Mei went downstairs and called Kino in the kitchen.

"Hello?" Kino answered.

"Hey Kino, I was wondering if you could pick Ren up and come over to my house today?"

"Yeah, I'd love to. I'll be there in twenty."

The girl smiled to herself. "Awesome, bye."

"Having friends over?" Eunho popped into the kitchen after she hung up.

"Just two." She told him.

"Okay, I'll make breakfast for three."

Mei clapped excitedly. "Thanks, Eunho. You're the best."

Meanwhile, Minghao was in his living room, trying to talk to his dad. "Hey, Dad?"

"Yes, son?"

He took a breath. "I don't want to be with Jaehwa anymore."

He snapped his head in Minghao's direction and scowled at him. "She's your soulmate."

"No," Minghao shook his head. "She's not."

"How do you know?"

"I just have a feeling, and her smell isn't right."

"You're not breaking up with Jaehwa."

"Okay, fine," he crossed his arms. "Please tell me how creatures like us find our soulmate."

"For us, our soulmates scent is the most beautiful smell in the world. It doesn't compare to any other scent."

"Exactly. Jaehwa's scent is her perfume, but there's this girl that goes to my school and her scent is different. I can smell it from miles away."

"Son, it's probably her perfume."

Minghao scoffed at his dad, going up to his room. There was no way that Mei's scent was just her perfume.

Back at the girls house, the door bell rang and she opened it, revealing Kino and Renjun. "Come in."

Renjun hugged her waist as a hello. "You have a nice house, Mei."

"Breakfast is served!" Eunho called.

The three of them walked over to the table and sat down, and Eunho set three plates down. "Thank you."

"So, I have something to tell you guys." Mei said, looking at her food.

Kino's eyes went wide. "Are you about to tell us something drastic?"

"What? No," she laughed. "It's about Minghao."

"Okay," Renjun pursed his lips. "Go on."

"Apparently, my parents used to be hunters of the supernatural. They've seen all kinds of things, including angels, demons, vampires and werewolves, which are the beings I had Minghao suspected as," the girl paused and pointed at nothing as she continued. "But recently, angel and demon were knocked off the list. Now I'm left with werewolf and vampire."

"You're serious?" Kino questioned.

"Yes, and I saw him leaning over something lifeless the other day, and werewolves only attack on full moons. We haven't had one this month. I'm thinking Minghao is a vampire."

"You're being serious right now?" Kino questioned again.

Mei sighed. "Yes Kino. If you don't believe me, I'll prove it."

Renjun shook his head. "It's not that we don't believe you, but it's kind of crazy."

"I know it sounds crazy," she paused. "Kino, do you remember at that dinner how Minghao said 'I know she's not lying'?"

"Yeah, I remember."

"Vampires can detect when someone's lying or not."

"I mean, anyone could tell you weren't lying," he retorted. "You looked very serious."

"Fine. After breakfast, we're going somewhere."

"Where are we going?" Renjun asked.

"We're going to a cafe that Minghao goes to every Sunday."

"How do you know he goes there?"

Mei put the prongs of her fork against her bottom lip. "In order to study his behavior, I had to follow him on occasion. I've never seen him feed off of a human, but he's tried to feed off of animals. I don't think he has the heart to feed off of a human."

The three spotted Minghao sitting in the corner of the cafe like usual. As soon as the wind blew through the door, Minghao smelt the air and looked over to look at the girl. She didn't make eye contact, but she saw him out of the corner of her eye. Mei and the boys ordered some drinks and sat down.

"Did you see the way he sniffed the air and looked at me?" The boys nodded as she pointed at her nose. "His sense of smell is heightened."

Renjun shrugged. "Anyone would look up to see where a certain smell was coming from."

"No, they wouldn't, but watch. I'll whisper his name and he'll probably look over here," she said, scooting over to the wall to distance herself as much as possible. "Minghao."

Her whisper traveled, and sure enough, he looked over at the three.

Minghao knew exactly what Mei was doing, and it made him slightly angry. The least she could do if she believed he was inhuman was keep it to herself, to at least respect him.

Minghao got up shortly after she whispered his name, and if looks could kill, Mei would've been down.

Kino pursed his lips. "Doesn't seem like he liked that."

"He's probably mad because I'm trying to get you guys to believe me. He most likely doesn't want it to spread around if he is inhuman," she sighed. "So if this is true, can you guys keep it to yourselves?"

Renjun nodded. "Of course we will, Mei."

When they got back to her house, Kino and Renjun had to leave. When they left, the girl went up to her room and opened up that special notebook, writing some things down.

If she did make Minghao upset, she would have to be really careful the following day.
