Honey Pie pt2
A loud slam rang through the whole house, causing me to awaken. What the fuck?
Almost immediately afterwards, there was a shriek. Quickly, I ran downstairs to find Y/n, on the floor, blood leaking everywhere from her arms as she sobbed.
"What the hell did you do!?" She cried.
"I didn't do anything! Come here, I'll... I'll clean you up, it'll be okay." I mostly said to calm myself down too. I took her hand, helping her up, and walking her up the stairs to the bathroom. She sat on the toilet seat as I sat at the edge of the bathtub. As I helped her, something felt off. There was no chill when I touched her. My eyes curiously looked at her face.
"What are you looking at?"
"Your skin, it's not grey anymore. Your eyes have color too," She looked at me strangely, "You're breathing! Oh honey pie, I think you're alive!" I cheered.
"What!? How can this be!? Ryan, what the fuck did you do to me!?"
"I didn't do anything to you! I promise." I held her hand in mine, her arms were now wrapped in bandages.
"Then how did this happen?" She asked, I thought back to the man I saw yesterday. I should tell her about that...
"I never thought this would actually happen. I'm alive." She said, really realizing the situation.
"Is that a good thing?"
"I think so." She smiled.
"Is there anything you need? I mean, I've never seen anyone come back to life so, do you need food? Or something?" I asked.
"As of right now, I don't think so," She got up and looked at herself in the mirror, "Woah, this is freaky."
"What?" I stood beside her.
"My hair, it's... it's damp," She held a lock of hair in front of her eyes, "It still smells like bubble bath, I still smell like bubble bath. What the fuck?"
"Weird," I began to think, "It's like your body was frozen in time or something."
"You think so?" She asked, playing with her hair, "Whatever it is, it's very strange."
"Honey pie, I really need to tell you something, I-" As I began, I was almost immediately interrupted by an intrusive little kitten meowing outside the open door.
"Aww, Birthday!" Y/n walked towards the kitten, to pick her up. Birthday dodged her and ran to the bedroom, Y/n followed, I did as well. Birthday jumped onto the bed, laying comfortably while Y/n sat next to her head stroking the orange cat. I joined them, sitting at the head of the bed with my back against the wall.
"Awww!" Birthday yawned and slowly wagged her tail. My phone buzzed so I picked it up, there was a text from Pete.
Pete: Has anything happened!?
Pete:Like the witch person said?
Me: Yeah something happened, I'll tell you later
Pete: don't keep me waiting! I must know!
Me: I'll tell you later! It'll be a lot easier to tell you irl
Pete: Fine >:(
I looked up from my phone just as Y/n flicked her hand at something. A frustrated look came across her face as she tried again, and then again.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get the music box to work!"
"You're gonna have to get up and do it."
"No but I-" She looked back at her patched up arm and remembered that she no longer had her ghost powers.
"Don't worry, I got it," I got up and put on the Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles. The music played quietly through the bedroom, "I'll be right back."
I ran downstairs into the kitchen to get us some food, nothing too special, just a plate of crackers. When I got to the bedroom, she sat in the same spot humming along to the tune of the music, happily. I sat in the same spot I was in before, leaving the plate between us.
"I figured you'd probably be hungry since you're alive n' all." I said, unsure of myself.
"Oh, thank you." She took one and looked at it for a moment, "Let's see if I remember how to do this." She giggled. She ate the little cracker with ease, almost as if she had never been dead at all.
"Looks like you still got it." I chuckled.
"Yeah," We joked and chatted for a long while as rain drops began tapping against the roof and windows. She sat on her knees looking out the little window just above the end of my bed.
"Hey Ryan," She puts her hand to the glass, "What's it like outside?"
"Well," I began, sitting next to her, "It appears to be raining."
"Duh! I know that!" She began to play with her hair, a nervous habit I had began to notice more and more, "I haven't really been outside in a long time. Could we go out there?"
