1. Keerti & Sunny elopement scene. The prospective groom's family has left after extending their jhola of tanaas to Raghav & Amma.
"Get out."
Before even Amma or Keerti could say anything Raghav's voice shut them up. Pallavi shuddered all of a sudden. This wasn't a voice she had ever heard before from him. His voice always carried some emotion. Mostly fury. But this time his tone was bland. There was no emotion in it at all. He hadn't even raised his volumn. And frankly that scared Pallavi immensely. Keerti snarled at him defiantly.
"Haan! Jaa rahe hain. Rehne keliye nhi aaye tha. Sirf main Amma ko batane aayi thi. I know unhe hurt hua hain but.."
"Get out."
Keerti shut up. Even she had sensed something wrong in him. She thought he might have burst a vein in anger seeing her outrageous rebellion but here he was stoic like an iceberge. His eyes were trained into the space. Like he was staring through her.
"Wah! Ye dekho Keerti.. ek tum ho jo Amma ka aashirvad lene aayi hon.. even after everything that everyone did here and ek ye janaab. Kicking you out the moment he didn't get his way. What a brother!"
Sunny, sensing his plan to stay in RR Mansion getting foiled jumped up immediately. Pallavi had a sudden desperate urge to bash his stupid head in. Raghav didn't react at all. Except he took a few measured steps in front which had Sunny scampering back like a coward. Keerti met his height head on defiant still. He raised his hand and Pallavi leapt towards him hoping to stop the slap landing on his sister's face evidently. But Raghav just put his hand on her head like he was blessing her. Keerti, Sunny and Amma all were taken aback.
Raghav smiled then. And anyone with half a brain could clearly see through that. The pain shimmering on his face made Pallavi's body ache physically. Raghav chuckled.
"You tricked Pallavi into letting you out. Didn't you?"
Pallavi looked at her husband in shock. Keerti was stunned. She could only stammer.
"I knew it. My wife is too naïve sometimes. I have to say chelli you are one smart a**. Pretty well done. You have successfully destroyed your own life. Atleast no one can blame me now that I didn't try."
He smoothed the hair off her face with a gentleness which was heart breaking to behold. After a decade, Keerti was reminded of the amount of love she had for her eldest sibling at a time. Raghav put his hands in his pocket and walked back turning away from them all, head bent as if contemplating something deeply.
"You know, once I had told my wife ki agar tumme aur usme se mereko kisiko chunna pade toh main hamesha tumhe chunnega."
He chuckled again as if mocking himself.
"Ek universal fact hain. Jo kisi aur ki galti se seekhe woh mahaan, khud galti karke seekhe toh insaan, lekin baar baar ek hi galti kare woh bewakoof hain. Aur mereko abhi realise hua ki duniya ka sabse bada bewakoof main khud ich hain! Baar baar, harbaar main tumhe protect karta chala gaya.. bina ye dekhe ki tum kis raaste pe chala hain.. shayad pyaar aisa ich hain. Logo ko andha, behra, bebaas, majboor, kamzor banake chod deta hain.
Tumne aajtak kya kuch nhi kara mereko hurt karne ko.. mera Pallavi ko hurt karne ko. Lekin maine socha.. behen hain.. chota hain.. but... buss.. buss bohot ho gaya. I'm done. Mera quota full hoke overflow ho gaya hain. I'm sorry Keerti.. par ab main aur tumhe protect nhi kar sakta... nhi karna chahta. I will probably never forgive myself if something happens to you but uss dard ke saath samjhauta karke jee lega main... iss dard ke saath aur nhi jee sakta. Tumne kar liya apni manmani.. ab iss gali ke kutte ko loh aur dafaa ho jao mere ghar se! Out!"
Keerti felt tears well up in her eyes. She didn't know why this hurt. This dismissal. Because she never had wanted any approval from Raghav anyways. But somewhere it hurt. She clutched Sunny's hand (who was goggling like a fish out of water) and gave a last look at Jaya who looked away, tears rolling down her face. She looked at Pallavi who had her vision resolutely on her husband's back. Keerti sighed and pulled Sunny out with her. She stopped once at the foyer and looked back at her brother who still refused to turn towards her.
"You know, once I actually believed you loved me. When you took my place in jail. But I was wrong. All you ever wanted was to control me. Good bye Raghav! I wish I had never returned here."
