fifteen
15| yes you!
"how was it in a public school?" taehyung asked smiling lightly. jungkook couldn't deny that he had fun, he met taehyung's friends today, hoseok, yoongi, namjoon and seokjin. jimin was also always there, but they had avoided him. and jimin was furious when he saw jungkook there.
but anyways, school was fun. a tiny smile played on jungkook's lips. "i liked it, it was fun... thank you so much tae."
taehyung smiled, looking down. "you don't need to thank me, kook."
"but i won't start public school again." jungkook said, stopping in his tracks. taehyung stopped too, looking at jungkook in confusion. "wh-why?"
the younger sighed. "i can't be there... with you."
taehyung had by now totally miss the connection and only stared at the ravenette. "i-it's okay, take your time, you should-
"angel..." jungkook breathed out. "i want to go somewhere, please come with me."
taehyung hesitated, because he was scared. he never imagined he could be scared of jungkook. well not of him, but the way he sounded. like ordering him around. and then the clueless of jungkook's past in taehyung's eyes, didn't help that either. what if jungkook isn't who he seems to be?
taehyung quickly shook his head, that's not true. jungkook is sweet and caring-
"do you trust me?" the younger asked and taehyung hesitantly nodded. "i do... but stop scaring me, kook." he giggled, trying to ease this uncomfortableness, but jungkook's face remained emotionless.
taehyung gulped, he knows jungkook is hiding a lot- a whole past, but he never saw jungkook this cold.
"w-where are we going?" taehyung asked quietly, following jeongguk with his backpack. the younger had tears forming in his eyes, but he tried to hold them in, blink them away, do everything so taehyung won't see him cry.
"i want you to meet someone." he said and taehyung nodded, hearing the broken tone in jungkook's voice. they didn't share any more words until they arrived.
taehyung looked around the place, feeling a little scared, but who isn't scared of graveyards?
he quickly walked next to jungkook, trying to stay as close to him as possible, looking down though when he didn't dare to hold jungkook's arm, like he wanted to. he was scared the younger would get mad.
jungkook then suddenly stopped, making taehyung crash against his broad back. "oh-i-i'm sorry kook." he mumbled. jungkook sighed and turned to taehyung, a small smile forming on his lips. "we're here... i will talk to her and then you can meet her." jungkook whispered and taehyung looked at him with glossy eyes.
"i-i will go then and come back when you-"
"no... i want you to listen to us..."
taehyung only nodded, taking his backpack off and dropping it between his legs. he didn't dare to look around, so he had his eyes only fixed on jungkook.
the younger, as always, kneed down next to the grave, looking at it with the most adoring eyes ever. taehyung swears that boy holds galaxies in his eyes.
"hey mommy." jeongguk started speaking. his back was now facing taehyung, but the older could hear every word and his skin ran cold when jungkook mentioned his mother.
"i'm so sorry, i didn't bring you any flowers today either, i had no money and went to school. i just came back with taehyung. do you still remember when i told you about him?"
"you know... i told you i like him a lot and i met him now... i thought he would think i'm ugly and hate me, like everyone else did, but he's different. do you remember? how everyone used to call me an alien, because of my bruises? i came home crying everyday..."
taehyung was feeling so bad, so so bad and jungkook was battling if he really should continue. he doesn't want to lose taehyung.
but he decided to.
"mom... i wish i was strong enough at that time to protect you. now i'm strong, but you aren't here. i wish i wasn't that pathetic whenever dad used to beat you and me. whenever he brought a new girl over and you kept trying to stay strong for me. why didn't i stay strong for you then? why was i so weak? maybe i could've saved you and you were here with me?
"i can understand why you decided to take that step... b-but i don't believe you really did it and left me. you wouldn't do things like that- i know that." by now both jungkook and taehyung were crying.
"i hate dad for doing all of this to us, to you. after you left, he used to beat me more and more and no one was there to save me this time. you weren't there to take my slaps and i'm glad that i got yours too... and end up living this fucked up life that i deserve.
"mom... you know that i like taehyung. i like him so much, but i don't deserve him..."
taehyung whispered a quite 'no', but didn't dare to move.
"he is just perfect, he has everything, friends, family, money, a home... he doesn't know that i don't have any money and that the flat i'm living in is like broken... i was afraid to tell him. i'm still afraid, that's why i'm talking to you. i don't dare to talk to him..."
"i wish i had that all too, mom. at least you by my side. maybe also a little money, so i can at least eat more properly. the money i saved is to less to let me live comfortable and i feel bad to ask grandma about money again. she always forgets it, but i don't mind, i know i'm easy to forget."
"mommy... to be honest, i think taehyung likes me too." a small chuckle left jungkook's lips and a small smile formed on taehyung's. he wanted to hug the younger so badly, tell him that he is fine and that he'll take care of him. tell him that he isn't alone, that taehyung is going to be there. that whatever happened is not his fault.
"he likes me too... but he deserves someone who can give him more than me. someone who can make a comfortable life possible for him. all i can offer him is... is my love."
and that's the moment taehyung felt his knees give in and he fell onto them. he looks at jungkook's back with tears filled eyes, his view getting blurry as he continued to listen to the younger.
"yes i think... i love him." he sighed. "thank you for always listening to me mom... you and taehyung are the only ones left with me and... and i'm afraid to lose him. but he should know the truth about me, i don't want to hide that i'm a pathetic loser who couldn't defend himself-
"no, stop!" jungkook closed his eyes, feeling the familiar warmth of taehyung hugging him. the older was kneeing behind him, face pressed onto jungkook's nape, while he cried quietly. jungkook loves him- and he loves jungkook.
"d-don't say such th-things. i-it's not your fault." the older tightened his grip around jungkook, crying loudly in the back.
"angel... stop crying please and let me go." jungkook said quietly, but taehyung shook his head, only tightening his hold more.
"i-i won't let you go, jungkook." the older whispered. jungkook smiled brokenly to himself. "taehyungie, you deserve so much more, someone who can offer you more, not me-
"yes you! i love you kook!"
