I quietly entered my boss's office. I glanced at the clock...right on time. The boss had her back towards me, but I knew that she knew I was here.

"I see you came, just as I asked." she said, "Normally, no one comes."

I quickly fell on one knee. I wasn't going to ignore customs. Not now anyway. The chair turned around so that she was now facing me.

"Rise" she said. I hesitantly stood back up. I avoided her gaze the best I could.

"Do you know why I called you in here?" she asked.

I slowly nodded in response.

"Oh? And why is that? Why did I call you in here?" she asked.

I gulped. "Ummm y-you were going to d-decide m-my fate?" I stuttered.

She raised an eyebrow as she looked me over from head to toe.

"What? No." she said, "I called you in here to give you a second chance."

"What?" I asked, "But-"

"No buts. I'm running out of good crew members these days and I can't afford to lose anymore." she explained, "The last thing we need is a shortage on crew members."

"I see, ma'am." I said.

"Indeed. Now, we must decide what your alternative will be. After all, I can't just let you go free of charge." she said.

"I understand, ma'am." I replied.

"You are to...."
