[87] - Borrow

Uhhhh hi :)

sweden is cold

Warnings: mild worrying at one point, mentioned previously being stressed out/overwhelmed

--

There was no way for Logan to deny the fact that he was starting to feel a bit... well, stressed. Simply slightly overwhelmed. This was why he had saved his work and turned his computer off. Logan had read much about stress and knew that the logical thing to do would be to take a break from what he was working on.

Now, he just seemed to have a hard time relaxing. He had tried reading but it seemed that he had too many thoughts swimming in his head for him to focus on the words on the page. He kept having to read the same sentence over and over again.

Logan was feeling a bit restless, and he did not want to sit still, because it just resulted in him thinking too much about the work that he knew he would eventually have to continue. But as of now he had to take a moment to relax, otherwise he would, as he had so many times before, end up too overwhelmed.

What was the one thing that could always distract him, even when he was busy working? That would be Virgil. (This was something the both of them were aware of, and Virgil certainly used it to his advantage when he wanted attention or thought Logan had worked enough.) Logan had not seen Virgil since breakfast this morning though. If Logan had to guess he would say it was likely that Virgil was in his room.

So of course that is where Logan went, taking the quicker way of just sinking out of his room and into Virgil's instead of walking. But as Logan's eyes got used to the half dark after having sat in his own well lit room for a few hours he could conclude that his guess had been wrong, Virgil was not in his room, as far as Logan could tell.

Logan sighed at the empty room.

He had just wanted something comforting, like a hug from Virgil. Not that he wanted to admit how comforting Virgil's hugs really were. Of course, since Virgil is not there the chance of that happening is minimised drastically. He considered looking further for Virgil, but he did not want to have to look through the entire mindscape to find his boyfriend. Well, he should not be staying inside Virgil's room for too long anyway. He doubted Virgil would have a problem with it, but it might be seen as a violation of privacy.

Logan is just about to leave when he spotted something thrown over the chair standing by Virgil's closet, and he instantly recognized the black material as Virgil's previous hoodie. He haltered in the middle of a step.

Logan hesitates for a moment, thinking over the thought that had formed in his mind as he laid his eyes on the old hoodie. Could he?

He takes a few steps closer, moving slower than normal and stopping by the chair, hand reaching out and grabbing the sleeve in a loose grip. It seemed comfortable, warm, and Logan was indeed somewhat cold after sitting still for so long.

Logan could think of no actual downsides, so he pulled the hoodie off of the back of the chair and put it on. It was big and the sleeves fell down over his hands, but, it was certainly comfortable. Logan thought he could understand Virgil's desire to constantly be hiding in an oversized hoodie. He pushed the sleeves up a bit, at least enough for him to be able to use his hands.

He pulled the hood up, then pushing the hoodie up a bit, burrowing his face in the soft material. Despite the hoodie not having been worn very often during the last year (only when Virgil's purple patched one were the in the wash) it still smelled like Virgil, which was weirdly comforting. Logan was quite thankful for the fact that he was alone at the moment because he presumed this would look quite weird for anyone else walking into the room. He let go of the hoodie, the sleeves once again falling down over his hands as he let his hands fall down to his sides.

Would Virgil mind if he borrowed this for a few hours (or forever), was it weird of him to wear his boyfriend's clothes? But, Logan thought to himself, Virgil didn't have to know, right?

Then Logan heard the door open and close, and he spun around. It was Virgil, of course, since this was his room. Virgil closed the door, then stopped in the middle of a movement as he spotted Logan. Logan could have smiled at the surprise Virgil was expressing, but the smallest of anxiety had now rooted inside of his mind.

"Greetings Virgil." Logan said, at the same time as Virgil himself seemed to disregard the surprise of finding Logan in his room, wearing his hoodie.

"Hey Lo. Also, what have I told you?" Virgil grins at him. "There's no need to seem so stiff and professional while talking to me. I'm your boyfriend, not your work colleague."

Logan playfully rolled his eyes at that and avoided mentioning that technically they were colleagues as they both worked/existed for the same purpose: keeping Thomas alive.

