" I know you're seeing black and white

I'll paint you a clear blue sky

Without you I am colour-blind

It's raining every time I open my eyes... "

- Blue, Troye Sivan ft. Alex Hope

- Kang Jaehyuck

flashback - a day before the funeral

I walked inside the office of the Headmistress and bowed my head in respect before closing the doors behind me.

"Good morning, Headmistress Lee. My father told me that you needed to talk to me?" I asked while walking across the big room and to the front of the wooden desk where the academy's headmistress work papers can be seen.

"Good morning, Jaehyuck-ssi," The older woman greeted back with a soft smile. "Ah, yes, your father is right. I have something to discuss with you, so please take a seat before we start."

I took a seat on one of the two chairs beside me and looked back at Headmistress Lee, who smiled at me again. Then I asked, feeling a little nervous, "Headmistress, may I ask what we're going to discuss about? Is it about the Guardian's Training classes? The ones that Professor Ahn wouldn't be able to teach?"

Headmistress Lee shook her head and said, "No, no, this has nothing to do with Professor Ahn's maternity leave and the classes. I'm not sure on how to tell you this, Jaehyuck-ssi, but... The Council just gave me their Decision yesterday afternoon after talking with your father."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and wondered what the Decision has anything to do with me. Then Headmistress Lee continued on while taking something out a drawer from her wooden desk. "Jaehyuck-ah..." She called out, like how a mother would call out to her child. I tried to see what the headmistress had taken out of her drawers, but it was clasped tightly inside her right hand. "I am sorry to say this, but... The Council decided to change your Vampire."

My breathing hitched in my throat. I clenched my hands into fists on my lap. I gritted my teeth together while staring at the now opened hand of Headmistress Lee. Lying on her open palm is a pin with a crescent moon and a jaden gem on its side. The familiar pin made me feel nauseated.

"Do you know what this is, Jaehyuck-ah?" The gentle voice of Headmistress Lee asked, bringing me back to my senses.

"Y-yes, ma'am. That's... That belonged to Yeji," I answered while trying to hold my emotions back.

I can't show my weaknesses in front of the headmistress.

Then Headmistress Lee nodded her head and added in, "A family heirloom of the Park Clan. Song Yeji's evidence of being Park Soobin's Guardian."

"The Council... They want me to be Soobin's new Guardian?" I asked, feeling like the walls around me are closing in as I try to take in everything.

"Yes, that's right. And this pin now belongs to you."

"But... It's Yeji's. I cannot... Soobin gave that to her."

The Headmistress sighed, understanding by what I mean. But she still handed it to me after standing up from her chair and walking over to my side.

"I saw a letter written by Yeji herself. It was like her Last Will & Testament. It said in the letter, that she entrusts this pin to you and another Guardian-"

"Then give it to the Guardian..." I said while taking deep breathes in. "I can't take this pin, and I definitely can't leave Hyosung's side. He needs me."

"We've already talked to Hyosung and his parents. They think that it's best for you to be Soobin's new Guardian since he's a Royal Blood, and because the Council thinks that the person who murdered Yeji is also after Soobin."

I shut my eyes tightly and thought in pain, "Hyosung? He agreed to this? Why? Is it because he is a High Blood and that he doens't need protection?"

Then Headmistress Lee spoke up, "Jaehyuck, you have no choice. This is why I want to apologize to you. I know how much it means to you for being Hyosung's Guardian. You were already assigned to him at a young age. You both grew up together... But Soobin also needs you."

"How can you be so sure that he needs me?" I asked while opening my eyes.

"I... I can't see his future anymore," Headmistress Lee said quietly in frustration.

I looked up at her in confusion and asked, "You can't see his future? What does that mean?"

Lee Jieun looked at me and answered with a painful look in her eyes, "His fate... It starts now. I don't want to believe it, but The Council believes that he'll die soon. This is why you've been choosen to be the young Vampire's new Guardian."

"What about the other one? The one that Yeji mentioned in her letter?"

"She's not ready."

"She? A female Guardian?"

Jieun nodded her head. Then I asked out of curiosity, "Is it Minjung?"

"No, thankfully, it's not Minjung."

"Thankfully? Why are you thankful that it's not Minjung?"

"Because the other Guardian that Yeji is talking about is someone who should never know about this and who she really is."

Is it who I think it is?

