Three hours later, at the Dining Hall...

- Lee Bora

I quietly sat down at my table which is near the windows in the academy's Dining Hall. I placed my bag down on the floor beside my chair and looked around. I noticed that the 4th Year and 3rd Year Guardians were ignoring each other after their unexpected fight during their Training class. It was a big surprise for everyone to have witnessed such a scene out in the field, but it's not like it was the first time in this very academy to have Guardians fight against each other.

"Unnie~!" A soft voice called out from behind me.

I turned around and saw Jung Keira walking over with her tray full of food. I mentally smiled, happy to see my roommate and that she'd be sitting with me again. It can be lonely to just eat by yourself in a six-seater table. So, everytime Keira would show up, I felt less lonely.

"Can I sit here again?" The younger Vampire asked once she stood by the empty chair beside me.

"There are like five extra chairs, Keira, so I don't see why you can't sit here," I replied back smoothly, not wanting to show to her and those near us that I'm feeling happy and relieved to see the 17-year-old again.

Keira smiled excitedly and sat down beside me. Then she placed her tray down on the table and was about to say something, but she was cut off when a group of Guardians and Vampires walked over to our table.

We both looked at the group in surprise and confusion.

"Um, hey," Lee Keni greeted with an awkward wave from her right hand.

"Hello, sunbae!" Keira greeted back with her bubbly aura welcoming Keni and her friends.

Then it became quiet. An awkward silence could be heard in our area of the Dining Hall. Everyone who were once busy eating with their friends now had their eyes at my table. Dakyung had to fake a cough to break the awful vibe and then Maya spoke up, "Sooo, uh... Keni has something to ask you, Bora!"

Then she nudged Keni's elbow, making the 18-year-old gulped her non-existent saliva down her throat. "Ah, haha, yeah..." Keni said while her shaking eyes looked back and forth from me to Keira and then back to me again.

I mentally sighed and wondered what the Guardian wanted. Then my inner question was answered when Keni quickly asked, "Canwesithere?"

- 3rd POV

No one saw it coming.

Not even Jisung and Sangmin who were just as curious as everyone else around them on why Keni had suddenly dragged their group to the New Blood's table.

Then Bora spoke up, "Are you joking right now?"

Keni winced at the question. She had a feeling that Bora wouldn't just let her and her group of friends sit down with her and Keira. After all, this is the first time that they even talked in person. But Keni didn't give up. She really wanted to know more about Bora. She honestly didn't care about her being a New Blood and after what had happened earlier in her Training Class with Diana, she suddenly felt like she didn't belong in the same category as her classmates and fellow Guardians. Anyone can see it. They can see how different she is from the rest of the Guardians-In-Training.

She even questions about who she really is and who her biological parents are.

But within the 18 years of her life, no one had answered her questions.

Not until she had seen a cute kitten in the academy's garden. She was playing with the animal and someone showed up while asking her, "Who are you talking to you?"

Keni then officially met Song Yeji. The former 1st Ranker and the first-ever Rare Blood Guardian from her generation. Keni remebered answering the older Guardian that she was playing with this cute, white kitten and after seeing the confused expression on Yeji's face, Keni thought that she made a mistake or something. Then Yeji asked Keni where the kitten was and Keni pointed at it, but Yeji saw nothing. That was the day when the two found out that Keni can see the Lost Souls. Since then Yeji has been teaching Keni on how to control the younger Guardian's gift. No one, but the two knew about Keni being a Seeker or Keeper of the Souls, which is its formal name.

Through Yeji's secret teachings, the two became close and soon enough Yeji became like a mother-figure to Keni. The older Guardian had always made sure that the younger one would eat her meals at the right time, and checking up on Keni's schoolwork to see if she's studying well. The two somehow formed a connection and ended up making Keni connected to someone else without the two knowing.

On their last day of school before the Holiday Break would start, Yeji wanted to tell Keni something, but had found out that the 18-year-old had already left the academy with her older, adopted siblings. So, Yeji wrote a letter. She wrote down the things she knows about Keni. The answers to the young Guardian's questions. This letter was hidden somewhere in Yeji's room and two days before the funeral happened, Headmistress Lee found the letter and learned of Keni's origin and who her parents are.

The Headmistress decided to hide the truth from Keni until the right time came, but after telling Jaehyuck about the letter the next day, she knew that there is nothing that can hide the blossoming truth of who the young Guardian really is.

"No, I am not joking," Keni answered with a soft smile, no longer feeling awkward and nervous. "I'd like- We'd like to sit with you for tonight's dinner... If you don't mind."

Bora can feel Keni's heartbeat with her being the Keeper of Blood. She didn't feel that the other girl was lying, so she smiled back which left everyone who was nearby in shock.

"Alright. Take a seat."

Keni's soft smile soon turned into a big one. Then she started to walk to the other side of the table and sat down across from Bora. Jisung followed his Guardian and sat down beside her. Maya and Dakyung sat down together by the side of the table, the female Guardian on Keni's right and male Vampire on Bora's left side. Sangmin lazily walked over to the table and sat down across from Maya and Dakyung after stealing an empty chair from another table.