And before Sunny could protest she had gone with him running behind her. Pallavi saw Jaya drag her feet towards her room. She was torn between going after her and staying with Raghav. As if on cue Jaya waved her off and pointed towards her husband who was still staring at the opposite wall. Pallavi smiled towards her mother in law painfully and gratefully both. She went and put her hand on his shoulder gently.
"Raghav... room mein chale?"
He bent his head and his shoulders slumped. She knew the exact moment when his tears started falling cause hers stated rolling along with his. She hugged him from the back wrapping her slender arms tightly around his waist. They stood there for God knows how long sobbing silently. Pallavi finally tugged him with her to their bedroom and had managed to force him into the bed. He looked at her tiredly through tear washed eyes.
"Main haar gaya Pallavi... main Nana aur Arjun ki tarah Keerti ko bhi nhi bacha payaa.. my sister literally jumped into the abyss in front of me and I couldn't save her."
She shook her head and caressed his hair softly climbing onto the bed to tuck herself against him snuggly.
"Tum nhi haare. Bhul gaye tum the Raghav Rao ho! Jeet bhi haar sakta hain par tum nhi... tum kabhi nhi har sakte. Main tumhe haarne dungi hi nhi. Thak gaye thoda Raghav. Rest please? Thoda break lelo.. phir kal se phirse start karte hain na. I'm here with you.. always and forever. Don't fret. Close those handsome eyes for me please...hmm?"
He closed his eyes exhausted. She kissed his forehead and kept brushing his hair till sleep claimed him finally. Pallavi pulled the blanket over them and checked her mobile which pinged once. It was a single message.
"They have reached the house madam. Sunny looks a bit miffed. I'm in cover position."
She smirked and typed a quick message.
"Good. Keep your eyes open. Do not interfere unless he gets violent. Let her see his true face before coming in. Stay put untill then. And tell your man who was digging up that Ahuja's background to send those documents to me."
"Will do ma'am."
Pallavi kelt the mobile at the side table and cuddled close to her husband's chest comfortably before yawning satisfactorily.
My board is set Mr. Ahuja. Your move now.
------------------------------------------------
2. Pallavi dressed up like Telegu Ammai and ready with a cup of morning coffee for her grumpy Rao.
To say Raghav Rao was absolutely smitten with his wife was to say the least. There is something incredibly arousing in seeing your wife dressed in your traditional wear. And the way she was looking at him, like she was starved and he was her personal breakfast laid out, didn't help his state at all. And then the woman had to go and speak his language as well. Though it was adorably cute, the way she stuttered and then fumbled.
He took the coffee while she settled in front of him as close as she could, almost over his lap. He wanted to eat her. Damn! That knowing smirk. The vixen knew her effect on him. His anger pushed at the recesses of his brain screaming at him to not fall into her trap but it was too late. He was ensnared by Pallavi Raghav Rao. Hook, line and sinker.
"Are you by any chance trying to seduce me wife?"
His words sounded husky to his own ears. She came closer to his face and he could smell her body wash and the scent of the mogra flowers in her gajra. She raised an eyebrow copying him and whispered throatily.
"Is it working by any chance husband?"
Damn it! Raghav took a sip from the mug and kept it on the side table and before Pallavi could speak again, his lips had crashed against her. He felt her exquisite taste burst on his tongue. A remainder of the caramel flavoured coffee she must have tasted while preparing for him, a hint of her citrusy toothpaste and something which was definitely uniquely her. Her drank her squeak of surprise and to his utter delight she reciprocated in equal measure. She was inexperienced but adorably eager. Their teeths and tongues clashed in a dizzy battle of dominance and somehow she had landed on the bed with him over her.
He kissed her till both were breathless and left her swollen lips to taste the alabaster column of her throat. She was moaning innocently tugging at his short and soft hair as he pressed down gentle kisses till he reached her collar bones. Then he stopped abruptly catching sight of something.
"What... what is this?"
"Huh?"
She felt his finger outline something on the top of left breast visible from the neckline of her red blouse clearly. She shivered at his touch and raised her head up to see what stopped this delightful... whatever. Whatever this was, which had her insides turning to mush and her mewling like a kitten.
"Oh that! Surprise!"
She declared proudly as he fingered the clear yet calligraphic tattoo on her creamy skin. It was written Ghamandi Rao in an elaborate heart. Pallavi grinned seeing the astounded expression on her husband's face. She had had it done yesterday evening in Amrutha's friends' parlour. And she loved it! She wished he would too. But Raghav was so quiet that nervousness started pooling in her stomach.
