Mei woke up the next morning in a good mood. How could she not be happy? Her and Minghao confessed to eachother.
She walked downstairs and into the kitchen, but stopped when she saw a figure standing at her sink.
"Hey, Mei."
Her breath caught in her throat. "Bo?"
"I just want to let you know that I'm doing good, and I love and miss you."
"I love and miss you too, Bo."
He smiled. "I have to go now, but I'll try to visit again soon."
He started fading, and she ran over to his figure. "No, no! Please."
She couldn't do anything, and he faded into the air of her apartment. She shook her head and got herself together, heading off to school. When she got there, she walked in and met with the boys as usual.
Kino smiled, but he pursed his lips. "You seem happy and upset at the same time."
You sighed. "Well, Minghao and I confessed to each other last night, and I also saw my brother."
Renjun scrunched his eyebrows. "Mei, he's-"
"Dead. I know," she cleared her throat. "But he was in my kitchen, speaking to me."
"At least you saw him." Renjun said.
Kino nodded. "And Minghao is in love with you."
She laughed and pushed her hair out of her face. "Let's get to class."
The three of them made their way to their classes, and as she was walking down one of the hallways, she stopped in her tracks at a weird noise. She looked back into the hallway she just passed and saw something she definitely didn't want to see.
Minghao and Jaehwa kissing.
Mei was there for a second before Minghao pulled away and made eye contact with her. She looked down and walked off to her class, but she heard footsteps behind her, then someone grabbed her wrist.
"Mei, I can explain." Minghao said.
"That's exactly what Jiho said," she told him, looking back down. "But it's okay, I love getting my feelings hurt. So please go back to your make out session."
Mei walked off, leaving him there alone. It just hurt so much that he would do that after what he said the previous night.
'I like you'
She shouldn't have believed him.
Mei was slightly more angry than upset about what happened that morning as she walked to lunch. She walked over to the table and put her head down in her arms.
"What's wrong, baby?" Kino asked, playing with a strand of her hair.
"You know how I told you about Minghao this morning?" She asked, and Renjun hummed. "I saw him making out with Jaehwa while I was walking to class."
"I'm sorry, Mei." Renjun said.
"It's okay Ren, it's not your fault."
At that moment, Jaehwa walked in with a smirk on her face. She walked over and plopped down right in front of Mei, next to renjun.
"Hey, Mei." She chirped.
The girl propped her head up on her palm and rolled her eyes. "What do you want?"
"I just wanted to see how you were doing after what you saw this morning." She smiled.
"Jaehwa, get out of my face."
"No."
Mei got up. "Okay, have it your way."
She grabbed Jaehwa by her ear and dragged her out of the lunch room. She walked her to the back of the school and let go.
"I don't know what you're trying to do Jaehwa," you bit. "But you should stop."
"It's not my fault my boyfriend wants me back. You probably weren't good in bed."
"First of all, we didn't sleep together. Second of all, you need to stay away from me," you paused, getting in her face. "Before I do something I'll regret."
"You won't do anything." She mocked.
"You're right, I just hope you choke on the saliva Minghao's shoving down your throat."
Mei smiled at her and walked back into the building.
Soon the day was finally over. Mei walked out of the entrance only to be dragged all the way to the back of the building and thrown onto the ground.
"You're going to regret threatening Jaehwa." A deep voice said.
Mei didn't know the person, but she kept her composure. "Let go of me."
"No, you deserve this."
"Deserve what-"
She was cut off by an extreme pain in her lower abdomen. She looked down only to see a knife sticking out of her stomach. She cried out in pain as the figure ran off.
As Minghao walked out of school, he heard cries of pain and used his speed to get to the source of the cries, and what he saw was absolutely heart wrenching.
There Mei was, on the ground, bleeding out with a knife in her lower abdomen. He knew that if he didn't do something, she would die of bloodloss, which he didn't want to happen.
Minghao didn't know how she would feel about being turned, but he really had no other choice. It was too late to get her to a hospital and he didn't want her to die.
He ran over to Mei and picked her up in his arms. He bit his wrist and held it up to her mouth, so his blood would get into her system. She went limp, but that wouldn't be for too long, as long as his blood was in her system right before she died, she would come back as a vampire.
He was a pure blood vampire, and Mei could see visions. So, even though she wouldn't be a pure blood after he turned her, her power and energy level would be head on with a pure blood vampire's bloodline.
Minghao picked Mei up and put her in his car, driving to her apartment. When he pulled up, he carried her bridal style into her apartment and waited for her to wake up.
Mei groaned as she woke up. She heard shuffling near her and sat up to be faced with her apartment. She looked around and made eye contact with Minghao.
"I'm sorry."
