I can't actually remember how most of this goes so forgive me if I get it wrong :P Btw the songs I put in the side are worth listening to, the first two I like them (From Elfen Lied and Death Note) This one is AMAZING!!!!!!! I'd got up extra early this morning to escape the house before Kakashi woke up. I had left a note of course, I didn't want him panicking. I am now trying to find Kiba's house without falling over. I have the book in my arms and am struggling to see.

"Hello, why are you up so early?" 

I turn to face where I think the figure is, "Um... well, I was trying to find Kiba Inuzuka's house..." I say hopefully.

"I'll take you." The person starts to walk away. I follow after the footsteps as quickly as I can.

"Why do you need that boy?" The person asks.

"Well, I found this book about something he might like." I reply, slightly curious about who this person was. Should I have trusted them so quickly?

"Hm well Kiba isn't that smart, why would he need a book about sight?" The person asks, their voice void of emotion.

"It's something we were talking about yesterday... I read the book and saw something that related to our conversation." I say, praying that it worked.

"You read the book? Is it good?" 

Oh god. Who is this person?

"Yeah... quite interesting." I reply.

The person stops suddenly, "Tell me, do you know my name? I don't believe we have met in person before, I have seen you around at the academy though."

"No, I am sorry. My name is Mei." I say.

"I am Shino Aburame. May I help you with your problem? I don't believe the story you told me." He asks.

"Uh, no not really." I say.

"Now I don't believe many have noticed but I did straight away, you walk strangely, and stumble a lot also you have no reactions to most things, I pulled out a Kunai twice. You did nothing. My guess is that you don't wear that blindfold for fun."Shino says.

I scowl. "Why would I wear this ratty thing for fun? Do you think I chose to be the way I am? It isn't any of your business, I only just met you so why should I ask you for help when I could ask my friend?" I snap.

Silence.

I sigh, "I'm sorry Shino, my sight is very limited. I still haven't quite accepted it." I say.

"I understand. I am on Kiba's team, although he's friendly, he isn't the brightest he might not understand your reasons. May I help?" He asks.

I paused, unsure if I should explain fully. Finally I shoved the book towards him and feel him take it.  "It's the Portabijon. A technique that I was told could be dangerous and kinda difficult. I wish to perform it." I say.

I hear the pages turning.

"Well it does sound difficult. Restoring your eyesight though, I can understand. Are you sure you're capable of doing this?" He asks.

"What do you mean?"

"Well do you really believe you should see? Your are blind correct?" 

I nod slowly, "What do you mean?"

"Well if it is this dangerous, and a lot could go wrong, is it worth risking it?"

"I wish to see." I growl, "That is all I want from this world." 

He is silent again.

"Your dream is sensible but sounds hard to obtain. I will not help with the actual performing of the technique, but I'll read out the information from the book that you need, if you would like."

"Thank you Shino." I say gratefully. 

He explains that there is a nice clearing in the forest just outside the city that would be a good spot to read. Apparently not many people are around there so the chance of being disturbed is low.

We sit down on some sandy ground and I listen as he starts to read out the book.

"The Portabijon is a technique used to restore eyesight by creating new living human. To create the human you must have strong chakra, as you will have to give the human some. That chakra will become their own. You'll need to know the internal workings, shapes and positions of a human. For example, you'll need to know where each organ is and what it does, this takes a long time to learn. Lastly to create the human you will need to use a dead body and half of your own blood. The technique is a long a difficult one, it can be dangerous and can cost you your life if it goes wrong. Only attempt it if you have very strong chakra and know everything about the body." Shino stops.

"It doesn't sound too bad..." I say.

"A dead body? Where are you meant to get that without killing somebody?" 

"Somebody who died in battle?" 

"Their family would want their body." Shino says.

"An orphan or something that died." I say.

"I guess so, but still, even though it says it isn't a forbidden jutsu... It sure does sound like one." 

"The librarian said that it isn't a forbidden jutsu because you can't kill the person that you use. You can only use somebody's body who dies of natural causes." I say.

Shino is quiet for a minute, "Well it's almost six we can talk about this later. I am going to get some breakfast." I hear the gentle pat of his shoes hitting the ground as he walks away.

Six? Oh I'm dead. Naruto and Sakura are going to kill me for being late! I stand up and walk back the way I came, doing my best to remember the exact directions.

When I hear voices again, I walk as close as I can to a voice and ask, "Hello, can you take me to the training ground outside the village? I need to get there quickly and um..." I point to my blindfold and pull away my hair.

There's a gasp, "O-Oh! Y-you-Your eyes? A b-blindfold?" It's a high pitched voice, stuttering, unsure.

"Please." I say.

"Y-yes, are you ok?" The girl asks, "I-I'm Hinata H-Hyuuga."

"I'm Mei, I'm on team 7. I heard you're with Kiba right? Please can you take me to the training ground? I'm late already and it's hard for me to see, i'll get lost." I say.

She holds my wrists gently and starts to pull me along behind her.

When we get to the training ground, she stays behind me, "N-nice meeting you... Mei, I-I must g-go now..." She disappears quickly.

I walk forward and stop when I hear.

"Mei-chan! Your late!" Naruto yells.

"Half an hour late Mei!" Sakura squeals loudly.

Is Sasuke here? Or is he just being quiet?

"Sorry, I got a bit lost..." They instantly back off.