Present Time

"What did you just say?" Keni asked both in shock and curiosity.

Is it you, Keni? Are you that other Guardian that Yeji thought of?

I looked over at her and answered with a serious expression, "I've just been assigned as Lord Soobin's Guardian."

If it is... Then what is so special about you?

"So, the Council finally decided?" Jisung spoke up as he walked over to Keni's side, his arm snaking around her shoulders.

...If you're the other Guardian, then does Jisung and Sungkyung know about the exchange?

Then Haruto ran over to the group and stood beside his roommate with a confused look on his face and some bread crumbs on the side of his mouth.

Do they know who you are? Who you really are?

"What did I miss?" He asked while looking at each one of us, making Bomin sigh to himself at the younger Vampire.

- 3rd POV

Classes resumed and everyone now knows that Jaehyuck is Soobin's new Guardian. Many Vampires had asked Hyosung if he was okay with the sudden exchange. Of course, Hyosung being his flexible self answered like a mature person does.

"It was said in the Law that if a Vampire's Guardian dies, another Guardian must be chosen for that Vampire," He answered with a smile. Then he added in, "If it's the Council's Decision then, I have no right to go against them. I only hope that Jaehyuck will do his best to protect his new Vampire, and that Soobin will take good care of his new Guardian."

After Hyosung's answer was shared to everyone else in the academy, the usual life of the students continued on. Up until it was finally the Guardian's Training class.

"Unnie, are you sure that having my class and your class would be a great idea?" Keni asked Minjung as she cautiously glanced at her fellow 3rd Year classmates and the 4th Year Guardian's classmates.

"Don't worry too much, Kei, my classmates listens to me just as much as they listen to Professor Ahn," Minjung replied back, trying to not only encourage the younger Guardian, but herself, too. After all, it's her first time to actually teach without their professor's supervision. But since Professor Ahn is on a maternity leave, Minjung and the other Top Rankers were assigned to be the sub-teachers for the classmates' training.

"YAH! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!" A voice of a female Guardian from the 4th Year shouted, making Keni and Minjung jump up in surprise.

The two top rankers saw the 4th Year shouting at a 3rd Year for being stupid and not looking at her path while walking.

"And you were saying?" Keni told Minjung as she sighed and walked to her group of friends, leaving a now stressed out Minjung.

"Ah! Minjung-ah! Shouldn't you be teaching the 3rd Years some kicks by now?" Doyoung softly joked as he walked to his fellow 4th Year's side.

"Did you just try to joke?" Minjung asked with a raised eyebrow.

Choi Doyoung chuckled. "Try? Me?" Then he became serious and asked, "You okay? You look a little pale."

"Yeah, just stressed out right now."

"You know... We could always ask for Bomin hyung's help."

"No. I can do this. Just make sure that our classmates will act civil around the 3rd Years."

"Now, that... I'll try," Doyoung exclaimed with a wink before jogging over to his classmates.

Minjung then looked at Keni and the younger Guardian's classmates, who were doing the basic exercise drills. She somehow wished to be in Keni's class instead of her own where most of the stubborn and spoiled Guardians are in. It looks so easy to teach the 3rd Years rather than the 4th Years who think they already know what to do.

তততততততততততততততততততততততত

After the exercise drills were executed, Minjung got everyone in pairs for the sparring practice. All went well up until the same 4th Year Guardian from earlier started to do advance defense against Cha Chaewon, a 2nd Year Guardian who Keni decided to invite to today's class. Minjung didn't realize the different sparring techinique, but Keni did and the 18-year-old Guardian had stopped the practice.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry," Keni called out as she stood up from the grass and walked over to the sparring mats. "But the techinique that you just used... it shoulnd't be used for today's class."

The 4th Year glared daggers at her, but Keni didn't falter instead she returned back the glare. "How dare you go up against me?" The 4th Year spoke up, feeling offended.

"Diana, enough, what's wrong?" Minjung asked as she walked over to the sparring mats.

Diana Yoon, the 4th Year who has been making a scene since earlier, faced her classmate and told her, "You know what's wrong is you and this wannabe Guardian's teachings! I can't believe the Headmistress chose you as our substitute teachers! This is ridiculous!"

Keni looked taken back from the sudden words from the older student. Minjung sighed and rubbed her temples while Doyoung walked over to the girls.

