockets widened In surprise.
It was the book he found in his office,  the one with his scythe and geno's scarf around it.

"What's in there?" Death asked cautiously.

"Warnings I gave to you, but you still end up here every single time." Life said, her voice filled with sadness as she handed the book back to death. Death looked back at her then to the book and opened it.

He came back

Death
He refuses to do it, he doesn't trust me.
and it repeated

"What?" Death looked back at Toriel, "this makes no sense,"

"You're not the only one who's been infected by this, death." Toriel said seriously, "I know where they are right now, chara, gaster, geno."

"Then why didn't-" death said before he was hushed by the goddess.

"Let me say this," Toriel said in a deathly tone, "you will listen to me. You will not interrupt me. And you will not get mad at me."

Death looked at Toriel uncertain but nodded.

The god of life sighed and clenched her paws, she seems like she wishes not to speak of it.

"You're going to have to kill geno," the goddess spat out quickly and looked back at death.
His expression was of shock and betrayal.
"No, not that look again." The goddess whispered,  "sans! Please listen-"

"Why?" Death said, the hurt in his eyes showed clear as day, his voice quivered as he tried to look Toriel in the eye, "you're saying that I have to kill the one person who understood me!? The one person who actual got to know me, and not because of pity!!"

Toriel looked away, she's heard these words countless times. Yet they still felt like knives piercing through her soul.

"After you.......left." Death continued, "I had no one, papyrus was there for me but he didn't understand how I felt. I loved you and you were gone. And a part of me left as well."

Death looked up with a smile, blue tears ran down his face, "then I met geno, that stupid dork was a determined little ball of fire. Sure, when we met it took some time to get used to things. But it felt different, like I was back.
And when me and him shook hands and no dust was left. I was so happy, Someone that I loved didn't actually die from me."

A gloom of darkness started to spread across the white void, seeping through deaths unexpected rage.
"Then they were back! With a whole new set of tricks! They messed everything up!!"

"Death listen," Toriel said with tears streaming down her face, "Listen please, I beg of you"

Death stayed quiet, his lifeless eye sockets stared life down. But he didn't stop her from talking, he actually listened.

"I-if what you said was true, that you truly loved me." Toriel cried quietly,  "then you should know that I love you as well, but I care more about your happiness than mine. I would never lie about such a thing. Do you really think I want you to Kill geno out of my own selfishness?"

Death stayed silence.

Toriel wiped her tears, "you know this was always the end, you can't escape death. Not even a god can, we all have our time."

A single tear ran down her face as she looked at death.
"And geno's time is out,"
