The End
The boys and I rode in Pete's car to wherever this restaurant was. Ryan and I sat in the back while Pete and Brendon were up front.
"Where are we going?" Brendon asked.
"I thought we could go back to that Mexican restaurant."
"The one by the witchy place?" Asked Brendon.
"Yeah! I thought it was really good, so, why not go back?"
"You got me there!" Ryan rested his arm over my shoulders, instinctively, I flinched.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm just not used to being touched after being left by myself for so long."
"Oh, alright," It went quiet between us for only a moment, "Can I still put my arm around you?" I sent him a toothy smile.
"Of course." His face matched mine as he did so, along with a kiss to my cheek.
"Eww!" Pete said rather loudly as he looked through the rear view mirror.
"Yeah! That's gross, guys!" Brendon turned to us, with a silly smirk. I just stuck my tongue out at him, he did the same back.
"Kids, kids! Settle down, we're here!" Pete said, parking the car. Ryan and I held hands as we walked inside. The whole place was buzzing with people of all sorts as the yummy smells of fresh tortillas and Mexican rice wafted through the little building.
"Wow, I haven't been out in so long!" I told Ryan, eyeing the place.
"Are you nervous? Or anything?"
"No, it just... feels strange. That's all."
"Well good, I'd rather have it be strange then you be uncomfortable." We were then waited to a booth, I sat next to Ryan while the other boys sat across from us. My eyes scanned the place in amazement.
I haven't been out in years! This place is so lively! So happy! The smells, the sounds, the pretty orange walls, the food! The food! Last night was my first meal in what feels like forever...
A family walked through the doors, a little girl held a teddy bear in one hand and her mother's hand in the other. They sat just across from us. She looked at me with wonder, I mirrored her pretty blueberry eyes.
Oh she's adorable! Aww, I forgot how much I liked kids...
"Y/n?"
"Huh? Oh, sorry," My boyfriend nudged me, "What's going on?"
"I was just thinking, I'm not terribly hungry so I was thinking we could split..." I nodded along to what he said, for I had no idea what kind of food he was talking about. But I trusted him.
"Sounds good."
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine, why?"
"You just, seem kinda out of it."
"Well I haven't been out in awhile, I can't help but look around. When I was dead it felt as if my senses were weakened, now I feel as if I've just seen colors for the first time again."
"Woah, what was it like being dead? Did you have powers?" Brendon was now invested. Pete seemed uninterested, but still listened in.
"Well I-"
"Hi, I'm..." The waiter came over and took our order.
"Anyways, it was strange. At first, I didn't even realize I was dead. I remember trying to talk to people, but they could not hear me. That was what made me realize what happened to me. But I was able to walk through walls, turn invisible, and turn on the music box with a flick of my wrist and I, somehow, figured out how to speak to people."
"That's so cool!" Brendon cried.
"It was okay, there was a lot more bad things that came with it than good. Again, my senses were weakened. My emotions were dull, unless I was sad. I spent my whole death crying cause it was the only emotion that wasn't faded." I explained.
"Woah, that's freaky," Brendon said, "Does everyone turn into a ghost when they die?"
"I have no idea, I never tried finding other ghosts." Our food arrived, whatever Ryan had ordered looked delicious. The smell of spices and fresh tortilla chips caused me to smile with joy.
"Wow! This looks amazing," I said to no one in particular, taking a bite my taste buds loved every bit of it, "Dude! This is delicious!" I cried, the boys laughed. A spark of happiness ran throughout my body, one I hadn't felt in years.
"Dude, look at this burrito, it's huge!" Pete cried, holding it up.
"Woah, how did they even do that!?"
"Magic, probably," My boyfriend answered, an adorable smile spread across his face.
"I mean that witchy place is right next door, I bet some leaked into the food or something." Brendon said.
"Witchy place? What witchy place?" I asked.
"You didn't tell her!?" Pete cried to Ryan.
"Tell me what?"
"I tried to tell her! She wouldn't let me!"
"Well, Y/n, cocksnot over here was supposed to inform you that we went to a witchy place. There was a gypsy lady with this crystal ball. She told us that Dallon was gonna come for you. Ryan here was supposed to tell you about it!" Pete explained.
"I tried to! She said she didn't wanna hear about it! She kept interrupting me!"
"Why didn't you say anything!?" I cried.
"You kept interrupting me!" My boyfriend repeated, "I tried telling you all day yesterday! I was about to and then... well... it didn't happen..." He got quiet as his face went pink.
"Oh eww!" Brendon cried, immediately picking up what Ryan was putting down.
"Oh I don't wanna hear about that!" Pete matched Brendons tone.
"Anyways, the point is, I tried to tell you!"
"Whatever, I'm not that mad."
"You're mad at me!?" He cried, now worried, "Oh I'm so sorry!" He hugged onto me.
"Aww, it's okay, it's kinda my fault too." I admitted. We finished eating our food and walked around the strip mall.