"Kya hua Raghav? Pasand nhi aaya?"
She asked sadly. He looked up sharply at that and she gasped seeing tears in his eyes. She sat up on his lap and cupped his face as he averted his gaze.
"Raghav. Kya hua tum... ro kyun rahe ho? Pasand nhi ayaa toh theek hain naa.. main.."
"Chup! Pagal ladki! Bewakoof silly aurat. Tum.. pura.."
His voice choked and he hugged her tiny body tightly to himself. She hugged him back just as tight.
"Kyun... I mean. Kyun kiya? Udhar kyun? Bht zyadaa dard hua hoga naa. Woh needle.."
She could sense the shudder pass through his body at the thought of the needle piercing her skin and felt a liquid warmth pool in her chest warming her heart. She shook her head fondly.
"Nhi hua Raghav. Pkka! Bilkul dard nhi hua.. main theek hun. And ye mera surprise tha tumhaare liye. I wanted to do this for so long. Tum naa..khush hone ki jagah... senti ho gaye. Dht! Bola bhi nhi kaisa lga?"
Raghav nuzzled her head and lifted her face to press a kiss to her forehead. He kept her on the bed again to hover over her. His eyes seemed to slowly drink in her visage and she saw him bent down. She moaned feeling his lips over her tattoo.
"I love it. And I love you. And I am sorry for behaving like a jerk."
Pallavi giggled as his beard scratched her sensitive skin. She wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him to kiss his lips in a sweet peck.
"I love it too. And I love you. And its okay. Agar mujhe pata hota tum tattoo se man jaoge toh kabka bana leti.."
She pouted like a baby and he chuckled at her cuteness and rubbed his nose with hers making her giggle more. Suddenly they heard Keerti screaming about Sunny and their moods took a crushing dive into their knees. Raghav looked at his wife and saw the lines on her forehead. He took an executive decision. He picked her up jumping out of the bed fluidly like a panther. Pallavi squeaked and instantly wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck. He walked towards the door and shut it with a satisfying and resounding thud indicating the entire mansion to stay the f**k out of his room today while Pallavi kept clinging to him like a monkey.
They came out sometime at midmorning and saw Keerti and Sunny fight like jungle cats in the living room. Pallavi adjusted the pallu of her saree hiding the bluish red marks on her collarbone and gave her husband a chershire smirk which he returned mischievously.
3. After Pallavi's Ghar more pardesia dance in Mansi's sangeet [you all might be thinking kaha se kaha chali gyi ladki but I so wanted an AU for this track honestly.]
Pallavi saw Raghav stand arrested in the corner. A rare look of complete awe on his handsome face. His hands were locked in a gesture which showed he might have been clapping or had about to start clapping like the rest. She blushed hotly under her heavy yet pretty pink dress as his eyes continously changed colour as she advanced towards him hesitantly. She could here the last vestiges of the song still ringing in the background as Mansi and her groom twirled on the dance floor. Now that her performance was over, the attention had been moved to the couple of the evening.
She didn't even know why she was walking towards him. There was something so powerful in the aura he emitted that her feet automatically glided in his direction.
Somehow the lyrics of the song matched with her state tragically.
"Ek chitvan mein jyoti aisi
Mann angaan ho jagmag jagmag
Moh ke maari, ek kumaari
Ke pag hove dagmag dagmag
Taar jiya ke ched rahi hain
Preet ki atkheliyaan
Ghar more pardesia
Aayo padharo piyaa..."
Raghav was mesmerized. He saw her approaching him hesitantly. There gazes locked into each other as the noisy world around faded into the background into a unnoticed blur. He had seen her literally fly on the stage as her steps were in perfect harmony to the music which flowed through her sinews. She was beautiful in her boundless ardour. He had finally seen the power behind the restriction in Pallavi Deshmukh.
And Raghav Rao was a power addict. Power in any form drew him like a bee to nectar. In that moment Pallavi was a woman. Not Deshmukh, not Saree ka dukaan.. but just her. A wild tempered soul free of her shackles. And as she neared him and he got the whiff of her perfume he knew he wanted her. He had to have her.
"That was beautiful."
He couldn't stop his words and regretted it immediately seeing the surprise glow in her beautiful face. That didn't sound anything like what a declared enemy should. Damn!
"T..thank you. Are you well? Complimenting me?"
She teased and hr sighed in relief at the easy way she twisted the situation to relax both of their racing hearts. Wait.. why is his heart beating so fast?
