Gil's past
After deciding, Mal said, "So, we will be showing you our pasts. It will be in this order from least bad to horrible. First will be Gil, then Dizzy, then Harry, then Uma, then Evie, then Jay, then Carlos, and lastly me. Celia and Hadie won't be included because their pasts were good; their experiences were not like ours. Also, we don't want to compare our traumas here. This is just to show you all about our pasts. All of us faced trauma at the hands of our parents—some were worse than others, but trauma can't be compared. We are all survivors, having endured life on that isle," she stated.
Everyone except Hades and Persephone laughed awkwardly and nervously, wondering how bad Mal's past could be. But those two knew it was more than wretched—it was horrible because of the cold-hearted monster who called herself Mal's mother.
Then Evie said, "Mal will use a spell so our memories will be shown to you. So now, first is Gil."
Gil stood up and walked to Mal.
"Ready?" Mal asked.
Gil nodded, a little nervous. Mal cast the spell, and his memories started showing.
Memories
"Gil!" Gaston shouted. A nine-year-old Gil was shown at Pirate's Bay with Uma and Harry. When Gil heard his father's voice, he stopped what he was doing. Gaston walked over to him and slapped him hard. A red mark began forming on his face. Gaston started shouting again. "I told you to bring me food, you rascal!" he bellowed. Gil stood there shaking. Gaston grabbed him by the collar, took him to their house, and started beating him, calling him names. After the beating, he left Gil there, bloody and bruised. Later that day, Uma, Harry, Mal, and Jay found him, helped him to Pirate's Bay, and patched him up with pieces of clothes. Jay gave him some food to eat and some to give to his father.
End of Gil's Memory
Everyone was silent. Belle looked at the screen, horrified. They hadn't known that the Isle kids had it this bad.
Akhiro said, "That was really harsh," in a horror-filled voice, while some smaller children were trembling.
Hades replied bluntly, "You think this is harsh? I've heard and seen Mal and Carlos screaming from five miles away."
Everyone was speechless or horrified. Ben and Jane went towards their respective loved ones and hugged them tightly, letting them know they were there for them.
"It's okay," they both said to Carlos and Mal.
"So, now we will see Dizzy's memories," said Evie, to change the subject.