Then the group started to eat and once again another awkward silence engulfed the seven teenagers.

Soobin was just as shock as everyone else. He started to think about how brave the Guardian was for breaking the biased beliefs of everyone in the hall. Then he suddnely thought about himself.

Who would've thought that Keni would sit with Bora? But then again... who would even sit with me?

"Hyung! Are you going to eat that?" Haruto asked, breaking Soobin out of his thoughts.

Right, aside from this 17-year-old Vampire.

"You mean, this?" Soobin pointed at his dessert which was a choco mint ice cream.

Haruto nodded his head with a bright grin. Soobin softly chuckled and handed the younger boy his bowl of ice cream. Then he watched as Haruto scooped up the ice cream and ate it with a dreamy look on his face. Soobin shook his head at him and looked back at Keni. He suddenly remembers that tingling feeling and wondered why he only felt it when Keni was in her weakest state. As the Keeper of Fire, he couldn't come up with any ideas, so he thought about asking Haruto, but when he looked back at the Vampire, he decided not to bother him.

Once again Soobin's thoughts were disrupted when he heard someone's tray being placed down on the table. He quickly looked up and saw Jaehyuck with his group of friends- and Bomin, of course. Those two may not get along well with each other, but because the two are from Royal Blood families, they are supposed to act as civil as they can for their family's reputation. Then Jaehyuck sat down on the side of the table by Soobin's left side, Hyosung followed after his old Guardian and sat down on Jaehyuck's left side. This continued on with the other boys. Doyoung sat across from Soobin. Joseong sat across from Haruto. Jaxon sat across from Hyosung. Then lastly, Bomin sat across from Jaehyuck.

"What are you all doing here?" Soobin finally asked, making the uninvited guests look away nervously, except for Jaehyuck, Hyosung and Bomin.

"Jaehyuck thought that it'd be nice to sit with you and Haruto," Hyosung answered while he took his choptsticks from his tray.

Then Bomin added in, "Of course, I had to make sure that Jaehyuck wouldn't cause a scene. So, I was forced to sit here, but I don't mind sitting with you, Soobin."

Soobin raised his eyebrow at the two and sighed. Then the boys around the table heard Maya's shrieking from Bora's table which was two tables away. They all looked over there and saw Dakyung, Keni and Jisung laughing to themselves while Maya glared at her friends. Sangmin was too tired to laugh with his friends while Bora was biting her lip from laughing and Keira had taken her phone out to take a picture of a fuming Maya.

"What happened to her?" Joseong asked as he took a quick bite from his dinner.

Then Jaxon replied back to his adopted brother, "I think Dakyung spilled his soup on her jeans."

Bomin sighed as he watched Keni and Jisung laughing at their friend. "They should help her out, poor Maya..." He muttered under his breath.

Soobin then saw Keni looking at him and the two froze on their seats. For Soobin, Keni's dark brown eyes gleamed under the warm, calming lights of the Dining Hall, making him wonder if they were the same shade as his favorite chocolates. For Keni, Soobin's golden red eyes sent shivers down her spine and made her realized that his eyes were like the blazing fire that you'd see in a campsite at night time. The two continued to stare at each other until one of their friends had called out their names.

"Soobin hyung!" Haruto called out and at the same time Maya had was shouting Keni's full name out of frustration.

The two pulled away from each other's eye contact and they were once again back in the real world.

"YAH! LEE KENI! GIVE ME SOME TISSUES, YOU PEASANT!" Maya shouted at Keni, making the other Guardian looked at her best friend in surprise.

"No need to shout," Keni told her as she grabbed three pieces of tissues from her backpack.

Then she handed it over to Maya, who hurriedly took it and started to wipe the stain on her jeans. But it didn't come off, and this pissed her off so badly.

"I'm really sorry, Maya-" The 18-year-old glared at her Vampire and said, "Apology not accepted!" Then she stood up and left, making Dakyung frown and his shoulders cowering forward to the table.

"You should run after her," Jisung said after swallowing a chewed piece of meat from the sweet & sour chicken.

Dakyung shook his head. "And have my tongue cut out? No, thank you."

Then Sangmin threw a crumpled piece of paper at him and joined in, "I thought you liked-"

"Okay! I'll go!" Dakyung exclaimed, not wanting his roommate and best friend to spill his secret.

Then he ran out of the Dining Hall, leaving Keni, Jisung, Bora, and Keira in total confusion.

"What did he like?" Keira innocently asked Sangmin. But the other Low Blood Vampire shook his head and pretended to zip his mouth.

"Maya! Come on!" Dakyung called out as he followed after his Guardian.

But the Guardian didn't stop from running away. So, Dakyung decided to use his Vampire speed and once he got near Maya, he pushed her up to a nearby wall in the corridor of the academy. He made sure that the impact wouldn't hurt her head by placing his hand in between the wall and her small head. His other hand, without knowing, was on her side and it stayed there until Maya tried to push Dakyung away. But Han Dakyung used his strength and stayed still which eventually made Maya give up.

