There was a knock on Virgil's door and he pulled his headphones off as he heard Patton's voice asking for permission to enter. After placing his laptop on top of the paper he'd been drawing on Virgil shouted that he could and soon his door opened up to reveal Patton standing there with a bowl of pasta in his hands.
"Since you didn't come down for dinner I figured I might as well bring you some food to make sure you eat anything at all." He said and stepped inside with a smile that Virgil returned. He hadn't even realized he was hungry until now.
Patton placed the bowl next to Virgil's laptop on his desk and Virgil pulled it closer, a hand already wrapping around the fork, ready to shovel food into his mouth.
He glanced at Patton who was standing right by him still, fingertips running along a line of blue marker on his desk that Virgil hadn't bothered trying to wipe away. There were many marks of paint or pen on his desk from when he was drawing or the times he was bored and just scribbled outside of the paper.
"Hey, Virgil..." Patton began and it became clear that the hunch he'd had that Patton had wanted to say something had been right, "Are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah. I'm good. Why'd you ask?" Virgil said, taking a bite of the food and then lowering his fork. He could guess why Patton was wondering, but it was nothing he was particularly interested in discussing.
"It's just... you've been very distant lately, sitting cooped up in your room and barely coming downstairs long enough to join us for meals. I'm worried you don't feel welcome, because you are, we want you around and we love you." Patton said, eyes fixed on Virgil now and Virgil turned his chair around to face him.
"It's alright Patton, I know. And I lo- like you guys too. I don't mean to make any of you worried I just... it's a bit complicated." He said, grimacing. He didn't know what else to say and they were both quiet for a while, Virgil eating some more to feel less awkward.
"I've also noticed Logan is quieter than usual..." Patton said, looking at him and Virgil averted his eyes, swallowing a mouthful of food.
"Has anything happened between you two? Because that would explain both you two's behaviour lately. If you guys have had a falling out or anything then just know I'll help if I can." Patton said and Virgil drummed on the colorful surface of the desk with his fingertips, trying to think of what to say.
He and Logan hadn't exactly had a fall out, they weren't particularly upset with each other (or at least Virgil wasn't upset with Logan, but if Logan was upset with him, well, that wouldn't be too big of a surprise), they were just... awkward. Virgil didn't know what to say around him, and Logan hadn't approached him to start a conversation since the kiss either, neither of them seemed to know what to do now.
"No, we haven't fought or anything, it's just- I just... I..." Virgil said, sighing deeply and refusing to look at Patton.
"I kissed him." He mumbled, then glancing Patton's way quickly. Whatever Patton had expected him to say that clearly wasn't it because he gaped at him, but quickly closing his mouth again.
"Oh." Was all he said and Virgil nodded, not minding that Patton didn't yet know what else to say.
"Yeah."
Virgil continued eating during the silence that followed, thinking that he might as well finish the wonderful meal Patton had brought him. He really loved Patton's cooking.
"Did he react badly? Is that why you are avoiding everyone?" Was Patton's next question, asked carefully and with Patton's hand on his shoulder, and Virgil leaned back in his chair with a huff.
"No, but we didn't really talk about it at all, it just kind of happened and then I went back to my room and went to bed, and then in the morning I just didn't know what to say and apparently he didn't either, so we just didn't talk about what happened and the more time passes the less brave I become, I don't know, I'm awkward and I shouldn't have kissed him in the first place because it was a really stupid thing to do." Virgil rambled with a frown.
To himself Virgil could admit that rather than regretting the kiss he regretted ending up in this situation where he and Logan were awkward around each other, but he was a far too awkward and anxious person to not feel nervous and flustered around Logan now.
"Does he not return your feelings?" Patton wondered, using a tone of voice as if what he'd just said seemed a quite unlikely reality. At first Virgil wanted to deny that he had any feelings for Logan in the first place, but that was slightly pointless by now.
"Um. I don't know. He did kiss me back and before any of this happened he kind of complimented my looks, but..." Virgil said, not wanting to say the rest of his sentence out loud. But why would he fall for someone like me, Virgil finished internally.