"Zyadaa udo mat. Jo accha tha woh tha.. dance accha tha. Main utna bhi bura nhi hain.."
She rolled her eyes good naturedly but before he could say anything Jaya Rao suddenly materialized out of nowhere and snatched her son by the collar and almost dragged him away not noticing Pallavi at all. She jumped and stared at them confused. She followed them and got shocked seeing the slap land on Raghav's face. But what was more shocking was the lady's allegations against her own son. Pallavi saw something in Raghav's expression crumble at his mother's cruel words. Pallavi butted in unable to see the injustice due to miscommunication (more so because she didn't like this defeated look on her fri.. enemy's face)
"Aunty! Aap ko galat fehmi ho gyi hain Aunty. Raghav toh bass.."
"Arre Pallavi tum? Tum theek hain na baccha? Kahaan tha tum? Sab tumhe dhund raha tha.. Vijayji.."
Jaya started while Raghav looked on slightly taken aback at Pallavi's presence and her instictive and instant defence of him. But Pallavi cut her off.
"Haan Aunty main theek hun. Aur aap Raghav ko galat samjh rahi hain. Main kaam se nikli thi.. raste mein.."
"Pallavi! Dekha dada.. kahaan tha na maine aapse. Ye ladki iss Raghav Rao ke saath gyi thi.."
Sulochana Deshmukh's taunting voice broke the trio at the end of the hall to see Vijay Deshmukh, Sharda and Sulochana walk towards them. Disappointment and distaste was candid on the Deshmukh couple's face as they faced their so called daughter. Raghav frowned at the overdressed colorful buffoon he so graciously had nicknamed Bindi walaa Aunty.
"Oh hello BWA kya bakwaas kar raha hain. Pallavi akela hi gaya tha.. usko kaam tha kuch. Aur goonde.."
"Haan! Gunde toh honge hi naa. Tum jo the uske saath.."
Sulochana said cutting him off making his internal barometer rise immediately. Pallavi was scared. The way this was going, the truth of her absence might come out. Then everything will get revealed
Nono.. that can't happen.
"Pallavi! Where the hell were you??? Tumhe idea hain hum kitna pareshaan ho rahe the. Saare guests aaye hue the. Tumhara performance tha.. aur tum kahaan thi?"
Sharda demanded raising her voice for the first time at her. Pallavi was a tad surprised yet she gulped it down as usual. Vijay Deshmukh thundered next not letting either Pallavi or Raghav speak.
"I can't believe it Pallavi! How could you even think about something like this? Tumhe zara si bhi sharm nhi aayi tumhe.. kisi paraye mard ke saath aise raat mein akele nikal gyi.. kisiko bataya tak nhi.. kisine dekh liya hota toh!!! Theek kaha tha Sulochana ne! Humne tumhe zyadaa choot de rakhhi hain."
Raghav gaped at the senile old man while Pallavi felt disbelieve gather like salt water in the corner of her eyes and like a lump in her throat. She caught her father's hand who promptly took it away making her almost stumble only for Raghav to catch her hand to steady her. It was a blink it and you miss it stance but Jaya Rao's hawk like eyes had caught it. Sharda looked at her husband reproachfully.
"Vijay ji aap.."
"Nhi Sharda! Aaj tum kuch nhi bologi! Ye.."
"Baba main toh bass.."
"Ek minute sanki buddha! Tum abhi kya bola? Paraya mard? Pallavi shaadi shuda hain?"
Pallavi looked away and Sulochana gave a wicked smirk. Sharda glared at her but to no avail. She had found the window of opportunity.
"Haan! Aur nhi toh kya? Actually vidwa hain ye. Hamare Mandaar ko shaadi ke raat hi kha gyi hain manhoos. Phir bhi Dada aur Vaiyni ne ise daya karke rakh liya par ye ehsan faramosh toh.."
"Chup ho jao Sulochana!" Sharda screamed but Raghav's voice outsounded everything within vicinity. He was literally shaking with rage. Pallavi who had been standing mum tasting her tears like bitter ashes inside her mouth as she swallowed the humiliation almost jumped out of her skin at that. Jaya looked slightly shocked as well.
"Shut up! Just just shut the bloody f**k up! Tum log!!! Tum log ungrateful ba*tards! Ye aurat tum logo keliye kya kya nhi karti aur tum log ho ke.... matlab kuch bhi. You want to know what happened!!? Mr. Sanki Rambo!? I'll tell you what happened."
