Genevive's POV.

     Oh no! Kam just walked out! She must have gotten hurt. I knew she liked Asa. But what am I gonna do now? Go with her you idiot. My subconscious reminded me. I quickly walked to Ian. I had to inform him before going.

'Ian, I am going. '

'Why?  What happened Gen?  Are you okay?'

'Yeah yeah I am fine. But Kam is not. I will tell you everything else soon. Now I have to go. And also convey my congratulations to Asa. ' - I said and ran out. I had to find Kam before she leaves. Luckily I saw Kam just about to drive away. I ran in the speed of light and opened the passenger door of her car. I sat in.

'Now,  let's go!' - I mumbled.

'Gen, you didn't really had to come. I was going to go to your house anyway. And you could have come with Ian later. '

'Kam, I am not that bad of a best friend. ' - I said and Kam chuckled a little.

'Kam, now jokes apart, are you alright? '

'Hmm.'

'Kam,  we have known each other since forever. I know too well when you're lying. '

'God!  Gen you are getting too sentimental.' - Kam giggled.

'I am here for you Kammie! Tell me what it is that's bothering you. '

'The problem is,  I don't like Asa I swear. But I don't even know why I felt the urge to leave the room as soon as I heard Asa and Aida won. Heck, I don't even know why I care. '

'Kam, you do like him. '

'I don't Gen. I swear I don't. I don't feel like anything when he's near me. It's just that, I couldn't  tolerate to see Aida and Asa together. Becuase I know, in the end, Asa is gonna get hurt.'

'Don't worry Kam. Asa is not that dumb. But you still like him. ' - I winked.

'GENEVIVE OWENS!  I DON'T LIKE ASA DANKWORTH!  I HATE HIM GEN ! I HATE HIM!  I HATE HIM WITH PASSION. AND WHY WOULD I LIKE A GUY WHO DOESN'T EVEN BELIEVE IN LOVE?? ' - Kam yelled and I had to close my ears with my palms.

'Woah Woah!  Easy there tigress! '

'Never even dream of saying that I am in love with anybody!  I don't like the LOVE thing. ' - Kamri growled emphasising on the word love. I nodded with a laugh.

'Gen! I need my toothbrush! ' - Kamri shouted from my bathroom. She was getting ready for bed. I dug into her bag and took her toothbrush. After I gave it to her, I went downstairs to ensure if all the doors were locked. I sighed when I walked past my mom's room. She has been so busy with her work lately that it's been days since I saw her. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. I went back to my room to find Kamri sprawled over my bed.

'Madam! I too need the bed! ' I stated.

'As if I didn't know that!' she retorted back.

'Looks like your mood is still off!'

'Leave it Gen!  Now you tell me,  how was things with you and Ian? ' she asked me with a wink.

'It was great! I really had a nice time. '

'Yeah yeah I know!'

'So what about Aiden? '

'Aiden? He's great! '

'Just great? '

'Gen!! For the umpteenth time, I don't like the concept of love.'

'And why is that so?'

'I don't know! Now let's talk about something else. '

'Yeah!  So tell me something. '

'Tell you what? '

'Something.'

'What something?'

'Ughh anything Kamri!'

'You know what!'

'Yeah? '

'I think we should sleep. '

'Idea of the Decade.' We both laughed and laid down. We talked for sometime and finally dozed off.

     Something very heavy landed on my legs and I winced in sleep. I somehow opened my eyes and turned to my right. I was greeted with the sight of Kamri's foot. Wow!  What a nice way to start a day. I sat up straight and found out the heavy thing was Kam's head. She had somehow managed to  lay upside down during her sleep. I shook my head and got up. I checked the time and it showed 9: 45 am. I was early. Nevertheless I went to the bathroom and freshened up. I changed my PJ's and wore a casual white jeans with a black tunic top. I put my hair into a pony tail and got ready for my work. I walked to my workplace and shook Kamri's shoulders. Yes, people! Waking up my best friend is the work and don't  y'all dare think it's easy. She is such a heavy sleeper!