"Talk to him. I think this will all be solved if you just talk to him." Patton reassured, and Virgil almost had to believe him because Patton sounded so sure of himself, plus the fact that as far as Virgil knew Logan was not actually upset with him, he was just awkward too, and therefore he likely didn't have much to fear.
"Yeah, maybe. I'll try to... Tonight, or something." Virgil said, mostly to make Patton happy and not because he had had any actual plan to talk to Logan, but he knew how sad it made Patton to see the others upset and he didn't want to be the cause of that. Not to mention that he really should go talk to Logan, apologize for kissing him and apologize for being his awkward self.

Virgil found himself standing outside of Logan's room that same evening, feeling a lot less sure of himself than he'd been about ten minutes ago when he'd somehow convinced himself that he should get this over with.
He pushed his glasses up, irritated over the fact that he was here and he was awkward and a coward. Virgil had taken his contact lenses off earlier in the evening, scared that if he kept them in too long they'd get stuck like that time a few nights ago (he had actually been a lot more careful since after that), and it didn't really matter if Logan saw him with the glasses on as he already had once before.
He forced his hand to knock on the door before he could convince himself to chicken out, and he stood frozen in place for a few seconds before slowly realizing that no one was opening the door, meaning that Virgil did not have to do this whole thing now, he could postpone it until later. He could go to bed and avoid this all!
Then of course as soon as Vigil had sighed in relief and relaxed his shoulder he heard Logan's voice from right behind him, only saying hello but Virgil jumped anyway, his glasses almost falling to the floor. He turned around and gave Logan a look of did-you-really-have-to-scare-me-half-to-death, and Logan looked apologetic.
"Sorry, I did not mean to startle you. But since you are standing outside my room I assumed it was me you came to speak to and I didn't think speaking would catch you off guard." He said with the slightest of smiles and Logan's eyes meeting his and Virgil shrugged, pushing his damned glasses up again and wrapping his arms around himself.
"Yes, I did... um, I did come to speak to you." Virgil said, suddenly having remembered that he was an awkward person, and he wondered where the bravery he'd possessed a few days ago when kissing Logan as a thank you for his help had gone, he'd like to be that version of himself more often.
Virgil thought that perhaps that was all the bravery he had had in store for this year and that he'd used it all up for now.
"Would you like to come into my room then? Or perhaps you'd feel more comfortable if we went to your room, or the living room." Logan said, clearly putting Virgil's comfort first, and Virgil found himself wondering where Logan would rather be.
Virgil ruled out his own room immediately, knowing the effect it had on the others and the last thing he wanted was to cause Logan anxiety. Logan had likely been on his way to his room, but Virgil couldn't convince himself that Logan really wanted him in his room, or that he wouldn't be even more awkward in Logan's room
"The living room?" Virgil suggested, thinking that it was neutral ground, and he hoped that was the right choice. Logan didn't say anything nor let any emotion cross his face, he only gave Virgil a nod and they both started walking to the living room. Roman and Patton had gone to bed hours ago, there wasn't a risk that they would be disturbed.
Logan sat down next to him, and he didn't say anything but only looked at Virgil expectingly which must mean he had to be the first to speak.
"Um..." Virgil said after what might have been an actual whole minute of silence, not bearing to just sit there while they stared at each other and got nowhere, but he wasn't exactly the best at formulating his thoughts and then speaking them out loud. He'd do his best though.
"I'm sorry for avoiding you. And for kissing you. And for being awkward. And... yeah, sorry." Virgil said, pulling at his hoodie strings until one end almost disappeared into the hem of the hood. He pulled on that end instead while waiting for Logans answer.
"Well, then, if were starting with apologies. I'm sorry for avoiding you too, because I can't say I've made any more attempt to talk to you than you have to talk to me." Logan said, looking right at Virgil, not avoiding to meet his eyes in the least.
"And when it comes to the, um, the kiss, I'd be rather sad if that was something you regretted." Logan said and that cute blush began appearing on his face again, and Virgil had to do his best not to sit there staring at him like a dumbass.