"I dunno," thoughts of what had happened yesterday came back, "It's raining! We probably shouldn't. It's also not very safe out there, it's safer in here. It's warm in here, not cold or wet." She playfully pushed me.
"You're kidding, right?" She asked, "Rain is the best! We're going!"
"I don't thin-" Her finger covered my lips, instantly, my cheeks heated up.
"Shh! I don't wanna hear anymore lame excuses, c'mon!" She grabbed my hand, and led me off the bed.
"Fine, I'm gonna grab a coat and umbrella though. Do you want a coat?" She shook her head.
"You're weak if you need a coat."
"Whatever, I'm gonna be totally dry when we get back inside and you'll be soaked," I buttoned up my jacket, "So therefore, I am better." She rolled her eyes as we walked out. I opened up the umbrella and held it over our heads. She took my hand and led me into the little yard in front of the house.
"Put down the umbrella."
"Why?"
"I wanna do something!"
"I'm not putting it down!"
"Do you wanna dance with me or not!?" An embarrassed smile appeared on my face.
"Well... well of course I'd like to dance with you." I put down the umbrella and took her hand in mine. We swayed back and forth to the sounds of the beating rain. I hummed a little tune as the rain drenched our hair and the day became night.
"You're a good singer."
"Aww thanks." We danced for a little longer until something caught my eye. Immediately, I stopped moving, anxiety filled my body. Heavy breathing and sweaty hands came along with it. The silhouette of a tall man stood across the street.
"What? Ryan, are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, yeah, we should go back inside." I said.
"Why? It's so fun out here."
"Y/n, there's something I need to tell you, but we need to go inside right now." I said, sternly.
"Okay..." We made it inside, just as I had thought, she was completely drenched, "I guess you were right." She giggled and the things from yesterday completely left my mind.
"I'm getting hungry so I'm assuming you are too, do you wanna take a shower? I can get some food ready."
"I'd like to, but, these are the only clothes I have."
"You can wear mine, if you'd like. I don't mind, you can just pick something out from my closet."
"Okay," She began going up the stairs when I said one last thing.
"Oh! Y/n! I almost forgot, I accidentally bought strawberry shampoo at the store one time and if you wanna use that instead of what I have, you can. But, you don't have to! If you wanna use my stuff, that's fine too."
"Okay, thanks dewdrop!" Aww...
Before starting, I pulled on an apron and a medium skillet pan, white rice, chicken breast, two eggs, and an onion. I cooked the rice in a separate pan and diced the onion while it cooked.
Once done, I chopped up the chicken into little pieces. I moved the rice into the medium pan and cracked the eggs, putting them into the smaller pan from before. Once those were done cooking, I chopped up the eggs and mixed all the ingredients into the skillet just as Y/n walked through the kitchen door, but I hadn't noticed, until she spoke.
"You cook!?" I jumped a little.
"Oh, uh, yeah, a little."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," She walked over, observing what was in each pot. Casually, I rested my arm around her waist, "What are you making?"
"Well it depends on who you ask. To me, it's fried rice. If you ask Pete, well then it's rice with extra bits." I chuckled, adding a dash of soy sauce to the mixture.
"It smells amazing," I kissed the top of her head, which smelled like strawberry shampoo, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"No, it's pretty much done." I said, dishing out the meal into two bowls. We brought our food to the little dinning table. She looks so cute in my clothes...
"What are you staring at?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, you just look really cute." She smiled sheepishly and covered her embarrassed face with my loose fitting sleeves, "Awww..."
"Stop..." I chuckled and took a bite of food. She did as well, immediately, her eyes lit up, "Holy shit, Ryan! This is amazing! Why don't you cook more often!?"
"What do you mean? I've cooked many times here."
"You have!?"
"Yeah, have you never noticed?"
"I guess not. I have noticed my senses have been a lot stronger, since I've come back."
"Hmmm..." We talked and ate for a few more minutes, when the thoughts of yesterday came back, once again, "Honey pie, I really have to tell you something. I have to tell you before I forget again."
