Chapter Four
The Cullens
Alice

I woke up around nine the next morning, my jaw sore and bruised from the previous night, my lip less swollen but still blood colored and painful, I quickly covered the worst of the bruising with makeup.

I put on a green sweater, a black skirt, black tights, and green high heels after doing my makeup and hair. As I was brushing my teeth after eating breakfast, I was suddenly pulled into a vision.

I was in a white dress, smiling at myself in the reflection of the vanity's mirror, as a door opened behind me and Cynthia came bounding into the room.

"You look so pretty Alice." She smiled brightly at me.

"You look absolutely beautiful." I smiled back at her, admiring her white flower girl dress.

"Rosie sent me to come get you, she said that it's time for the wedding to start." Cynthia hugged me tightly and took my hand, pulling me with her through the dressing room and out to the church excitedly.

"You look gorgeous Alice." Carlisle smiled happily at me and kissed my cheek.

"Thank you." I blushed, suddenly feeling nervous.

"Don't worry sweetheart, this was meant to be." He took my arm and led me to the doors of the church where my father was waiting with an angry scowl on his face.

"Doesn't Alice look lovely Mark?" Carlisle asked my father, using one of his rare stern tones.

"Sure, this will be over by three right? Jessica and I have a meeting to get to." My father grumbled.

"Yes, it will be over by three." I muttered and grabbed his arm as the wedding march started and Cynthia went inside to throw her flowers.

I took a deep breath before Carlisle and Emmett opened the church doors and Mark and I stepped inside.

Suddenly, the whole scenery changed.

I was now standing alone, a crowd of faceless people watching me from the church pews, black flowers and accents decorated the entire chapel.

As I moved down the aisle, the wedding march started to be played very slowly. It was distorted and changed into an eery key that echoed hauntingly throughout the church, sending my heart beat into a panic.

As I reached the end of the aisle the march stopped all together, and I wondered where Edward was. Someone tapped me on my shoulder and I turned around to find Edward looking down at me, a pained expression on his beautiful face.

I was even more confused as he pointed for me to look down. I glanced down and was absolutely terrified.

I was no longer in a wedding dress, I was in a straight jacket, arms free from the restraints. But that's not what surprised me, what shocked me the most was that my wrist were slit and blood was pouring from my veins, staining my white straight jacket and pooling at mine and Edward feet.

"Alice, why did you do this to me?!" He cried as he stepped past me and sunk to his knees in front of the casket now sitting at the front of the church.

I screamed as I came out of my vision. Terror and panic flooding through me as I made sure my wrist weren't actually bleeding and that I wasn't actually dead.

Where did that come from? I didn't make any choice to cut my wrist, or at least I haven't yet, I shouldn't have had that vision.

I heard a knock sound downstairs and quickly spit my toothpaste out and rinsed my mouth before rushing downstairs and opening the door.

"Edward! Hi!" I smiled up at him.

"Hello Alice, are you alright? You seem a little shaken." Edward asked concerned. "Is your lip busted?" He gently took my face in his cold hands and looked more closely at my lip.

"Oh, um yeah, I had a little accident yesterday, nothing to worry about." I giggled. "Where are we going today?" I chirped and he dropped his hands, still not completely convinced of my safety.

"I thought that you would like to meet my family today, officially speaking." Edward chuckled.

"Today?" I questioned. "Huh, okay today's fine." I nodded following him out to his Volvo.

"Did you have something else in mind?" He asked nervously.

"No! I just thought I would be meeting them tomorrow." I shrugged, and thanked him as he opened the passenger door for me.

"Why did you think that?" He asked.

"Because I thought I was going to meet them before I had to go pick up my sister from her friends house tomorrow. Oh well, I probably just miscalculated something." I giggled and he gave me one of his 'are you sure you're mentally sound?' questioning looks.

We made it to his house quickly, thanks to his insanely fast driving, and as he opened the car door for me and helped me down onto my feet, I admired his house.

I live in a large two story townhouse closer into Olympia, it's old with a lot of charm and elegance, but my house was nothing compared to Edwards.

The house was like something out a dream, stuck in the middle of a small forest and made out of gray stone, it resembled a towering castle with three floors and a perfect layout, I almost expected a princess to be locked away inside of it.

"Nervous?" Edward chuckled.

"Not even a little!" I cried playfully.

"Come on." He laughed, placing his hand on my back and walking with me up to the front steps.

He opened the door for me and there, standing boldly on the steps of the grand staircase, was Doctor Carlisle Cullen.

His brief flash of shock did not go unnoticed by me even in the slightest.

"It's my height." I groaned playfully. "Isn't it?" I giggled.

"No dear! It's just um...I wasn't expecting.." Carlisle took a breath. "You're just tinier then Edward described. I was caught off guard. Sorry." Carlisle offered me a smile smile.

"It's fine, I'm used to it." I giggled and he and Edward laughed along with me.

I couldn't deny the shock that crossed Carlisle's face as he watched me however, he just seems so taken aback by me.

"Alice, this is my father Carlisle." Edward introduced us. "I'm sure you already knew that though." He chuckled and I giggled in return.

"Yes, I knew." I giggled and we both laughed together, earning a cautious look from Carlisle.

"Edward tells us that you're very intuitive." Carlisle smiled at our interaction.

"It's a quirk." I giggled and Carlisle and Edward echoed me.

