Ian's POV.

       Genevive and I got in my car to go back home. I felt so much happy. I had always been so scared to confess my love to Gen. But now things were falling into place and I hope the other side works out quick too.

I glanced at Gen and found her looking outside with a soft smile playing on her lips. I cleared my throat to get her attention. She raised an eyebrow at me with a smile. Damn! That smile!  I simply gave her a shrug while grinning like an idiot.
  Genevive has always been special to me. But I was always scared if I'd get rejected. And when that Melissa woman came to me, It took me a lot to say she was nothing more than a friend. In reality she was way more than a friend to me.

Asa and Kamri had always shipped us but I was always afraid to confess to Gen. But that day when I saw her in tears, I knew I had to man up and tell her what I truly felt. And though she accepted me real quick, my heart was all on fire. I was nervous as hell! IAN CARTER was nervous! God! I was so whipped!

'Ian?'

'Yeah? '

'What are you thinking about?'

'You.' - I blurted out and she blushed. Man! I'm loving my affect on her!  Deciding to tease her further, I slightly turned my head while smirking to myself.

'Gen?'

'Hmm?'

'Do you have a band-aid?'

'What for?' - she looked genuinely confused.

'Because I scraped my knees falling for you!'

She slapped her forehead with a smile. That smile that always took my breath away!

'You know what? You are a thief Gen!'

'Ian! I swear if this is another pickup line - '

'Jeez! Hear me out!'

'OK! why am I a thief?'

'Because you stole my heart babe!'

'You're impossible!' - she laughed while shaking her head and I too smiled.

'We're here!'

I looked at Gen as she was about to get off the car. We had reached her home.

'Thank you for today Ian! I really loved it!' - she smiled with twinkling eyes. God! I could just drown in those orbs!

'I'll see you soon! I love you Genevive Alora Owens.'

'And I guess I love you too Ian Lee Carter. Wasn't that your middle name?' - she asked sheepishly.

She looked adorable. Get a grip on yourself, you idiot!  My subconscious self reminded me.

'Yeah it is!' - I chuckled.

'Drive safely. I gotta go in now.'

I smiled at her with a nod. After making sure she got inside, I drove away, all the while trying hard to concentrate on the road and not let my thoughts wander around Gen.

I was almost nearing my house when my phone rang. And of course it was none other than my cocky, idiot best friend.

'Hey Hey Dankyboy!' - I grinned though he couldn't see me.

'What's up? ' - he asked a little grumpily.

'The sky with a few clouds and the moon and some stars too.' - I joked.

'I'm hanging up.'

'No no! You okay?'

'Yeah! ' - he replied blankly. Ok now he definitely wasn't okay.

'You know you can tell me anything.'

'Ian!  I think I - '

'Wait! You think you love Kamri right? I knew it! You see now Asa? All these while I was damn sure! Congratulations! I am so over the moon! I gotta tell Gen already! And we could go for double dates!'

'Stop!' - Asa yelled through the phone that I had to take my phone away from my ears for a few seconds.

'What?' - I feigned innocence.

'I didn't even complete my sentence and you are all cooing like those over dramatic girls! Eww!'

'Hey! I thought you were going to say that! ' - I let out a laugh.

'Please don't spoil my mood further by taking that witch's name.' - he sighed dramatically and I chuckled.

'So?'

'I think I want you to do me an urgent favour.'

'What's it? '

'You're back from your date right?'

'Yeah!'

'Ok now listen carefully. You gotta stop at any normal store and buy those peanut butter cups and come to my home and give me those. One packet is enough.'

'And why can't you buy it for yourself mister?'

'Because my parents left for shopping after locking me in.'

'Oh my!! Why on earth is that so Dankyboy?' - I was laughing hysterically now.

'Stop with that awful name of yours. And yeah you know that neighbour of mine? That ten year old brat? Today as I came back from school, when I got out of my car that spoiled kid threw his toy car at me and it hit my head. So I threw it in the trash can. So that guy went complaining to my dad and my parents thought they'd lock me up in for tonight.' - he groaned.