"You would?" He suspected he sounded more surprised than Logan had counted on, because he almost looked amused.
"I can only speak for myself and my own feelings, but the kiss meant something, to me at least. If it didn't to you, then I'm not sure we have much else to discuss." Logan said, straightforward as always.
"It did, it meant something. I wouldn't just kiss you for fun. Well, it could definitely have seemed like I did, but I didn't. Okay, why I kissed you in that exact moment I can't answer, I just kind of did it, but I wouldn't have if I didn't have feelings for you." Oh god, he was babbling again. Virgil pressed his lips shut before saying anything else, not sure he was making anything better and just hoping he wasn't making things worse.
Logan smiled a little so Virgil supposed that was a good sign.
Logan looked right into his eyes and Virgil felt himself growing flustered, he wished Logan didn't have such an effect on him. It'd never been a big of a problem before now because Logan had never had a reason to stare at him or sit too close, or anything else stupid that made his heart beat speed up.
"Does your violet eye change its shade?" Logan said then, leaning in really close again like he had when first seeing Virgil's other eye. The change of the conversation topic was welcome.
"Um." Said Virgil, sounding intelligent and well spoken as always.
"It darkened further, does the shade have a reason to change? Does it have to do with your surroundings? Emotions?" Logan asked and sounded more interested to find out the answer than Virgil had ever been.
"...Yeah, kinda? It's not something I've explored or anything, but it's like emotions or some shit." Virgil said. He didn't actually know much about it, but he was pretty sure it had something to do with that but he didn't care much.
"You are so interesting." Logan breathed and Virgil internally yelled a bit because he wasn't sure what else he was supposed to do when Logan was close like this, he might as well sit pressed up against him because Virgil was sure he couldn't become more flustered anyway.
"Shut up or I'll kiss you again." Virgil muttered, not sure that was the smartest thing he could've said, but perhaps he just wanted a reason to kiss Logan again because if it was one thing Logan was bad at it was being silent.
"Oh, sorry, what did you say?" Logan said, his hand under Virgil's chin tilting his head up a little bit.
"I said-" Virgil began but then caught a glimpse of the smirk on Logan's face, "oh."
Logan began laughing and Virgil leaned in to kiss him, effectively shutting him up. At least for the few seconds that the kiss lasted. When they parted Virgil smiled and Logan said something that he didn't quite catch, then kissing him, a kiss that lasted about as long as the last one and Virgil gripped to Logan's waist, barely resisting the temptation to pull Logan in closer.
They parted again, slightly breathless, and Logan moved back a little bit. Virgil let go of him, bringing his hands back to pull at his hoodie strings as he waited for Logan to say anything.
"Is there anything else you'd like to discuss? About... this." Logan asked, Virgil barely remembering what they had been talking about in the first place.
"No? I don't think so. I'm good, we'll talk more some other time." Virgil said. He knew they did have more things to discuss, like perhaps what they wanted to do with these feelings that they both seemed to have but, hey, Virgil had definitely talked enough about feelings for one day, and he didn't quite know what he wanted anyway. All that other stuff could be decided later.
"Agreed, it's quite late and we've got plenty time to talk any other day." Logan said, thankfully seeming to be on the same page as Virgil. He stood up, which wasn't ideal as Virgil hadn't exactly minded kissing Logan again. He had found that that was quite a good way to pass time.
"I recommend you go get some sleep, you need optimal rest for tomorrow as we shall be filming for the next Sanders Sides." Logan reminded him, which wasn't needed as Virgil had been stressed over that since the last video had been finished.
He hummed only to show that he had heard him, not promising anything. He watched as Logan walked towards the stairs, feeling a bit caught as Logan turned back around just before stepping onto the first step.
"Your eyes are both beautiful, it's a shame that you hide the violet one." Logan said, then going up the stairs and being gone in an instant, and Virgil buried his face in his hands to hide his blush even if there was no one there to look at him. Maybe it was fair that Logan was the one to leave him flustered this time.