"Right then, let me try again. Hello, my love." Logan said, sounding as casual as he could while also trying to sound as loving as possible. Logan was well aware of the exact reaction he would receive. Virgil coughed and looked to the side, just as flustered as he always became during the rare times that Logan would use a pet name as such.

Virgil reached out to grab Logan's hand, at first having to push up the sleeve that had once again slipped down over his hands. Logan felt Virgil's fingertips grace his palm before his fingers curled around his wrist. The touch tickled and Logan was very glad that he hadn't shivered at that.

"Should I ask?" Virgil then said, pulling at the hoodie (that Logan had momentarily forgotten that he was wearing) with his hand that was not holding onto Logan.

"Ah, yeah, that." Now it was Logan's turn to try not to look too flustered.

"I was ...cold." He said, which wasn't a complete lie, but the statement was more lie than truth. Virgil did not seem convinced, but he simply shrugged and let it go for now.

"What was it you wanted when you came here looking for me? Because, well, I'm here now so I could probably help you." Virgil said. A sentence formed in Logan's head, but the words never seemed to reach his mouth because apparently his brain just remembered how awkward he was asking for things.

"I- um, comfort?" Logan managed, and if Virgil was even for a moment surprised by that he didn't show it. Virgil only smiled his half-smile-half-smirk and raised a brow. He wasn't sure if Virgil was surprised at his words or at how nervous he sounded. Logan ignored the temptation to avert his eyes.

Virgil let go of his hand, then took half a step forward, putting both his hands on Logan's waist, beneath the hoodie, and then fully looping his arms around him, pulling Logan into a tight hug. Virgil burrowed his face against Logan's neck.

"This good?" Virgil wondered, and Logan smiled to himself, his own arms immediately around Virgil, holding him close.

"Yes, this is most ideal." He said, relaxing against Virgil, hearing Virgil's sharp exhale that might have been an almost laugh. They stood there for a while, at least until Logan mustered up the willpower to take a small step back, out of the embrace. He gave Virgil a quick peck on the cheek.

"Is that also why you're wearing my old hoodie?" Virgil said, referring to what he had asked a minute or three ago and Logan did not see the point in denying it when it was the exact reason why.

"It's warm and smells like you." He admitted, pulling it just a little bit tighter around himself. He loved being with Virgil, but he did not like to stay too long in his room.

"Aww." Virgil grinned, and Logan pushed him back, clearing his throat awkwardly. There was absolutely no need for Virgil to 'awe' at him. Of course this just made Virgil laugh, and Logan began to take the hoodie off because he felt kind of awkward now.

"Hey, no. I didn't mean it like that, Lo." Virgil mumbles out a moment later, hands now somehow gripping lightly to his arms. Logan's attempt at getting out of the clothing stops, and he meet Virgil's eyes, also seeing the smile that is still on Virgil's face.

"You're just kind of being really, really cute." Virgil said shyly, and Logan flustered bright red, tempted to tell Virgil he had no right to say such things, because Logan had no way to respond, he had no idea what to say. Virgil's grip to his arms had softened.

"So it's not weird that I am wearing your clothes, or using your old hoodie as an object of comfort?" Logan said, still feeling a little uncertain. After all he had not thought it necessary for Virgil to know that he had borrowed the hoodie. Virgil shook his head as a reply to the question, and Logan felt himself relax at that. At the very least he wasn't being creepy.

"I mean, it's not like I'm really using it. So I don't mind if you do." He then added, shoving his hands in the pockets of the hoodie he himself was wearing.

Virgil leaned closer and brushed his lips against Logan's, just for a mere second. It was entirely enough to make a shiver run down his spine, which luckily Virgil either didn't notice or pretended not to notice. Virgil then put a hand on Logan's back and led him towards the door, the both of them going out into the hallway. Logan assumed that it was clear to the both of them that he was getting slightly nervous from Virgil's room.

"How's work going?" Virgil asked, and Logan let out a sound that sounded somewhere in the middle of a sigh and a groan. Virgil chuckled.

"I guessed so. Want me to help you? Well, I don't know if I'll be of much help, but I can try?" Virgil said, and Logan smiled at him. Making another attempt at finishing his work certainly sounded more tempting when adding Virgil to the picture.

"I would be glad to have your company."