"We should probably get you some clothes, y'think?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, probably." I said, adjusting the loose pants I had on.
"We're gonna go check out some of the other shops, you guys go ahead." Brendon told us.
"Alright, we'll meet you guys back at the car when we're done." Ryan told him. We walked into a little shop filled with all sorts of different colorful clothes.
"Wow," I said.
"Is that like, your word of the day? Or something?"
"I dunno, maybe. Why? Does it bother you?" I asked, flipping through some dresses.
"No, I actually think it's quite cute," He said, honestly, "Oh I think you'd look lovely in that dress." He said as I pulled out a pastel yellow dress that went just past my knees.
"Y'think?" I held it up to my body.
"Go try it on, I'll buy it for ya if you'd like." He said.
"Oh, does that make me a leach?" I cringed.
"Yeah, you're a leach." He confirmed.
"I'm only letting you buy this for me cause I don't have a cent to my name." I said, walking into a dressing room.
"That's fair, but even if you did, I'd still buy it for ya."
"Why? So you can be my sugar daddy? Is that what you're going for?"
"Something like that," As I stepped out, his eyes lit up, "Wow, you're stunning."
"Hey, I thought that was my word!" I cried, putting my arms around his neck. He smiled and pressed his lips to mine.
"I'm so happy we're together." His sparkling brown eyes stuck on mine.
"Me too."
"C'mon, lemme buy that for ya, leach." He said, taking my hand.
"Are we just, gonna leave your clothes in the dressing room?" I asked.
"Oh, right, yeah." He said, with slight embarrassment. I grabbed the clothes, then grabbed ahold of his hand. We bought the outfit and walked around for a little longer.
"Where's that witchy place you guys have been talking about?" I asked.
"It's this one." We stopped in front of a small building with blacked out windows and a sign fallen on the ground.
"I wanna go inside."
"Are you sure? It's kinda creepy."
"Yeah, lets go! What, are you a pussy?" I teased.
"No! I've been in there before, come on." He was determined to show how much of a pussy he wasn't.
"Wow! This place is creepy." I whispered, then noticed the white eyed woman sitting at a table, holding a crystal ball, just as they said. The rest of the room held dusty books and items you'd find in Snape's potion room in Hogwarts.
"Ah! You're back!" The woman cried, "Sit sit!" We did as told, Ryan's hand never leaving mine. The woman's fingers touched around the glass ball, but before she said a word, Ryan spoke first.
"So uh, last time we were here, you said someone was gonna die. That didn't happen." Ryan said.
"My powers only allow me to see paths into the future. I tell people the ones most likely to happen, that doesn't mean it's guaranteed," She said, her fingers never leaving the glass surface, "Oh, I see... happiness, for you two. You'll have a long healthy relationship with normal bumps along the way. Oh, children are a possibility."
I looked to Ryan with worry. He sent a reassuring smile, which I mirrored.
"That's basically all I see," She said, "Nothing too significant."
"Thank you," He said, sliding her a ten.
"I think the rest of your party is looking for you."
"Oh, right. Thanks again." We stood outside the building, waiting for the other two boys to emerge from where ever it is they went, when I felt a tug on my dress. I looked down to see the little girl from before, staring up at me with her big eyes.
"Are you a princess?" She asked. I smiled at the little one.
"Why yes I am. Are you a princess?" I asked.
"No, I'm too little." She said.
"What's your name?" I asked, leaning to her level as her family walked up behind her, but slowed when they saw me.
"Ramona," She said.
"Well, Ramona, I'm officially making you, a princess."
"Really!?" She looked at me as excitement filled her eyes, I nodded.
"Yay!"
"I think your royal highnesses are waiting for you." She turned to see her family and ran to them, retelling what had just happened. I stood straight and leaned back against the wall, Ryan gave me a look.
"What?"
"That was so cute! Honey pie, that little girl thinks you're a princess and then you say she's a princess!"
"Yeah, I know, I was there."
"I know it was just, it was really cool." He said as the other half of our party approached us.
"There you guys are! We've been walking around looking for you!" Pete cried, holding a shopping bag that matched Brendon's.
"What did you guys get?" I asked as we piled into the car.
"Yeah what did you get, Brendon? I never actually saw." Pete said, digging for his keys.
"Well, I actually got something for you, Pete." He then pulled out a mug shaped like a dick.
"No way! That's not fair!" Pete cried, pulling out the same exact mug he got for Brendon. Ryan and I laughed in the back seat.
"We know each other way too well." Brendon pouted, looking at the dick mug in his hand.
"Clearly!" Said Pete, starting the car. Ryan had his arm around my shoulders as we talked and laughed with the boys, as if it had always been that way, as if none of the bad stuff had happened, and we were normal. A good normal, one that I wanted to keep around for as long as I could. As a chapter in my life came to a close, a new, well written, joyful chapter has emerged. I'm finally okay... and I will be... for a long while...