"Rosalie? Emmett? Come say hello to Alice." Carlisle spoke softly, not bothering to raise his voice.

Emmett cheered and hollered as he rushed downstairs, his steps thundering and vibrating the entire house, he jumped the last few steps and landed directly in front of me.

His 6'5 hulk-like body towered over my tiny 4'10 frame and he smiled widely down at me, very amused by my height.

"Hi Alice!" He exclaimed, his voice booming and ricocheting off of every surface.

"Hello Emmett." I giggled and extended my hand. "It's very nice to meet you."

He looked at my hand questioningly for a moment.

"Emmett, no, don't-"

Emmett suddenly picked me up and swung me around, ignoring Edwards refusal, laughing as he played with me like I was little rag doll and I couldn't help but laugh and squeal.

"See, you're a good sport. Edward hardly ever lets loose. It's going to be fun having a human around!" Emmett chuckled as he set me back on the ground.

"Are you alright?" Edward worried over me.

"Emmett may seem like a grizzly bear but he's a kitten when it comes to dealing with me." I reassured him softly.

"Oh yeah?" Emmett challenged me. "So sure?" He rushed at me then, and of course having already had a vision of these events, I stepped to my left, causing Emmett to barrel past me.

"Wow, how'd you do that?" Emmett asked seriously, amazed by my ability to doge him.

"Alice, that was incredible! How did you know to do that?" Carlisle asked, he and Edward just as amazed by me as Emmett.

"Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to finally tell you all my little secret." I giggled and Carlisle led us all into the living room.

Edward took my hand and pulled me with him over to the couch, excited to finally learn how I knew so much about him and his family.

"Ever since I was a little girl, I've seen...pictures." I admitted softly.

"Pictures?" Carlisle questioned me.

"Well, more like visions, some are flashes of pictures and then others are full events." I explained.

"And these, visions, are how you know so much about all of us?" Carlisle questioned, concern clear in his eyes.

"Yes, I believe that I see future events." I nodded.

"So...you're a psychic?" Emmett asked calmly.

"I guess you could call it that." I shrugged, my nerves suddenly eating me alive.

"That. Is. So. Cool!" Emmett exclaimed, jumping onto his feet. "You've got to tell me something about the future!"

"Well, in your immediate future you're going to have a very mad wife snap at you very soon." I giggled at his confused expression.

"Emmett!" Rosalie screamed from the top of the stairs. "What did I tell you about interacting with the human?!" She hissed as she entered the living room.

"Aww, come on babe, the girl's a psychic!" Emmett cheered.

"I don't care what the crazy little girl thinks she is, she is a danger to this family and I will not have you associating with her!" Rosalie stomped her foot and I was pulled into a vision.

"Don't call her crazy!" Edward barked at Rosalie harshly, fed up with her hatred towards me.

Rosalie glared angrily at him right before she snapped and lunged towards him.

"What did you call Alice?" Edward asked madly, standing to his feet.

"Edward don't-"

"I called her a crazy little girl." Rosalie spoke arrogantly, outdoing Jessica on her best day.

"Don't call her crazy!" Edward barked.

Rosalie regarded him with an angry hate-filled glare before she rushed towards him. At the last minuet, I jumped up and wrapped my arms around Rosalies neck, twisting her to the side roughly and sending her into the floor. I jumped back and landed delicately onto my feet in the middle of the living room.

Rosalie leapt up onto her feet, she and Edward immediately started growling and hissing at each other.

"Stop it!" I commanded them and both Rosalie and Edward became silent. "Rosalie, go back upstairs and stay in your room."

"You can't tell me what to do." She sneered.

"Go to your room!" I yelled, pointing for her to go upstairs, giving her my best dangerous glare.

She huffed and marched upstairs.

"This better be the first and the last fight between you and your siblings that I break up or we are going to have some serious issues, understand?" I pointed right in Edwards face.

"Yes ma'am." He nodded, looking slightly scared of me.

"Good." I sighed, taking my seat back on the couch.

"Alice, you could have gotten yourself seriously injured!" Carlisle cried.

"I'm okay, I calculated it correctly. I knew I could throw her off her feet if I waited until she wouldn't be expecting anyone to stop her from hurting Edward." I explained.

"Alice, you truly are remarkable!" Carlisle laughed happily and I giggled along.

My phone suddenly started ringing and I looked down at it confusingly.

"Hello?" I answered it.

"Alice? This is Mrs. Deen, I'm afraid Annie caught a stomach bug and passed it on to Cynthia, is there any chance you can come get her? Now?" Mrs. Deens frantic voice asked over the phone.

"Of course Mrs. Deen, I'll be there in fifteen minutes." I replied and hung up.

"See, I told you I would meet your family before getting Cynthia, I just misjudged the day." I giggled, playfully poking at Edward.

"Misjudged?" Emmett asked.

"Well, I can't be right all of the time." I giggled,  standing up.

"Here, I'll come with you to get Cynthia." Edward stood with me. "Since I did drive you here." He smirked.

"Who is Cynthia, Alice?" Carlisle asked.

"My little sister." I gushed.

"If I can be of any help let me know, I am a doctor after all." Carlisle smiled and gave me a short but meaningful hug. "It was so nice to meet you Alice, you're welcome here anytime."

"Thank you, it was nice to finally meet you in person as well." I giggled and Edward grabbed my hand and led me out to his Volvo.
