twenty eight
28| that'll be fun
"kook?"
"hmm?"
taehyung smiled by the vibration that 'hmm' caused against his cheek. the couple was laying comfortably on the couch, taehyung on top of jungkook, his head pressed against the younger's chest, while their arms are securely wrapped around each other.
"i should go home soon, i don't like to drive at night."
jungkook pouted. "you can stay if you want."
"i want, but we have an exam tomorrow and even though you don't need to study because your grades are fabulous, this bitch does." taehyung pointed to himself and jungkook chuckled, pecking his lips.
taehyung then got up, jungkook followed. "bun, i'm sorry to leave you alone after-
"hey it's okay, don't worry. we'll see each other again tomorrow." jungkook said, snaking his arms around the male's waist.
"i feel bad though." taehyung pouted and jungkook smiled, kissing the pout away.
"it's okay, go home angel... don't study too long and also sleep. text me when you're home."
"i will, see you tomorrow. i'll be here at 8."
"and i'll be ready to engulf you in my arms." jungkook said, booping their noses and taehyung giggled.
"why you gotta make the author always write so much fluff?"
"she enjoys it."
"goodnight tae."
"goodnight, bun." taehyung said and caught jungkook's lips into a small kiss.
"see you tomorrow." both said in unison, before taehyung left. jungkook smiled to himself, not understanding how he could be this lucky to have kim taehyung in his life. he waited till the older sat inside his car and waved when he drove off.
he then closed the door and went inside.
taehyung turned a little music on, he hates when he's alone and theirs no sound, when it's quiet.
he hummed along with a song, driving in a slow pace. and soon he noticed a car behind him.
he turned left- the black car did too.
he turned right- the black car did too.
taehyung thought it might be a coincidence, but he felt uncomfortable. so he stopped on the street side, pretending to be on his phone, waiting for that car to pass by. but it never did. instead, it stopped to- on the other street side.
taehyung felt his blood run cold and he quickly turned the engine back on and speeded off, panicking once more when the car started driving too.
taehyung drove as fast as possible to his house, grateful that his car was so fast. with shaking hands, he fiddled with his keys, attempting to open the door quickly and disappear behind it.
"who are you?" taehyung stirred and turned around, only to feel more fear creep inside of him. he turned around, recognizing the male as the man that was in front of jungkook's house.
"i don't know why this should concern you, sir." the silver haired said with a tight tone, trying to not let his fear show.
"are you a friend of jungkook?"
taehyung felt anger rise up inside of him. this man there, standing in front of him is the same man that made his boyfriend suffer so much.
"mr jeon, i beg you to leave jungkook alone, he is happy now."
taehyung held his breath when the man looked down. he took his time to look at the man. he had sharp features, a sharp jawline, just like jungkook's. you can easily see they're related to each other. but that's it.
they look alike, but that's it.
"i believe jungkook has told you about everything, am i right?"
taehyung nodded. "now i ask you to leave. leave jungkook alone, let him live his life... don't interfere."
"may i know your name?"
"why would you wanna know my name, sir?" taehyung asked confused.
"i wanna talk to you, shouldn't i know your name since you know mine?" the man said.
taehyung didn't know what to do. "i don't wanna talk to you though, goodnight." he turned around, fiddling with his keys again.
"i-i beg you. i want to apologize for everything i've ever done, i... that wasn't me. i've gone the wrong path, i know i hurt everyone dear to me and i just need someone to talk..."
taehyung scoffed. "listen here big man, if you need someone to talk, search for a psychiatrist." he turned the keys.
"i beg you, you and jungkook must be close, i want to explain things. i know i can't make things undone, but i at least can be kind of a good father for jungkook. pay for his school fees, give him money for food, for a living... follow my duties as his father."
taehyung stopped. "you aren't his father, mr jeon."
"i... know. i have no right to call myself his father."
"why are you telling me all of this?" taehyung asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.
"can we maybe talk inside?"
"no, we'll talk here."
"okay... boy?"
"taehyung."
"okay, taehyung. i regret everything i've done, everything i caused. after jungkook left-
"you sent him away, he didn't leave." taehyung glared at the man, asking himself why he didn't just open the door, go in and slam it into his face.