"Diana, I think you need to check if it's your month-" But the poor boy, who was trying to lighten up the mood, was cut off.

"SHUT UP, CHOI DOYOUNG!" Diana yelled at the 4th Ranking Guardian.

Keni finally lost it and grabbed Diana by her t-shirt. The younger Guardian pulled her over her body and the older Guardian flew upwards and landed behind Keni on the grass. Keni then placed her right foot on Diana's neck, but not putting any pressure on it.

Then she spoke up with so much venom that it scared her friends, Diana and everyone else who were watching. "We are doing our best here. If you think that you can teach 60 students all at once, then I dare you to do it... ALONE!"

"Keni, let go," Yoon Maya, her other best friend, spoke up as she gently pulled the girl away from Diana.

Keni did what Maya told her to do and shakily took deep breaths in. Then she looked around and added in, "If anyone of you think that you can just disrespect me, Minjung unnie and Doyoung oppa, then you are all wrong! Headmistress Lee gave us this position. Along with the authority of giving you demerits for bullying and mistreating your fellow students."

Then she walked away, but then out of nowhere, Diana pulled Keni's hair, surprising everyone. "I. DO. NOT. FOLLOW. AN. ORPHAN. LIKE. YOU!"

The 19-year-old then pushed Keni to the ground and all hell broke out when Maya kicked Diana from behind. The next thing we know Chaewon had also joined in when a 4th Year male Guardian almost punched Maya. Minjung tried to stop Diana from going near Keni, but the other girl did a back kick at her classmate which got Minjung's nose to bleed. Doyoung came from behind Diana and held her then Minjung did something to knock Diana out. The two older Guardians then looked around the field to see that their classmates are now fighting against the 3rd years. The only ones who are trying to stop the fight were Keni, Maya, Chaewon and a couple more of 3rd Years.

তততততততততততততততততততততততত

Class ended for the other students and Doyoung heard his Vampire calling out to him.

"What's going on out here?" Shin Jaxon, a 4th Year High Blood Vampire, asked as he hurriedly ran to his Guardian.

Noah Kim, who is Minjung's Vampire, followed right after the older boy and stood beside her Guardian whose nose finally stopped bleeding. "Unnie, what did you do to make your classmates and Keni's classmates fight against each other?" She asked with yet another dramatic tone.

"Diana fueled the fire," Doyoung answered, not wanting to go into full details since he was tired from the whole new drama.

"Well, are you not going to stop them?" Jaxon asked as he cringed after witnessing a 4th Year student land on his face.

"Exactly, how can we stop 60 students from fighting?" Minjung snapped, finally losing it.

Then Noah suggested, "Why not ask Bomin oppa-" But Minjung gave her Vampire a look that told her to shut up.

"Jaxon, man, do you think you can use your gift?" Doyoung asked with a hopeful tone.

The 19-year-old vampire looked at his Guardiana and sighed. "I don't want to hurt anyone, Do."

"You won't hurt anyone. Don't worry."

"Alright... Fine, I'll do it."

Then in one second the ground started to shake and roots from below the field shot out from the ground. It surprised the students and in one swfit movement, Jaxon commanded the roots to grab all 3rd Years. Keni and Chaewon were soon screaming in surprise while Maya was cursing at the root that grabbed her ankle. The next thing that everyone knows a strong gust of wind welcomed the 4th Years and made them stand still on their spots. Minjung, Doyoung and Jaxon then looked over at Noah. The 18-year-old Vampire's eyes had gone white as she commanded the Air Element. Then the fight stopped.

"YAH! SHIN JAXON! PUT ME DOWN, YOU BLOODY IDIOT!" Maya shouted as she glared daggers at the older student.

Jaxon did what Maya told him to do and the young Guardian started to fall down towards the field. But before she could hit the grassy ground, someoen caught her. Han Dakyung had ran across the field from the stairs of the academy after seeing his Guardian falling from the sky. He caught Maya just in time and smiled at her when she saw him. The two continued to look into each other's eyes until they both heard Keni and Chaewon screaming again. But before they could hit the ground, two other Vampires caught them. Jisung caught Keni in his arms while Chaewon fell on top of Sangmin's back, making the two fall to the ground.

"Are you okay?" Jisung asked his Guardian in worry.

"I almost lost my vocal cords back there," Keni answered, feeling scared that she might have broken her vocal cords.

