Chapter Two
Chapter Two
(One week later)
Krystal's POV
"Krystal! Get up!"
I awoke to the sounds of my parents yelling for me to wake up.
"Mmmmmmmmmmwhatisit..." I murmured sleepily.
"You have to get up! You're going to be late to the flight!"
"What flight?"
"The flight to Sweden!"
"Oh yeah..."
I rolled out of bed and collapsed on the floor.
"One more minute..." I said.
I closed my eyes again.
"What are we going to do with you, Krystal?"
"Lemme sleep," I replied.
My mom pulled me up.
"You have to wake up now, Krystal," she commanded me. "If you don't, you'll miss your flight."
"Sure thing," I drowsily said.
And then I fell on the floor once more and blacked out.
•••••••••••••••••••
I woke up to tapping on my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes to find that I was in the car and I arrived at the airport. And my mom's face was right in front of mine.
I jumped a bit in surprise.
"What the heck happened?" I cried out in surprise. "How did I get here?"
I looked down and discovered my clothes were on too.
"I'm so confused."
"Well," my mom began, "It was 4:30 AM when your dad and I woke you up. You woke up for a minute, and passed out because of exhaustion. We dressed you, carried you to the car and drove you here. It's now 5:00 AM."
"Oh," I said. "Well, thanks for that. But I'm still super tired."
"I know," Mom said. "You can sleep on the plane. But we still have to catch your flight."
She handed me a mirror and my contacts.
"Put those in," she commanded me.
I did as she asked, and then I got out of the car and followed her in the airport. My dad came behind me with the luggage.
The airport was bustling with people, hurrying to get on their flights. There was a big security check line.
My head was pounding with exhaustion as I walked to the bag check in. My eyes wanted to slide close so bad.
At the desk, my parents gave the lady that worked there my big luggage and paid the fee for it. Then, Mom and Dad turned to me.
"It's time for us to leave now," Dad said.
I threw my arms around them.
"I'm going to miss you," I told them.
"We'll miss you too, sweetheart," Mom said. "But it's just a couple months.
"Doing the things you love!" Dad added. "It'll be great. And you can give us a call whenever you want."
"Yeah," I said.
"Well, we can't stay here forever. We can't have you miss your flight."
"Okay."
"So, bye, Krystal! Have fun!"
Bye," I said and waved.
I watched them leave the airport.
I'm all alone now, I thought. But I'll be fine! I'm fourteen! I can be okay on my own.
I started heading to the security check line. The line was very long, so I played on my phone to pass time. After a while, I got a piercing headache, so I turned off my phone and tried my best to keep my eyes open.
I finally got to the front of the line and placed my bag into a bin. I then placed the bin on the conveyor belt.
It's almost over, I thought. I just gotta get past the security check...
BEEP! BEEP!
A security guard walked up to me.
"Excuse me miss, it appears that you have a metal object. We will have to dispose of it."
"Fine," I said absentmindedly.
They took the metal object and threw it away.
I walked through the metal detector and took my bag out of the bin.
"Finally," I muttered. "Now I can get on the plane and sleep."
I looked at my phone for the time. It read 6:25 AM.
I have five minutes until my flight! I thought. I have to hurry!
I started running over to Gate 104.
•••••••••••••••••••••
I arrived there just in time. Everybody was boarding the plane. I ran in line. After a minute, a man scanned my ticket and let me go on the plane.
I walked through the hallway-like place that took me to the plane. I found a seat and sat down. I stored my bag underneath the seat in front of me and fastened my seatbelt.
I got in a comfy position and fell in a deep sleep.
•••••••••••••••••
I woke up to the sound of loud footsteps. I opened my eyes and stretched. I felt so well-rested.
I looked over to my left to see that people were getting up and departing the airplane.
I grabbed my bag, got up and walked to the exit as well. As I was walking through the airport, I noticed how dry and uncomfortable my eyes felt.
I rubbed them and didn't feel much relief, but my eyes got extremely blurry.
Oh no, I thought. I rubbed my contacts out!
I stumbled through the hallways, panic pulsing through me. All I could see was blur.
How can I get to my next flight in time? I thought. I'll miss it and be stranded here!
Wait, I thought hopefully. My whole stash of contacts are in my pocket!
I dug through both of my pockets. Nothing.
What happened to my metal case? I thought. Wait a second... isn't that the metal object that got thrown away?
I slapped myself. Why did I let that get thrown away?
I just have to get somewhere, I calmed myself. I'll ask for help, it'll be all good.
I started to walk again, but then I tripped over my shoelace.
I landed on the ground.
"Ugh..." I groaned in pain.
Suddenly, a hand pulled me up.
"Are you okay?"