I sit down on the grass and wait with them for Kakashi sensei.

"Mei, you seem happier today..." I hear Sakura mumble.

"Yeah I guess I am." I reply.

"Why is that Mei-chan?" Naruto asks excitedly.

"It's a secret, if it works, you'll all find out soon." I reply with a smile.

"KAKASHI SENSEI YOU'RE LATE!" Sakura suddenly screams.

"Sorry a black cat crossed my path so I had to take a different longer route..."

"Yeah right." I say quietly.

"LIAR!" Naruto yells.

"What's the test thing Kakashi sensei?" Sakura asks.

"I have two bells, you must get them from me before midday."

"There are four of us though..." Sakura says.

"Yes, two of you will have no lunch and will go back to the Academy." He replies.

"What?!" Naruto yells.

"You must want to kill me, or you won't get a bell."

I hear somebody move, "I never said go, Naruto." Kakashi says.

"I-" He mumbles.

"Go!" Kakashi yells.

I hear two sets of steps scatter. 

I walk back towards the trees trying not to trip.

I reach the trees, my hand runs over the rough bark , then I hear Naruto scream. I don't bother to look around, instead I just listen.

I go into the cover of the trees and walk for a while, feeling from tree to tree so I don't walk into something.

I sit down against a tree and untie my blindfold.

I lay it down next to me and turn my head up to the leaves.

I listen to the sounds of the forest then hear a twig snap, nearby.

"Go away." I snap.

"What are you doing?"

Sasuke. What does he want?

"I'm listening to the forest." I say.

"Why aren't you trying to get a bell?"

"I can't fight, I don't know how and I can't see." I reply, "So what's the point? I didn't chose to be a ninja anyway, the Hokage told me I should be one."

He doesn't reply.

"I'll help you get a bell if you want..." 

Why is he acting so out of character?

"What's the catch?" I ask.

"Tell me what you were talking about with Shino."

I sigh. Damn nosy people.

"After I've got a bell, maybe I'll tell you." I say and grin. I breathe deeply, the fresh air feels cleansing in the early morning. I pushed my hands into the soil below me, relishing the feeling of being in nature.

He pauses, probably deciding between getting all the glory for himself and knowing what I had been talking to Shino about, "Alright." 

So, I assumed curiosity was his motive. I didn't have much else to go on. I pushed myself up and brushed off my hands then followed him by sound to the clearing. As we walked he whispered a plan to me. 

I nodded and got into position, behind a tree.

His footsteps retreated.

I sneak in the direction of where I heard movement. Sasuke had point me forwards and said walk straight, I knew roughly where I was going. My hearing made it easier for me to avoid making any sound at all, I could hear if I stepped too loudly.

When I'm standing behind the noise. I reach forward, at first feeling nothing. I moved my hands around a little. I nearly laughed, imagining what I looked like. Slightly crouched over, my hands out in front of me, waving around. What a sight I must be. My hand brushed something cold that jingled, I instantly closed my fist around the bells and pulled sharply back.

I jump backwards.

"Wha- How? Mei?" Kakashi sensei ask, sounding genuinely confused.

I grin, "Sasuke helped me. He distracted you!" 

"Huh. But how do you get behind me? I didn't even sense you!" 

"Really?" I say, "Cool. I dunno."

"I couldn't even sense your Chakra..." He mumbles then disappears. Probably to go find Naruto.

"Sasuke is a head," I nearly jump out of my skin when Sakura's voice appears. I hear a thud. Did she fall over?

"Sakura?"

"Ugh, Mei? I dreamed that Sasuke was just a head." Sakura groans from the floor.

I chuckle, what was she on about? "I'm sure he's okay. Are you?" I ask.

"Yeah thanks, SASUKE YOU'RE OK!!" I guessed she had spotted him again.

Both of them must have decided they were going somewhere because I then hear their footsteps retreating. I follow, unsure of what else to do.

"I have decided, you shouldn't go back to the Academy." I hear Kakashi say. Everyone seemed to be standing still.

"Really?" Naruto exclaims.

"Cool." Sakura says.

"You should be dropped from the program completely."

Protests and exclamations burst from the young nin.

"You missed the aim of the exercise. Well Mei and Sasuke had it without realizing."

Nobody answers.

"It's teamwork." He says.

Naruto and Sakura groan realizing how simple it is.

I ignore him, zoning out until he disappears, leaving us to have lunch.

I open my lunch but place it right in front of where I thought Naruto was.

"Mei-chan?" He asks.

"I'm not hungry." I reply.

"But Kakashi sensei said-" Sakura starts.

"I don't care. He's our teammate right? Kakashi sensei is giving us mixed views. Help teammates? Or not? I'll do what I want and what I think is right, not what he tells me to do."

I can tell that she's staring at me. 

Suddenly Sasuke and Sakura offer Naruto some food as well.

"YOU!" Kakashi sensei appears. The air chills rapidly, I hear faint thunder in the distance.

We all freeze. 

"PASS!" He exclaims, and as he says that the air warms again.

Again Naruto and Sakura exclaimed, and I zone out once again, starting to feel tired from waking up so early.

"Let's go." Kakashi sensei says, pulling me out my daydreams. 

He helps me stand up and we head home.

Only when I'm falling asleep that night do I realize that we had left Naruto tied to the post.