Pallavi instantly caught his hand digging her nails in his arm almost shutting him up. She came in front and looked her family straight in the eye. She had had enough. She had given enough of explanations and justifications. She had a self respect and no one has the right to step over it. Not even her parents.
"Bass ho gaya Raghav! Tumhe mere liye koi justification dene ki zaroorat nhi hain. Nahi khud keliye dene ki zaroorat hain. We are all adults here. Kisiko koi explaination ki zaroorat nhi honi chahiye."
Everyone gaped at her. She was firm, a fire burning in her eyes which they had seldom witnessed. And in that moment Sharda knew her daughter was in the right. Vijay was taken aback. What had happened to Pallavi all of a sudden!!!
"Pallavi! What nonsense are you saying! Tumhe bolna hoga ki tum kya kar rahi thi iss gunde ke.."
"Mr. Rao!"
She spat. Raghav looked at her shocked.
"What?" Vijay was dumbfounded at her outrageousness.
"Inka naam. Mr. Raghav Rao naam hain inka. Mere guest hain. Aap please theek se baat kijiye baba. Aur rahi baat main kahaan thi... I was out for some work. And yes Mr. Rao was with me.. and that is none of your concern and neither should it be. I am a twenty four yeard old independent woman whose husband is officially dead.
I am sorry ki mujhe function ke beech janaa padah and I am sorry meri wajah se aap pareshaan ho gaye the. I didn't have time to call and inform anyone. And this won't happen again I assure you. But what I do with my time, with whom am I talking and spending time with is my business.
Mujhe kisiko iss baat koi justification dene ki zaroorat nhi hain. Please understand that Aayi. I mean no distespect baba. But it is what it is. And aap jaisa soch rahi hain Aunty waisa kuch nhi hua tha and agar mere baba ne aapse kuch kahaan then unki taraf se main maanfi maangti hun. There was a misunderstanding."
Everyone looked at her bewildered and for once even Sulochana was tongue tied. Pallavi had never talked back to anyone in a way like this before. It was shocking. Yet somewhere Raghav knew this was what she had hidden under that facade of submissiveness. This fire breathing goddess. He was damn sure had anyone caught him looking at her right now, could have seen the 'I want her' screaming on his face candidly. Vijay Deshmukh stuttered and fumbled but was out of words. Sharda smiled at her daughter proudly and gave Raghav a weird look he couldn't decipher.
"I am sorry for all the confusion Jaya ji. Aap sab chaliye mere saath. Function end hone ko hain..buffet is ready. All must be famished. Come Vijayji, Sulochana, I have to speak with both of you."
Raghav left a small prayer in his mind for the two unfortunate souls who would definitely be on the other end of the dragon mama that Sharda Deshmukh was. He liked her. This woman. He turned to see Jaya look at him weirdly. His cheek and heart both stung at the same time. He tried approaching her but she sighed wearily and left the scene. He swallowed the hurt admirably and saw Pallavi looking at him.
"Ye kya tha Saree ka dukaan?"
"Kya tha maane?"
"Sach batane kyun nhi diya mereko?"
"Itna bada lecture diya tumhe abh bhi message pata nhi laga Rao? I am not answerable to anyone. Neither are you."
He tilted his head and suddenly took a step forward. She uncrossed her arms and instantly went back widening her pretty grey eyes. He smirked and put an arm on the wall opposite trapping her from one side and leaned closer. She fluttered like a dove nervously.
"Ye ye tum kya.."
"Hypothetically speaking say if you had actually left with me then..?"
"I would never.."
"Hypothetically my Saree ka dukaan. Hypothetically if you had gone with me. And hypothetically if I had tried to kiss you? What would you have done?"
He could see her eyes land on his lips for a second and felt his heart burn in the speed it was racing almost. Her eyes suddenly changed shades and became hooded. He felt a thrill go down his blood. They were inches apart.
"Hypothetically I would've kissed you back..."
He smirked victoriously as her fingers came up to play with the collar of his black kurta and tightened there. Then she pushed him away with a loud jerk breaking his daydreams effectively.
"And then kick you in the balls.. hard! Hypothetically..."
He widened his eyes and saw her skip away from his hold fluidly, mirth rolling off her peals of laughter like pearls on a leaf. He took a few moments to calm his breath and felt a strange fire erupt in the pit of his dank cold soul.
I want her...