"Okay, what's up?"
"So, y'know how you told me not to look you up n' stuff?"
"Yeah..." She answered, already knowing what was coming next.
"Well, a few weeks ago, I went to Pete's house and we kind of, did. But, we didn't look you up! We looked up things kind of related to you? I guess?" I said, terrified of what was to come next, but she only sighed and stared down into the almost empty bowl, "But, that's not really what I need to tell you about, we found something out. It's about-" she interrupted me.
"I don't want to get mad at you. Not right now. I don't want to talk about this, either. Dude, I spent every second of my death sulking over my death and waiting around for a guy who was clearly done with me. I don't wanna think about that stuff anymore. I wanna think about stuff happening now, like you." She rested her hand over top of mine.
"But it's-"
"Ah! No!"
"But-"
"No! Shh!" She got up and put her bowl in the sink, I did the same.
"But it's-" Before I could say more, she had pressed her lips against mine; then pulled away. I was left standing, awestruck.
"Stop talking about that," She sighed, and smiled, "I've been wanting to kiss you all day. It's a lot better when you're alive," She giggled and began to walk away, I grabbed her wrist and spun her around to face me. I pulled her close and kissed her passionately. She pulled away and stared at me, "Woah..."
"I really really like you." Those words came out of my mouth with no intention of actually being said, just like the next kiss I pulled her into, but I loved every second of it. She pulled away, eyes staring into mine.
"Maybe we should... um... we should go into the bedroom." I nodded, entranced by the look she gave me.
"Yeah... yeah we should... should do that." Without hesitation, I picked her up. I held her bridal style, our lips met once more before I carried my honey pie into the bedroom. Gently, I laid her down on the bed. I jumped on top of her, kissing her face and neck.
"Dew drop? Baby?" She whispered, "I don't wanna do that tonight."
"Okay, we don't have to," I whispered back, kissing her jaw line. After a few minutes of this, she mumbled something I couldn't hear, "What was that?"
"I changed my mind. I want to." She whispered.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I... I haven't done this in awhile so I'm kind of... nervous."
"That's alright, we can go slow, and if I do something you don't wanna do just tell me and I'll stop. Okay?" She nodded. A little over twenty minutes passed when I found myself laying sideways with Y/n in my arms, her back to me. She wore my shirt and her panties while I only wore my boxer shorts.
The cracked open door swung a little as a small orange cat walked through, taking her spot at the end of the bed, and falling asleep. The room was fairly quiet when I decided to speak up, still unsure if I was dreaming.
"I know you said not to say it. Um... this might be a stupid thing to say, but... I love you..." She didn't answer, but I knew she was awake for her breathing wasn't sleepy, "That was stupid, right? Never mind. Forget I-"
"I love you too," She whispered, barely audible, "I'm sorry for being such a bitch to you," She turned her body so she lay on her back, and was looking up at me, "You don't deserve that."
"You weren't that bad. I didn't mind."
"God, Ryan! See, you're so nice! I just feel worse. How dare you be nice to me." She giggled.
"Do you want me to be mean to you?"
"Yeah, say something mean." I thought for a moment.
"Shit, I got nothing."
"You're such a nice guy, I don't deserve you." She reached up and played with my hair.
"I'm sorry I looked you up when you told me not to."
"Can we just, forget about all that? Just pretend that my old life never happened? Please?" She asked.
"I dunno, I think something bad is gonna happen tomorrow."
"Let's not think about that either then. I just wanna be with you right now." She yawned.
"Aww," I laid on top of her, wrapping my arms around her, while showering her face with sweet kisses. She gently played with my hair, both of us waiting for sleep to take over.
"I forgot how you need to wait for sleep." She yawned, "I used to just, be able to." She giggled, and yawned once more.
"It shouldn't be to hard. You already seem pretty tired." I yawned as well, sleep took over, not long after.
