Virgil was not sure why he'd woken up. Maybe he had had a weird dream, maybe there had been a sound. Or maybe he had missed the warmth of his boyfriend that should be in bed next to him.

Either way, he was awake now and no matter how tired he was he still quickly established that he was indeed alone in bed. Virgil pulled his hand back from having reached out to check if there was another body to cuddle up to. He rolled over, eyes immediately drawn to the only source of light in the room.

Virgil saw his boyfriend sitting hunched in front of his laptop at the desk in the room, head leaning in one of his hands as he tiredly typed with the other. Virgil turned his head and blinked a few times to be able to see what the clock on the nightstand read.

01:34 am.

"Logan." He called out. Or intended to, it ended up being more of a mumble. That did not matter, Logan still jumped a little at the unexpected sound, apparently not having noticed that Virgil had woken up. Logan spun around in his chair and Virgil couldn't see his facial expression because of the dark and the fact that the only light in the room was now directly behind Logan.

"Verge, I'm sorry, did I wake you?" He said softly, apparently not grumpy about being startled. Virgil did not know the answer to that question, all he knew at the moment was that Logan should be in bed next to him, not only because Virgil wanted to steal warmth from him.

"No." Virgil said, voice thick with sleep and he cleared his throat, then yawning. "Come to bed, it's late and you need sleep."

"I'm just finishing up this powerpoint that I need for the class I'm teaching on Thursday, and I still need to plan what to do for Friday's class." Logan said, most likely thinking those were valid reasons as to why he should be awake at half past one in the morning on a Monday.

"Logan, you also need sleep so you'll have the energy to be a good teacher tomo- later today." Virgil said, not really having the energy to have a whole discussion about this, but his boyfriend really did suck at taking proper care of himself sometimes.

"I don't need to go to bed, I'm not tired, I'll be fine." Logan said, making a move as to turn back to his laptop. Virgil was not going to let him stay up working any longer. He sighed dramatically before speaking again.

"But, darling, I'll be so lonely without you. Come curl up in my arms so I can feel whole again." Virgil whined, pouting at him even if he wasn't sure Logan could see it in the dark.

"O- Oh. Well. Are you trying to seduce me into healthy sleeping patterns?" Logan said, and Virgil didn't need to be able to see him to know he was flustered. He smirked.

"Is it working?" He asked. Logan fully turned back towards his laptop, clicking a few more times with the mouse before closing down what he was working on and shutting the laptop off with a sigh. Virgil chuckled quietly.

"Good. Now go brush your teeth. I'll wait here for you." Virgil said, pulling the covers tighter around himself to preserve the heat. Logan mumbled something Virgil could not hear, but he did slowly make his way out of the room and Virgil could hear him turn the tap in the bathroom on.

He closed his eyes, certain he was not going to fall back asleep before Logan got into bed. He waited an eternity (or maybe the correct expression was 'a couple of minutes') and then Logan was back, hastily getting undressed and just leaving his clothes on the floor, only wearing his underwear.

He crawled into bed and Virgil held the duvet up, allowing Logan to cuddle up to him. He pulled Logan closer, pressing a sleepy kiss to his jaw, then taking Logan's glasses off and putting them on the nightstand before Logan himself forgot about them and fell asleep with them on.

"Night, Lo." He said quietly, receiving a tired murmur in response. It took Logan about ten more seconds to fall asleep, which led Virgil to believe that he had been much more tired than what he had pretended to be. Virgil smiled to himself, he too falling asleep not long after Logan.

Also I felt a bit confident today, got a haircut a few days ago
