"Here we are." Logan said, stopping and putting down a blanket. Virgil dug his hands into his pockets, looking around with the most tiny smile. Logan looked out over the familiar sight, feeling himself relax and all the worries lifted from his mind.

They stood on a cliff, the sea stretched out before their eyes. If they turned to the right the sea continued  into the horizon and beyond, and the sky was light blue with shades of purple and pink, and the tiniest bit of yellow. Right in front of them the water met land, and behind the dark stripe of land the sky was bright red, going into yellow which morphed into blue.

"Right. But you still haven't told me where here is and what we are doing here at 3 am." Virgil said softly, gesturing out at everything, the cliffs they stood on, that stretched out behind them, the blue water and the pale bright sky.

"I suppose this could be said to be a date." Logan said quietly, feeling his face heat up slightly when Virgil looked at him in surprise. He looked down at the cliff they stood on, occupying himself by placing a black blanket onto the ground and sitting down.

"A date?"

"You seemed to be stressed lately, and I thought that this might help you wind down. Personally I find it very calming here and this place always helps me de-stress." Logan said, and memories of visiting this place numerous times before flashed before his mind. He had found this place by accident, once when he felt that he just needed to get out of the mindscape. He had simply asked the imagination to take him somewhere far away and isolated, somewhere real since he hadn't had the energy to use his own creativity.

Virgil exhaled, looking away from Logan and turning his face back towards the sky, his shoulders dropping. Then he sat down on the blanket too.

"I love it." He said after a moment of peaceful silence, smiling at the view.

"But where are we, and I don't understand why we are here at 3am? Usually you strongly advise me to be in bed by now." Virgil said, doing his best impression of Logan.

"Well, as you know the imagination doesn't only morph after your imagination, it can also turn into real places on the earth. This is somewhere in Sweden, by the Gulf of Bothnia. And 3am is when the sun rises. In the summer of course. During the winter then sun rises very late and goes down early since this place is quite close to the north pole, or far closer than we are,at least." Logan said quietly. He had watched both the sunrise and the sunset here many times, both during the winter and the summer.

"Woah, that’s so… woah." Virgil said, apparently at a loss for what to say. Logan shrugged, glancing at Virgil who was looking out over the water and at the sky with wonder shining in his eyes.

"I think I have never been so calm and stress free before." Virgil said softly, smiling and reaching a hand up towards the sky, watching the first rays of sunshine that hits it. They sat there, listening to the sound of the waves and the occasional seagull that flew above their heads.

"It is so beautiful out here." He whispered, observing the colors that mirrored in the tranquil water.

"Yes, it is." Logan mumbled, his eyes stuck on, not the sunrise, but Virgil. He smiled as he watched Virgil close his eyes and let the rays of sunshine hit his face. Virgil pulled his knees up to his chest, leaning his head on them. He ran a hand over the rough surface of the cliff, while letting the sun warm his face. Virgil looked relaxed, calmer than Logan had seen him in weeks, and he knew that taking Virgil here had been a good idea.

"Thank you," Virgil said, smiling at Logan in a way that made him feel like he could not fully comprehend how strongly he felt for the boy in front of him, "thank you so much for bringing me here."

Virgil turned back to the sunrise, looking at the sun which was slowly rising above the stripe of land in the horizon. Logan wasn't watching the sky, he had seen the sunrise many times before, but seeing Virgil look so genuinely happy, a slight breeze in his hair while he watched the sun which was shining on him in a way that made him look almost like he was glowing, caused his breath to get caught in his throat.

"I love you." Logan said, because it felt like the only way he could ease the overwhelming feeling of fondness that had overtaken him. Virgil looked at him with surprise, happiness, and the smallest hint of disbelief shining in his eyes. It was the first time Logan had ever admitted to loving Virgil. He had always been too shy to actually utter those three words, which seemed silly now when he had said them, and the way Virgil looked at him made him feel like he could not possibly feel happier.

"I love you too." Virgil's hand found Logan's and their fingers entwined, then he shuffled closer to Logan and leaned his head on his shoulder. He let out a small happy sigh, squinting at the bright sun which was now completely above the line of land at the horizon.

It was starting to get slightly chilly, Logan shivered in the light breeze. He conjured up another blanket and draped it over the two of them and they huddled close beneath it, sharing body heat. It might be in the middle of summer, but it's still quite cold so early in the morning.

They watched the first light of the morning hit the world, making the sea glimmer and the sky turn from red to yellow that morphed into a pale blue heaven that stretched out above them. The sunshine hit the lonesome clouds that were scattered far apart in the sky, and made them glow yellow and pink. The sight was breathtaking.

They stayed until Logan began to shiver, even with the blanket on and Virgil began to doze of against his shoulder. Then Logan stood, helping Virgil up from the ground, and with the blankets wrapped around their shoulders and still gripping the others hand tightly, they made their way back towards the mindscape with the sun shining behind them.

It is the most beautiful place in the universe. I am so happy here.

I actually felt alive for the first time in like two years when I looked at the sun rising.

Also it looks a bit darker than it was outside.
