Zanna woke up screaming,sweat glistening on her forehead.Panting,she reached for her phone on the nightstand and powered it on.Three thirty-six.The witching hour.

Her heart made galloping sounds in her chest.For three months,Zanna has been having the same dream that always ended when large teeth were about to sink in her neck.She remembered her mother telling stories of witchcraft,rare animals and small human beings, she called the fairies.Erika always had a story to tell even the bad scary ones.

She wondered if the dream had anything to do with the stories she enjoyed being told. Maybe it was because she missed Erika.....
Regardless of the reason for her dreams,she always brushed it away and looked forward to a new sunlit day.

Putting her phone back down,she went to her bathroom and splashed water on her face and went back to bed.It was easy to go back to sleep,with dreams disturbing her sleep and a job that allowed little or no rest at all.She was exhausted most of the time but she suspected stress to be the sole cause of it.

A mild breeze woke her up at daybreak.She always felt it before working up and she was convinced that it was a trick of her imagination or air escaping through the vents.Either way,she revelled in its peaceful feel.And not a day had she woken up to the sound of an alarm,she didn't need it.

After freshening up and dressing in her work clothes,she decided to skip breakfast and head to One-Bite Restaurant. She could always get something to eat there.

The restaurant was her only means of income.A co-owner alongside Devon,her only friend,well if you counted Nate her cat then she had two friends.She wasn't lonely,she just never had a need for numerous friends,granted,she did have acquaintances.She fed Nate and left .was warm around this time of the year.She imagined yellow and pink flowers around her,there was only a little grass.The sun shone bright and for a moment,she dared to block the dark that plagued her nights.Smiling,she drove onto the road.

Ten minutes and she would be at the office.
