3RD POV

"Hey, are you okay?" Dakyung asked Maya as she entered the lounge room.

She sighed and shook her head. "BasiCal is killing me," she replied back and earned a chuckle from her vampire.

Dakyung made a face and continued on, "But isn't that like for humans who are going to study for the Science major?"

"It is."

"Then why are they making you guys study BasiCal?"

"Aha... Ask my parents."

"Maya! There you are!" Keni called out as she, Minjung and Jaehyuck hurriedly walked inside.  

Maya and Dakyung turned their heads and in sync asked, "Something wrong?" The two gave each other weird looks before giving their attention back to their friend.

"I need you to do me a favor," Keni answered, looking desperate and hopeful at the same time.

Then Maya started to worry for her best pal. "What kind of favor, K?"

Keni bit her bottom lip before asking, "Can you please spy on Vivien for us?"

"I cannot believe that I'm doing this with you," Dakyung whispered as he and his Guardian wore black shades and matching black clothes.

"Be quiet, D!" Maya scolded as she moved from her hiding spot to the long, green plant on the side of the corridor.

Dakyung softly chuckled at her and thought to himself on how cute Maya looks as they both "stealthily" follow Sungkyung and Vivien.

The two continued on with their spying and then they suddenly lost the two girls.

Dakyung scratched his neck and softly asked Maya, "Where did they-" But he was cut off when he heard Sungkyung's voice from behind him.

"Dakyung-ssi? Maya-ssi?" Lee Sungkyung called out in confusion. "What are you two doing here? Did you guys forget about today's school announcement?"

The two turned around and nervously laughed as they saw the older vampire and the new student looking at them in confusion and curiosity. They both had no idea what their school had even announced since the speakers does not reached their Lounge Room.

Then Dakyung whistled and said, "School announcement? Um, aha... Well-"

"Unnie, we were just looking for you!" Maya cuts him off as she smiled at her best friend's older sister.

Sungkyung gave the two a small, gentle smile and asked, "Looking for me? What for, Maya?"

"Uh, well... You see... It's about Yebin! Ha! Yes, it's about Roh Yebin!"

"Yebin-ssi?" Sungkyung looked at the younger girl in confusion.

Then Maya continued on as Dakyung stared at Vivien, trying to see if she had anything suspicious looking on her. But he didn't find anything.

"We're not that close with Yebin, but it's been almost two weeks since that argument back in the cafeteria. We just wanted to ask you if she's alright."

Sungkyung tilted her head to the side and smiled again. "She's alright. Actually, she came back to the academy yesterday afternoon."

"Oh! She did!" Maya exclaimed as she also check on Vivien, then she looked back at Sungkyung with a smiled, "Well, that's all, unnie! Thank you," and grabbed Dakyung's hand before running off back to the lounge room.

Once the two were far away from where Sungkyung and Vivien are at, they stopped running and took deep breathes in.

"That was so close!" Maya muttered under breath.

Then she looked back at her vampire and blushed when seeing that their hands were still intertwined together.

Dakyung didn't notice it since he was busy wiping the sweats off of his forehead with the hem of his black tee shirt.

Maya faked a cough and pulled her hand away from Dakyung's. That was when the tall boy realized what was happening. He looked away from Maya as he bit the sides of his mouth. Then he looked back at her when she asked him, "So, did you see anything? Like the necklace that  Keni mentioned about?"

Dakyung shook his head with a frown and Maya sighed in disappointment.

Then she added in as they both started to walk back to the lounge room, "Alright... Well, then it looks like Keni will have to follow up with her second plan."

Before entering the Lounge Room...

"So, now what?" Bora asked Keni as they all quietly processed the fact that Yeji is a Kim this whole time.

Keni shook her head and said, "I... I don't know... This is a little too much to take in at the moment. I mean, I feel like Yeji was trying to tell me something this whole time and I didn't understand any of it. From before she died and the night when we had the sleepover. But now after seeing her name under the Kim Family Tree. I just..."

"Hey, don't overwork yourself," Soobin spoke up as he held himself back from giving her a hug or patting her shoulder. "We're all here to help you out."

Keni softly smiled at him and then she looked back at that one page of the royal family tree book. Then she looked at the twins and something clicked in her head. She remembered hearing from Yeji that every family has their own heirloom. But what was the Kim's heirloom?

