" I'm in thatscenewithyour one pass

Myplace under thelight of the spotlight

Those kind words that you throw towards me

I became a lead actor in that moment... "

- DRAMA, TXT

- Lee Keni

I wonder where Yeji had gone off to. I swear, I was just talking to her but then she suddenly disappeared when I tried to reach out to her.

Then I felt that tingling feeling again.

I looked over at the tall vampire who was standing on the other side of the room. He was dressed in a white tee with denim jeans that made his long legs stand out. Then suddenly I noticed that his worn-out converse shoes were walking over to where I am and then in a matter of seconds I heard his voice calling out to me.

"Keni, it's time to wake up... "

I looked at him in confusion and then out of nowhere, I felt something had hit my face. Then I-

"YAH! WAKE UP!" Maya shouted as she hit me with her pillow for the second time.

"OW! WHAT THE F!" I shouted back as I pushed the girl off of my bed.

I heard a loud thud and realized that Maya fell to the wooden floor. I hurriedly sat up and was about to ask her if she was okay, but after seeing the death glare from my best friend, I looked away while innocently whistling.

"What time did you get here last night?" Maya asked as she stood up and brushed the nonexistent dust off from her legs.

I squinted my eyes and said, sounding a little unsure, "Around 10:20ish?"

"Did Jisung walk you back? Because I saw him waiting for you outside Headmistress Lee's office last night."

"Kinda... "

I looked back at the shorter girl and saw her raising her eyebrow at me. Then she asked in confusion, "Kinda? What do you mean by kinda? "

"I, uh, went to the library and Jisung went to his dorm," I answered while getting out of my bed.

"You went to the library at 10 pm? What is Vladimir would you be doing in the library at such a late hour-" Maya suddenly stopped and her eyes went wide. Then she changed the topic and pointed at me continuously while saying, "You went to see him, didn't you? You went to see Park Soobin!"

I looked at her weirdly and sighed. "Well, I've been planning to talk to him for almost a week now... But I just couldn't find him or talk to him at the right time."

"Sooo... Was he at the library?"

"Yeah, he was. I didn't think that he'd be there though cuz it was past 10.."

Then Maya started to squeal her lungs out.

"OH, MY VLAD! THEN IT'S DESTINY THAT YOU TWO BUMPED INTO EACH OTHER LAST NIGHT!" She yelled while jumping around in our room.

I shook my head at her and started to fix my bed. Then I felt her giving me a side hug and heard her laughing. That's when I noticed something with how she was acting. I quickly looked at her and placed my hands on her shoulder. The expressions on my face turned from worry to confusion to realization.

"Did something happen between you and Dakyung oppa?" I asked and then Maya stopped smiling.

A blush crept onto her cheeks and then she ran away to the bathroom. I was shocked by what just happened and suddenly laughed. Then I ran to the front of the bathroom and knocked on the door.

"Awe... Come on, M~! You know you can tell me~!" I called out, but the door stayed shut.

Then I heard Maya's nervous voice from the other side. "He p-pushed me u-up to t-the w-wall."

My eyes went wide at what she just said and then Maya took back her words.

"IT'S NOTHING SEXUAL, KENI!" She shouted and opened the door right away, almost making me fall forward since I was slightly leaning on the once closed door.

"I didn't even say anything about it being sexual..." I muttered under my breath as I stood up properly.

Then Maya sighed and hugged me once again. I understood her right away and hugged her back. I patted the top of my best friend's head and whispered, "It sucks, I know... Having a crush on your Guardian..."

"I just wished that I wasn't born as a Guardian," Maya whispered back.

We both pulled away after another minute and then I smiled at the 18-year-old "How about we have our own Girl's Night with Sungkyung unnie and Minjung unnie?" I suggested, hoping that Maya would say 'yes'.

At first, I thought she would say 'no' since it's a Thursday and we have classes the next day, but she smiled back at me and nodded her head. Then she added in, "As long as there is food, then I'll join!"

I laughed at her love for food and then I heard someone knocking on our door. We both looked at each other and thought the same thing. Who in Vladimir is in their right mind to knock on our door at 6 in the morning?

I quickly walked to the door of our room and opened it. Standing out in the hallway was Chaewon, Minjung, and Noah. When they all saw me, they ran inside and engulfed me into a group hug. I almost lost my balance again, but I felt someone had kept me in my place. I looked over at Maya, who had her hand on my back. I mouthed a 'thank you' and she just laughed. Then the hug dispersed and the other three looked at me in worry and guilt.