The young, male vampire rolled his eyes at her and puts her back down to her feet. Then they both saw Chaewon apologizing to Sangmin, who muttered under his breathe, "Maybe I should have just gone to my dorm and slept."

Then a loud voice boomed out into the field, making everyone jump both in surprise and fear.

"WHAT IN VLADIMIR HAPPENED OUT HERE?!" Kim Bomin yelled out loud, raging in anger and shock.

"I can already see everyone in the Detention Hall," Dakyung whipsered to himself and to Maya, who still happens to be in his arms.

"Um... Dakyung... You can put me down now..." Maya whispered back while holding back her blush.

The Vampire looked away from a furious Bomin and back at his Guardian. "Oh! Right!" He spoke up and placed Maya down. "Sorry about that."

Maya nervously smiledat him. "It's okay, and, um, thanks!"

"...You're welcome." Dakyung smiled back, feeling both relieved and happy after not seeing any wounds on his Guardian.

"20 DEMERITS EACH!" Another voice spoke up, breaking Maya and Dakyung's moment.

Everyone then saw the 2nd Ranker. Bomin turned his head to see Jaehyuck walking down the stairs and standing a feet away from the former one.

"FOR DISRUPTION OF CLASSES AND USED OF VIOLENCE," Jaehyuck continued on, making Bomin looked at him in irritation.

Then he asked in a hushed voice, "Jaehyuck, what do you think you're doing?"

"What do you think I'm doing, Bomin?" Jaehyuck replied back with authority.

Bomin clenched his fists and said, "20 demerits is too much."

Jaehyuck raised one of his eyebrows at the other Guardian before asking, "What? Are you afraid that your Vampire's little sister will not be able to pass this school year with 20 demerits?"

Bomin was about to say something, but Sungkyung and Leela showed up.

"Enough! The both of you!" Sungkyung hissed while glaring at the two.

Then Leela whispered, "You're both mkaing a scene."

Bomin and Jaehyuck then looked around and noticed that most of the students were all outside watching them. They both sighed and looked back at each other before looking back at the younger Guardians.

"Jaxon, let the 3rd Years go. Noah, use the air to bring them safely back to the ground," Bomin instructed as he unclenched his fists.

The two younger Vampires did what they were told and the rest of the 3rd Years were back on their feet. Then Jaehyuck called Minjung, Doyoung and Keni over. The three Guardians quietly and nervously walked to their Senior Guardians.

"Before we report this to the Headmistress, Bomin and I would like to know what exactly happened out here in the field," Jaehyuck said while crossing his arms over his chest.

Minjung nodded her head with a short 'yes' as her answer. Doyoung nodded his head while looking at his shoes. Keni held her eyes on Jaehyuck and at the pin on his school's tie. Her heart clenched when seeing Yeji's pin. Then she felt it again.

It was the third time she felt the tingling feeling in her.

She looked around the area to see if he was there, but she didn't see him in the crowd of students.

Soobin... Are you watching me... again?

তততততততততততততততততততততততত

The dark brown haired Vampire glanced out of the library's glass windows and found the young Guardian walking toward his new Guardian with Minjung and Doyoung. He saw the fight from earlier and felt his blood boil when the 4th Year pulled Keni's hair. He didn't know why he was feeling such anger for the female Guardian. But it definitley wasn't the first time.

He felt the tingling feeling again and hid behind the pillar that was next to the glassed windows. He took a small peek outside again and saw Keni looking around.

"She must have sensed it," Soobin whispered under his breath as he continued to look at her.

Then he stepped back out into the light and view when Keni couldn't find him.

Soobin sighed to himself and took the crumpled piece of paper out of his pant's pocket. He stared at his ex-friend's handwriting and back at Keni.

Then he furrowed his eyebrows in frustration. "Why now? Why do you have to show up now... Lee Keni?"

please answer these questions as your first active check:

1. Is Keni the other Guardian that Yeji mentioned in her "Last Will & Testament" that Headmistress Lee read? If yes, why? If no, why?

2. What did Headmistress Lee meant by "she is not ready " and "she should never know about this and who she really is "? Is there a secret about the other Guardian that she should never know about?

3. Why do you think Diana (she's just an extra btw xD) was so against Minjung and Keni teaching them? Especially t Keni?