"Wait... Every Royal Family has an heirloom right?" Keni asked as she looked at the pin on Jaehyuck's school vest.

Soobin, Bora and Haruto all turned their heads to Jaehyuck and saw the golden pin.

"You mean the one that the vampire would give to their guardian?" Jaehyuck asked as he took the pin off and handed it to Bora who handed it to Keni.

Keni took it and stared at the golden butterfly pin and back at the other four. 

Then Soobin spoke up, "There are other heirlooms that the vampires from the Royal Blood would give to their guardians to show that they are protected by those guardians specifically, and usually it would be a pin. But there are heirlooms that vampires would keep, especially if the vampire is a female whose heirloom can be a necklace, bracelet or earrings."

"Noona, why are you suddenly asking about heirlooms?" Haruto asked, tilting his head to the side.

Then Keni gave the pin back to Jaehyuck and answered the young vampire's question. "If Vivien Kang is Rose's older twin then maybe she owns a heirloom for being the eldest child."

"That actually makes sense,"  Jaehyuck joins in, finally understanding what the female guardian is up to. "Only the eldest child of a Royal Blood would carry their family's heirloom, and I think the Kim's family heirloom is with Ruth."

"If we can prove that Vivien is Ruth, then we have a lead to Yeji's death," Soobin exclaimed as everyone looked at him.

"Wait... You think Vivien or Ruth killed Yeji sunbae?" Bora asked, putting all the puzzle pieces together. "So we are not only investigating about the new student's true identity but also looking for Yeji sunbae's murderer?"

Keni bit her bottom lip and said, "Yeji unnie showed up that night at the sleepover. She stood behind Vivien. I saw Rose's older twin's face on Vivien's. There is something not right about the new student and Yeji unnie is telling me something about it. If Vivien is connected to Yeji unnie's death, then I'm going to find out what it is. Yeji unnie doesn't deserve to be remembered as the guardian who died at such a young age."

"She deserves justice," Haruto spoke up, earning a grateful look from his older friend.

"She deserves everything more than what has been given to her," Soobin added as he looked at the golden pin on Jaehyuck's hand, his family heirloom that he gave to Yeji when the two first met years ago. "She deserves more."

"So who is going to check if Vivien's got the family heirloom of the Kim's?" Bora asked as she and Jaehyuck followed Keni down the corridor.

Keni smiled and said, "Someone who I trust with my life."

"And who is that?" Jaehyuck asked after putting the golden butterfly pin back on his school vest.

"The Dynamic Duo," the young guardian answered, making Bora look at her in confusion and earning a groan from Jaehyuck.

"Great... Just great..." He muttered under his breathe, ignoring Bora's question on who this 'Dynamic Duo' is.

"Hyung, I think Keni noona remembers," Haruto spoke up as he returned the old book back in the librarian's bookshelf.

Soobin sighed and looked at his younger friend. "She questioned about our feelings..." He whispered as he sat down on a nearby chair.

"You mean the Soulmate thing?" Haruto asked while walking over to Soobin and sitting beside the older boy. "But you've always liked her... Way before you two even knew that you're Soulmates."

Soobin blushed and was going to tell Haruto to keep it down since someone might hear the younger vampire but he realized that it's just the two of them in the school library.

"Didn't you tell her about that?" Haruto asked as he finished his leftover teriyaki chicken and rice.

"I was about to but-"

"Wait, hyung! You didn't tell her?!"

"I said, I was about to-"

"No! You should have done it when you two first met!"

Soobin raised his eyebrow at Haruto who was giving him a shock and frustrated look on his face.

Then he exclaimed, "'Maybe I shouldn't have cooked you lunch."

Haruto choked on his food and waved his hands in front of him while smiling nervously. "Nevermind, Soobin hyung! Forget my words! Or just pretend that I was not here since the beginning!"

The older vampire shook his head and chuckled. "I'm just playing with you, Ruto," he softly said while patting the younger vampire's shoulder. "'But you're right.  I should have told Keni in the first place."

"You didn't find the Kim's heirloom?" Keni asked after hearing from Maya and Dakyung.

"Sorry, K," Maya apologized with a soft tone. "Maybe I can check her room out?"