'Really Asa? What are you? Seven?'

'Shut up and do as I said. I will leave my living room window open. You can throw the pack through it.'

'Fine!' - I laughed again shaking my head at my so called best friend's stupidness.

     I was driving back from Asa's house when I stopped my car at a random park. I just wanted to sit back for sometime. I walked towards an empty bench. Since it wasn't that late, there were people around. I was looking here and there when something caught my eyes. Someone to be more precise.

A little away from me was Hudson and his Dad. I saw Delano handing him a piece of paper and they said something afterwards and both of them left. I was a little suspicious. It might be his electric bill or something.
    
I reached home and quickly dialled Elijah's number. I had to tell him what I saw. He picked up after two rings.

'Hello Ian! I was just about to call you.'

'Sir, everything okay?'

'Well, someone is informing Delano about our plans and moves.'

I froze.

'Y- you m-mean th-there's a tr-traitor? '

'Yes Ian. Luckily Delano hasn't found out that your mom and Mr. Owens is still alive. He just knows that we are plotting against him and might expose him soon. But he will know the other things real quick and we can't let that happen. Becuase then all of us would be dead meat and he would just carry on with his dirty business. And yeah, his traitor must be a really good one.'

'How did you find out?'

'I overheard him talking to this traitor.'

And then I immediately told him what I saw.

'We can't point fingers at anyone so soon. We just gotta put our plans into action real fast or our lives are going to be in danger. Now let's hang up Ian. We'll meet soon!'

'Ok sir! Goodnight.'

'Yeah! Stay safe y'all.'

Genevive's POV.

'Stop!' - Ian yelled as Kam and I turned. It was the next day and school was just about to begin. We were heading to our first class when Ian and Asa came to us.

'Hey Kam! And hello Gen!' - Ian gave me his charming smile.

'Hello both of you! ' - I greeted them back and gave an extra smile to Ian. Asa grinned at me and Kam smiled at Ian. And yes! Don't ask! Kam and Asa didn't greet each other.

'I gotta tell y'all something.' - Ian began and told us about what he saw and what Elijah told him. We were worried sick! Now there was a traitor too? As if all the other drama wasn't enough!

'Like Elijah said we can't point fingers yet.'

'Yeah! We'll see if Hudson says anything at lunch today.'

We all nodded and left for our classes. All the while my mind was puzzled. I had this feeling that something bad was going to happen.

'Hey y'all! ' - a very cheerful looking Hudson greeted us as he took a seat beside Asa.

We greeted him back.

'Asa, why the long face? ' - Hudson asked playfully.

'Because a stupid witch poured ketchup into my juice.'

'You deserved it for eating my fries.'

'I just took one single yellow coloured fry and you ruin my entire juice! Who taught you balancing? ' - Asa asked with sarcasm.

Kam just scoffed at him and mouthed a shut up.

Hudson was watching all these with an amused smile.

'Ok now jokes apart. I met my dad yesterday!' - he said and we all went stiff.

'And? ' - Asa asked in his intimidating tone.

'Woah! Easy there! He gave me the electric bill actually and yeah he asked if Gen and Ian were my friends.'

'Then?' - Kam whispered meekly. If there was one thing that could terrify Kam to the greatest extent, then that was Delano Miller.

'I just told we were school mates and nothing more. He left afterwards.'

'Oh.'

We sighed.

'Finally back home!' - I shouted to myself in glee as I parked my car in the garage of my house. School was done for today and we had all gone to our respective homes rather than gathering together. I couldn't just wait to crash on my couch and watch Netflix.

I locked my car and went to unlock my door. But a small note was pasted on the upper part of my door. I looked at it in confusion and took it off. My eyes widened in fear as I read it and I felt dizzy. For the first time in my life, I was so scared to go into my own house!