"Unnie, are you okay? I heard from Sangmin sunbae who heard from Dakyung sunbae who heard it from Jisung sunbae that you left the headmistress's office late last night."

I almost lost Chaewon with her sudden explanation, but I caught on and smiled at the three. "I'm okay. Headmistress Lee just wanted to talk to me about some other stuff. It's nothing important for now, so please don't worry about me."

Then Minjung spoke up, "How can we not worry about you, Keni? You were punished with everyone's demerits! Have you forgotten how many demerits Jaehyuck sunbae gave to everyone? 20 demerits each!"

I winced at her outburst and sighed, "Headmistress Lee technically lessened it to 5 demerits. My other punishment is to also do volunteer work either in the school garden or school library."

"So, are you going to pass this school year?" Noah asked, joining in after getting some water to drink with Maya's help.

"I am not sure, but if I don't do anything that would get me into trouble again, then I'll be able to catch up with everyone else by the end of this school year," I replied with a small smile.

All three girls, even Maya, gave me an apologetic look. Right there, I already know how much these girls care about me. Maybe I shouldn't keep to myself this time. Bottling up all of my emotions that involve Yeji's death and our short-term friendship... Maybe I should open up to my friends more.

- Park Soobin

"Hyung, did you get to talk to Keni sunbae about that letter?" Haruto asked as we both finished changing into our school uniforms.

I looked over at him through the mirror and shook my head. "Not yet," I replied.

Haruto does not know the full story about the letter, but because he has always been there for me and now that Yeji is gone, I decided to tell him half of the truth about who Ruby was. Of course, I didn't tell him the content of the letter. I already lost my father and Yeji. I'm not willing to risk anything else and lose my only friend.

"Oh? I thought you and Keni sunbae talked last night," Haruto continued.

I bit my bottom lip as I felt my cheeks getting warm.

"Yeah, we did talk." But it was about a different topic.

Then Haruto added in, "Hmm... Maybe if I came back a little later than you two would have talked more."

I sighed and mentally shook my head at the younger Vampire.

"Maybe, I guess." No, not maybe. We wouldn't be talking about anything else because we had something else going on. Plus, did you not see how close our faces were? You even teased me about it.

"Hyung, we should hurry if you wanna eat bread and jam for breakfast!"

I shut my eyes and remembered how Keni looked last night. Her dark brown eyes that carries the words curiosity and mystery. Her not-so-pale skin that would always leave me wanting to touch. Her pink lips that suddenly reminded me of the jam I use for my bread-

Then I opened my eyes and mentally slapped myself.

"Get a hold of yourself, Soobin!" I hissed under my breath as I grabbed my backpack on my bed and turned around to face my roommate. But when I did, I realized that I was all alone in the room.

"Aish! This kid!" I exclaimed out loud after realizing that the 17-year-old Low Blood had left me once again just for food.

I was able to catch up to Haruto before he walked inside the Dining Hall. He cutely apologized to me and said that he just wanted to make sure I get my breakfast since he knows that bread is my go-to food in the morning. I forgave him right out of hunger and maybe because his cute apology got me soft for once.

As we both walked inside, I noticed that the windows that were shattered by the Keeper of the Air Element are now replaced with ivy vines and leaves. I wondered who in their right mind decided to use the Earth Element as a substitute for the broken windows. I could barely see the Dining Hall since the sunlight was being covered by nature's blockings, and instead of the natural light from outside, there were many lit candles in the hall. Three candles each on every table and right above the heads of the student body are floating candles that are only seen in movies like Harry Potter.

"Well, at least the Professors and Headmistress Lee allowed us to eat in here," Haruto spoke up as we maneuvered our way around the Dining Hall to where our table is at.

But when we saw our table, we both were once again surprised to see the group from last night's dinner sitting on the same chairs. The first to have seen me and Haruto was Joseong who waved his hand up and smiling at us with some unchewed food still in his mouth. Bomin saw us after that and the rest joined in like a domino effect.

- 3rd POV

"Do you mind eating first before greeting?" Jaxon asked as he cringed at Joseong's messy behavior.

Then Joseong chewed his food and swallowed it and showed off his now empty mouth right at the older Vampire, who slapped the younger Guardian's shoulder for being disgusting.