Keni sighed while shaking her head. "And have you get caught? No. It's alright. I'll find another way."

Then Dakyung spoke up, "Why not ask Rose about the heirloom and her older twin?"

"Actually, that's not a bad idea," Bora joined in with a hopeful tone. "Maybe Rose can tell us, right?"

Then Maya suggested, "And if she asks us why, then we can just tell her that we're doing a paper about family heirlooms-"

"I've used that excuse too many time already," Keni cuts her off with an embarassed look.

Maya tilted her head in confusion while asking, "Too many times? Since when did you use that excuse- Oh... Right, never mind," and gave Keni a knowing look which made her blush madly.

"Okay, well, if we can't check Vivien's room and ask Rose then what can we do?" Jaehyuck asked with his arms crossed over his chest.

Then suddenly the doors to the Lounge Room opened and in came Keira and Sangmin.

"Y'all there's going to be a fire drill-" Keira's was cut off when the fire alarm went off. "starting right now."

"FIRE! FIRE! THERE'S FIRE IN THE KITCHEN!" A student shouts from outside in the corridor.

"A fire drill?" Bora asked Keira, who just nodded her head.

"If so, why is there smoke coming out from the school's kitchen windows?" Dakyung asked when looking out the windows.

Maya followed Dakyung and asked, "What are you talking-" but stopped in mid-sentence when seeing the drark smoke. "Shit, everyone we have to go. This is not a fire drill!"

Everyon soon left the Lounge Room. But Keni stopped when she sees Yeji's spirit standing by the stairs that would lead up to the Girls' Dormitory. 

"Unnie?" Keni called out in a hushed voice.

Then Yeji pointed up the stairs and disappeared right after that.

Keni looked back at her friends and hesitated from following them. After a short debate in her head, Keni ran to the stairs and up to the dormitory.

Soobin and Haruto found the group running outside of the academy but they didn't see Keni. Haruto gave a worried expression to Soobin who instantly ran to Bora and Jaehyuck.

"Where is Keni?" He asked right away, making Keni's friend look around them in confusion.

Then Bora answered, "Soobin, I swear she was right behind me."

Soobin's heart dropped and ignoring everyone's shouts, he quickly ran back inside the academy and focused on the Soulmate Connection. But he didn't feel anything. He used his speed to look for Keni but she was not in any of the classrooms, cafeteri, inside gym, and library.

Then he saw the Animal Spirit that his best friend adopted.

"Soya? Is that you?" He called out as he hurriedly walked over to the flying cat.

Then it disappeared and appeared on the stairs. It meowed at Soobin and the vampire followed it up to the stairs.

"Do you know where Keni is at?" Soobin asked and it meowed again.

Keni stood outside the door to Vivien's room and was wondering how to get inside since the door is locked.

"Well, there's goes a good plan," She muttered under her breath.

"You can just go through the door in the Spirit Realm," Yeji spoke up from Keni's right side.

The young Guardian jumped in surprise when hearing her late friend's voice. She looked at Yeji and said, "Unnie, please, don't do that again."

Yeji softly laughed and apologized. Then she looked at the locked door and said, "You can channel yourself into the Spirit Realm like last time and go through the door."

"Wait... You mean like how spirits would go through walls?" Keni asked in shock.

"Just like how spirits would do," Yeji replied back.

Then Keni nodded her head and closed her eyes while slowly breathing in. She pictured what the Spirit Realm would look like and felt her insides flipped when the coldness of the other realm touched her skin. Then she opened her eyes and Yeji proudly smiled at her.

"Go on. You can do it," Yeji whispered and so Keni took a step forward and entered the locked room without any failure.

Yeji showed up after and said, "The Kim's Heirloom was a rose-golden lotus pin. But since their eldest child is girl, they made the pin into a pendant for a necklace."

Keni was going to start searching the room but she hesitated and looked back at Yeji.

Then she asked slowly, "Unnie... Did you know that you were a Kim?"

Yeji stayed quiet for a few seconds before nodding her head. "My father was their eldest child. But when he married my mother and had me, his parents, my grandparents disowned him."

"And your mother? She's a Song?"

"No, she wasn't."

"Huh? Then how did you get your last name?"

"I was adopted."