"yes... after i sent him away, everything broke together. that was when i realized how much he meant to me. how much soyeon meant to me. when jungkook left, it was the worst.
"i felt empty, alone. he wasn't there anymore and despite of me always harassing him, i still loved him. he was still my son, i was still his father.
"jungkook never deserved what happened, it was my fault. we didn't have much money, so i did work behind my wife's back. dirty work. with drugs and so on you know.
"i did it for jungkook and her.
"but when she found out, she was rather mad. she didn't appreciate the fact that i was doing this for our family and we had argued about it.
"and that was when it started. i drank that night. and i loved the way my worries all vanished and how happy i felt when drunk. so i continued, until it was the only thing i did. drinking.
"and it all printed onto my life. i got furious more often, started to beat my wife and son. she then never wanted to be intimate with me and i found replacement. everyday.
"and after some time, i thought jungkook and her were just burdens to me. they were standing in my way, stopping me from doing what i want. but most of all i thought they were just ungrateful for everything i did for them.
i blamed them for everything, but it was all my fault.
"it escalated, my wife k-killed herself and i sent jungkook away.
"and the four years without him were the worst i've ever gone through. i had no motivation to drink, no motivation to go out, no motivation to invite other females over. i felt numb and when i realized what i've done, i took a therapy with the goal to talk things out with jungkook and apologize... for everything."
taehyung's eyes were wide and he felt light pity towards that man. of course, he'll never forget what the man has done to jungkook and his mother, but he seems to really regret it.
"s-so what you say is that you won't hurt jungkook?"
the man shook his head. "i won't ever hurt him again, ever touch him again, all i wanna do is apologize to him."
taehyung nodded. "why are you telling me all of this?"
"i saw you two kiss." taehyung stiffened and the man tried to not puke over the memory. oh you didn't believe him, did you? that man is satan himself, all he was trying to do was to get taehyung's trust and let him talk with jungkook. that man probably doesn't even know what a therapy is.
"don't worry, i have no right to decide over who jungkook loves... but you are his boyfriend then, right?"
"y-yes i am." taehyung stuttered but failed a little relieved. he thought that mr jeon would do something to him or jungkook if he finds out that they're a couple. little did he know, that's exactly what's happening right now.
"he trusts you taehyung-ssi. i beg you, please ask him to let me talk with him. just one last time. try to convince him that i won't do anything... i-i beg you."
taehyung looked at the man, then looked down. he seems to really regret what he has done. taehyung doesn't know what to think, except that everyone deserves a second chance. even an abusive father. mr jeon's intentions seem to be good, taehyung thinks jungkook deserves an apology.
"i'll talk to him tomorrow." taehyung said quietly and the man tried to hold a smirk back.
"thank you so much, taehyung. please take care of jungkook."
taehyung nodded. "i will. i'm gonna go inside now, so..."
"yes, goodnight, taehyung."
the silver haired entered, closed the door and quickly wanted to call jungkook, but haltered. he'll just worry the younger. "i'll talk to him tomorrow."
mr jeon now sat in his car, smirking dangerously. "pathetic, weak and gay. nope, could never be my son."
he dialed a number on his phone and called. after the third beep, a man answered.
"seojoon, my old friend, how have you been?"
"junghyun? how long has it been? 6years?"
"yeah something around that... i wanted to ask if you and your son still live in seoul?"
"yes, we do why?"
"i'm currently in town, wanted to visit an old friend."
"of course, you're always welcome, i'll send you the address."
"thank you, i'll see you in a few, goodbye."
"see you!"
the line cut and mr jeon smirked. seojoon had been always a good friend to him, he doesn't know anything about what happened though.
but mr jeon didn't call him because of that. he did because of his son. mr jeon knew seojoon's son's instagram. yeah, he isn't that out of time.
and the boy has interesting photos uploaded there.
mr jeon knew that taehyung's face seemed familiar, he never guessed he'd find out about it so fast though.
"so our lovely taehyung is bogum's ex boyfriend?" he smirked.
"that'll be fun."