"I don't know how girls can fall for a guy like you," Jaxon exclaimed as he sensitively drank from his glass of orange juice.

"Girls like me for my looks, not for my behavior," Joseong said, making everyone around the table quietly roll their eyes at him, even his older brother had to agree with Jaxon on this topic.

Then just around that time Soobin and Haruto sat down on their respective chairs, making the group of friends shift in their own chairs in awkwardness.

"So, how was your sleep, Soobin, Haruto?" Hyosung asked, trying to start a conversation to make the others less awkward.

"It was great! I think I dreamed of cute puppies last night!" Haruto answered back, making the older boys smile softly at him.

Then all eyes moved to Soobin who nervously gulped.

"How about you, Soobin? Got any cute dreams like Haruto?" Doyoung asked in a joking way, but deep down the 19-year-old Guardian was just as curious as one of his hoobaes from the 3rd year.

Soobin was clenching and unclenching his hands from under the table. Not once in his life did he ever get any good dreams. If anything, the only good thing that had happened to him last night was his encounter with Keni and how he almost kissed her. But aside from that. Nothing.

"I didn't dream anything last night," Soobin finally answered.

The group nodded their heads here and there. Then the doors to the Dining Hall opened again and in came another group of friends. But there was something different with this group. Keni and her friends along with Bora and Keira have a new company with them. A tall, slender female with beautiful grey eyes stared back at everyone who all looked at her in curiosity and fascination. The mysterious girl shyly looked away from everyone's eyes and turned to Keni. She whispered something to the 18-year-old Guardian who smiled and softly laughed which made the hearts of two, male vampires beat incredulously fast.

Then the group walked over to Bora's table and sat down. Everyone, but Soobin and the group at his table, was whispering about the new student. They all were wondering who she is and why she just started to attend the academy in the middle of the school year. But with her crazy beauty and shy, yet cute personality, the once biased thoughts of Vladimir Academy had washed down the drain of ignorance. Everyone has now fallen into a spell that no one might be able to break.

"So, Vivien, what school did you study in before transferring here?" Dakyung asked once he and his friends sat down.

Vivien Kang, a 19-year-old Vampire, flashed a shy smile at the group and answered, "Oh, I was homeschooled."

"And your parents? Do we know them?" Maya asked as she nervously sat beside her crush.

"Sadly, no, they died two years ago in a fire accident."

Keni and Bora both perked at the words fire accident. They both don't know why, but they just started to have a bad feeling about the new student.

Then Vivien spoke up in a sweet voice.

"Keni, I heard from someone that you're an orphan."

Lee Keni looked at her in surprise and just when she was about to say something, a voice had called out to her.

"Keni," Soobin called out as he walked over to the table while panting since he had run from his table to the other table. "We have to talk remember?"

The two 18-year-olds looked at each other, both mentally sighing in relief as they saw the other one. Then Keni stood up and turned her head back to her friends with an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, but I have to go." Then she left while taking Soobin's hand in hers. She ignored the hushed whispers and vicious glares from the other students. Then the two stopped once they left the Dining Hall.

"Are you okay?" Soobin asked, worry evident in his voice.

Keni looked back at him and let go of his hand, making Soobin feel empty in the inside once again.

"Yeah, I am..." She answered, not really wanting to delve into the sudden situation back in the Dining Hall with the new girl.

Soobin saw the discomfort in Keni's eyes, so he changed the topic. "By the way, who was she? The new student, I mean."

"Professor Min was the one who introduced us to her. Her name is Vivien Kang. She's a new classmate of Jisung."

"Vivien... Kang..." I whispered as the name sounded so familiar to me, but sadly I couldn't pinpoint where I've heard the name before.

Then Keni said while shifting on her other foot, "Oh, right, since we already left the Dining Hall and made a scene, I don't think we should go back in there and grab some food."

I chuckled and nodded my head. "Don't worry, the Kitchen wouldn't mind in giving us some bread and jam," I told her as I started to walk to the academy's kitchen.

"Wait, really?" Keni asked with happy eyes.

I smiled at her reaction and replied back, "Yes, really. Also, if we're going to have a book review and..."

I stopped in the middle of my sentence and fake a cough, not wanting to get into that side of the topic just, yet. I looked over at Keni and I can see that she knew right away by what that meant. So, we continued walking down the corridor, but once in a while, I've noticed that we'd steal glances of each other from here and there.