'Kamriiiiiiii!' - I shouted. Yet to no avail. Sighing, I grabbed a bottle of water and dumped it on her. She bolted up and looked up at me. Before she could process anything, I ran to the kitchen to start preparing breakfast. I made two veggie bagel sandwiches and some mixed berry smoothie. I also took some clementines and mangosteens. Finally,  after I was done setting the table and cleaning up the kitchen, I mustered up the courage to check up on my best friend. I walked to my room upstairs and found the room all clean. I was a bit taken aback. But before I could comment on it, I felt water landing on my face.

'Serves you right! ' - Kam laughed and went downstairs. I shook my head and joined her for food.

'Gen, I think we should call Ian and Asa over to discuss more about what Hudson said. '

'About Bardot Industries being owned by my dad back then? '

'Ahuh. '

'Yeah, I'll  call them over for today evening. '

'Till then, let's -'

'Clean up and then watch something. '

'Yeah!  Harry Po-'

'NO! NO! NO! '

'Whyyy?' - Kam whined.

'Because we will watch something else. '

'You are crazy! '

        The doorbell rang, indicating the arrival of Ian and Asa. I opened the door for them and they got in. Both of them smiled at me.
Asa walked towards the kitchen and started rummaging through the shelves.

'What snack have we got Gen? ' - he shouted.

'Just check! ' - I shouted back. Soon Asa came with packets of chips and so many other junk. Ian, Kam and I were in my living room.

'Oh hey disaster! ' - Asa greeted Kamri.

'Hi! '- Kam replied dryly.

'Wait.... Are you alright? ' Ian asked Kamri. Asa too had an amused face. I eyed Kamri worriedly.

'I am fine Ian. Thanks for asking. ' - Kamri smiled tightly.

'So formal huh!' - Asa remarked. Kamri just glared at him and didn't say anything. OK! This is honestly not like the Kamri I know.

'Congrats on your victory Asa! ' - I smiled at Asa.

'Aww thank you Gen!'

'Hey! You didn't congratulate me! ' - Asa said to Kamri.

'Asa! For God's sake can you stop bothering me? Like what the hell is wrong with you? And what is it that you want to hear from me? A congrats? Then here you go; CONGRATULATIONS!! Now is that fine Winter King? ' - Kamri snapped. Asa looked so taken aback. I rubbed Kam's back and asked her to calm down. She looked at me with guilt. I guess she didn't wanted to burst out like that.

'So guys, I called you both here to dig a little deeper into the topic that Hudson said. ' - I said and the trio nodded.

'So, Delano cheated your dad!' - Asa sighed.

'Yes! And that too because of greed! '

'Delano is a man of mystery. '

'So is Elijah! '

'We need to unfold everything soon. Ian and I will leave for college next year and I really want to sort things before we leave. ' - Asa said eyeing his best friend.

'Why do I feel like we are nowhere near solving the mystery?' - Ian asked.

'Umm, so far we know Elijah is hiding something from us and that something is related to my dad and Ian's mom. Also we know that Oliver Johns who met with an accident with Lucas Miller was killed by Delano in order for him to take revenge. Plus, Delano forces the employees of Bardot Industries to deal with drugs and not to forget he cheated my dad to get the company. ' - I said and sighed.

'Yeah! Elijah is hiding something and I have a strong feeling it is something really important.' - Kamri finally opened her mouth.

'Yeah! It's been four years and still he isn't ready to reveal the secrets. '

Ting. We all turned to Ian. He took his mobile and looked at us.

'It's a text from Elijah.' - He said.

'Check it!' - Asa said.

'It says; I know you guys are confused. My pendrive.'  - Ian stopped reading. We raised our eyebrows at him.

'Dickhead! What did he say? ' - Asa was getting impatient.

'I don't know! He just deleted it!'
