Warnings: stress
Look. sometimes things are just overwhelming
--
People might think lying on the floor is uncomfortable, but if that is the case they have clearly never been overwhelmed with stress before. Lying down on the floor in the dark is far more comfortable than one could imagine. Especially if you had music playing in a pair of speakers that lit up the ceiling in a multitude of colors.
A sigh escaped his lips as he observed the colors. A few minutes ago he'd needed to cry, but now he felt mostly devoid of emotion, as if the tears had vaporised before they had had the chance to escape. So he was left to let himself be swept away by the music as his mind was blank with none of the usual thoughts that whirled around.
I just wanna stay in the sun where I find
I know it's hard sometimes
Pieces of peace in the sun's peace of mind
I know it's hard sometimes
Logan found himself really enjoying the music, despite it being very different from what he usually listened to. It was a playlist of Virgil's that he had been told to listen to, and what better time than now? Virgil had been right about it being music that helped him relax, this was indeed lowering his stress levels. A little bit.
There was a knock on his door, that he barely heard over the music, but he was certain that someone had indeed knocked.
"Can I come in?" Came Virgil's voice. Logan didn't really have the energy to reply, so he just made a lazy gesture with his hand, then letting it fall back to the floor with a small thud as the door clicked and opened a few centimeters. Logan fumbled for his phone as Virgil stepped inside the room, finding it and pressing the volume button three times. At least now he'd hear Virgil easily.
Virgil sank down on his knees next to Logan, placing a hand softly on his chest. Virgil's hand was warm, and the heat radiated through the fabric of his button up, making his realize how cold he actually was. He looked up into Virgil's eyes, detecting slight worry in his boyfriends gaze.
"Lo... are you, uh, alright?" Virgil asked carefully. Logan didn't want to worry him. He knew he'd feel better in a few days most likely, these episodes of overwhelming exhaust and stress only lasted a week or so. Logan closed his eyes with a quiet sigh.
"There were emotions." He mumbled a moment later, it was the only thing he could think of saying. Virgil made a noise of understanding, reaching a hand out to brush away the hair that had fallen down over Logan's forehead. Logan reopened his eyes.
"Too much stress, I got overwhelmed." Logan continued, and Virgil have him an understanding nod.
Virgil leaned down until their faces were only a few centimeters apart, and Logan's eyes were already half closed. He could feel Virgil's breath against his lips. It smelled strongly of strawberry candy.
"Is this okay?" Virgil said, and Logan nodded, eyes fluttering closed as Virgil minimised the distance between them until there were none left and all he needed to focus on were the comforting pressure of Virgil's lips against his own. Logan sighed into the kiss, his arms around Virgil's neck to keep him close. His breath did not only smell like strawberry, Virgil tasted of it too, Logan discovered as Virgil deepened the kiss and Logan parted his lips to allow Virgil's tongue to lick into his mouth.
Logan kept himself from sighing when they separated, though Virgil's face was still close enough for Logan to easily kiss him since he still had his arms around him (so of course he pressed a chaste kiss to Virgil's lips, he couldn't help himself, especially not when Virgil still had his eyes on Logan's mouth). Virgil looked down at Logan with a small smile that forced the corners of Logan's mouth up.
"You're pretty." Virgil said. Logan let go of Virgil in favor of hiding his face in his hands. He blamed it on not having been prepared for any sort of compliment at the moment, though if he tried to use that to defend himself then Virgil would surely point out that Logan always reacted like this to compliments, no matter if he was prepared or not.
"Are you going to come up from the floor or should I join you down here?" Virgil then asked, completely seriously. Logan grunted, then shaking his head. It would probably be for the best if he got up from the floor, after all he'd been lying there for quite a long time now, maybe over an hour.
"I suppose there are better places to be lying down." Logan admitted. He wouldn't have a problem with staying there for another hour, but it was likely that that would worry Virgil, so the better choice was to take a break from stressing, instead focusing on something else and spending time with Virgil.
"I've got another proposal. Roman is trying to do some weird stunt from some vine Patton showed him. I bet that'll be fun to watch ...and also it'd be good if were there to make sure he doesn't get hurt." Virgil said, smiling hesitantly, a smile that became more genuine when Logan chuckled and nodded.
"Sounds like a plan." He said, and Virgil took Logan's hand in his to drag him with Virgil when he stood up.