"What do you want?" Maya asked while avoiding her Vampire's gaze.

"Just hear me out," Dakyung answered as he slowly lifted his hand away from her, but his hand that was in between the wall and Maya's head stayed in its spot.

Maya sighed, knowing that she won't be able to win against a Vampire's strenght. "Go on then. You have one minute."

Dakyung crossed his eyebrows at her and exclaimed in disbelief, "One minute? Seriously?"

Then the 18-year-old Guardian started the countdown. "59... 58... 57... 56-"

"Yah! Okay, okay!" Dakyung said in hurry. Then he continued on, "I'm sorry for spilling the soup on you. I didn't mean to do it and I won't ever try to do it again. You have every right to get angry at me, but please don't ignore me like how you just did earlier."

Maya's emotions were all over the place as she listened to his apology. It made her want to hug him and to never let go. She wanted to tell him that she wasn't that angry at him, but she didn't. She was kind of enjoying- okay, maybe she was fully enjoying this new side of Han Dakyung. Who wouldn't? After all, she likes him. But she knew better than to tell him that. A Vampire and a Guardian is forbidden to have a relationship that wasn't a platonic one.

"Hello? Maya? Are you listening to me?" Dakyung asked, his voice cracking from the sudden emotions he was feeling in the inside.

He wanted to see her smiling and laughing again. He honestly hates to see his Guardian all angered up and the epxression that says she might want to punch a wall. He wanted her to be happy... even if it wasn't him making her happy. Dakyung winced at that thought and wished that he was reborn as a Guardian to qualify himself as Maya's partner, but sadly a Vampire can only be reborn as a Vampire in his next life whilst a Guardian can either be reborn as a full Human with no memories from their past life, or a Vampire with memories from when they were Guardians.

Then Maya spoke up making Dakyung look at her with hope in his eyes. "I'll forgive you if..."

"If?" Dakyung pushed on, the intensity of his curiosity making him go nuts.

Then Maya looked at him and continued on, "If you-" But she was cut off when their heard voices bouncing off of the walls in the corridor.

After Dakyung left the Dining Hall to catch up to Maya, another group of friends were quietly eating over at their table.

Sungkyung and Minjung were trying to eat in peace, but the table that were in just had to have that silent vibe. They were just as quiet as Keni and her friends over at Bora's table, but it wasn't an awkward silence that was happening between the group of seven girls. As Sungkyung and Minjung steal glances at each other while trying to communicate without saying a word, Chaewon was taking some sips from her glass of mago juice while her Vampire, Leela, was just playing with her food. Yebin, who was sitting across from Chaewon, glared at the younger Vampire, and suddenly snapped at her.

"Yah! Don't play with your food!" She said to Leela, making the other four Vampires and one Guardian choke on their saliva or food.

Leela mentally sighed and pushed her plate away. Then she spoke up, "I've lost my appettite." And was about to stand up, but Yebin beat her to it and walked to the other side of the table.

"Don't act like this, Leela!" Yebin hissed, making the 19-year-old Vampire bite her bottom lip from crying.

Finally, Hanuel stood up since she was the nearest from the two. She pushed Yebin away from Leela and said, "Leave her alone, Roh Yebin. Just let her be for f**k sake."

Once again for the third time in the Dining Hall, everyone has their eyes on the third group that just gave them a new drama to watch.

"Leave her alone? Let her be?" Yebin repeated what Hanuel said in a sracastic way. "No! Absolutely, not! She has to eat whether she likes it or not!"

Then all hell broke lose.

A strong gust of wind broke the glassed windows inside the Dining Hall, making everyone dropped down to the floor to cover themselves from the shards of glass. Right in the middle of the mess was Noah and her bright, glowing white eyes.

"Enough," She exclaimed while facing Yebin. "If you're just going to bully Leela, then I suggest for you to sit soemwhere else. I've had enough of your attitude since the funeral. Can't you see how you're making Leela feel? If you really care about her, then stop this nonsense and eat your goddamn dinner."

Then Noah's eyes returned back to its normal color, but unfortunately the shards of glass didn't return back to the broken windows.

Sungkyung and Minjung then stood up and at the same time, Bomin, Jaehyuck, and Hyosung walked over to their table. They all stood near Leela while blocking her away from Yebin. The 19-year-old Vampire got the message and used her gift to fly out of the Dining Hall through one of the broken windows.

Then the doors to the Dining Hall opened, revealing the Professors and Headmistress Lee.

"Everyone please head back to your dormitories. That is all for tonight's dinner," the Headmistress instructed and then everyone got up and quickly out of fear, worry and panic had left the place. But then one of the Professors stopped a couple of students from leaving.

"Ms. Noah Kim, Ms. Yoon Minjung, Ms. Lee Keni, Ms. Cha Chaewon, Mr. Shin Jaxon and Mr. Choi Doyoung. Please, stay behind."

Bomin and Sungkyung both looked at each other and over where Keni was at. They both suddenly feel like this night won't end on a good note.
