Virgil walked up the street towards the library that unfortunately enough was placed on the top of a hill. Why they would build a library there Virgil didn't understood. Nobody wanted to walk up a hill, especially not during a very warm summer day. Especially not at nine in the morning. And yet here Virgil was, doing exactly that.

He needed to study, or at least that was what he told himself. It worked, because he did indeed need to study, he just ignored the fact that the library probably wasn't the best place for him to be doing his studying.

There was one insanely attractive librarian who worked there during the weekends, and every time Virgil went to borrow a book or just to have a quiet place to study they ended up talking (which was how Virgil knew he was working there only on the weekends, he hadn't been creepy and stalked him or anything).

Though Virgil really doubted that coming there to study on the weekends actually got him anywhere. He always worked much, much slower here (not that he had amazing focus anywhere else though) but Logan's company was particularly distracting. Even though Logan was there to work, he still found a lot of time to come and sit with Virgil.

He pushed the door up to the library, almost immediately spotting Logan sitting in a chair and reading a book. No one else were anywhere to be seen, it seemed Virgil was the only person there other than Logan.

"Hey Logan." Virgil called and saw how Logan glanced up from the page before he put the book down and stood up, coming over to Virgil. He as usual dressed in a pair of black jeans, a button-up (dark blue today), and a tie in a brighter shade of blue. He smiled surprisingly bright as he came face to face with Virgil.

Shit, why was he always so handsome? Virgil was too gay for this.

"Greetings Virgil, doing some studying again?" Logan asked, an eyebrow raised in amusement. Both of them knew Virgil wouldn't get much studying done. And both of them knew Logan wouldn't get much work done. (Not that Logan had that much to do at this time).

Logan followed Virgil as he found a table and sat down, beginning to pull out text books, a notebook and some pens from his backpack. Logan sat down next to him and there was not much space between them, which Virgil definitely focused far too much on.

"Yeah... We'll see if I get anything done." Virgil said, not having to mention that Logan himself was the reason for his distraction. Not that Logan knew he was distracted because he was pining for Logan himself.

Logan was cute and had a good personality, and Virgil enjoyed talking to him.  Which was honestly impressive, Virgil wasn't social in the least and usually avoided interacting with other humans as much as he could. But Virgil even kept in touch with Logan via texting (Logan having asked for his phone number about two months ago), and Virgil was really happy to have a friend like him. He didn't really have any other friends.

Which made Virgil feel that it was quite annoying that he had feelings for Logan. Virgil had been very reluctant at first to admit to himself that he was crushing on his friend, at first only worrying that it'd mess their friendship up.

Though he'd fairly quickly realized that Logan couldn't tell Virgil had a crush on him, so he soon relaxed around Logan again. It wasn't as if Logan picked up on his behaviour anyway.

"You got any work to do?" Virgil asked, pretending to be looking for a certain page as he flipped through his textbook while not at all paying attention to what he was doing.

"Not really, no. Most people are likely still in bed at this time. All I'm really doing is either reading or aimlessly walking through the library and straightening up the lines of books on the shelves." Logan said, and just the look on his face told Virgil how bored he was.

From what Virgil had gathered Logan really enjoyed working there. Usually when he came to the library there was only Logan there, perhaps one of two of his co-workers, and sometimes even people borrowing or returning books (which they didn't need anyone's help with most of the times).

Then again Virgil came here in the mornings just for that very reason, all the nerds were sleeping after having stayed up reading late at night, which meant Virgil got to spend some almost uninterrupted time with Logan.

"You coming here certainly livens things up, though. It's always nice to have some good company." Logan said, and their eyes met briefly, Virgil smiling shyly before averting his eyes.

Logan just said he liked his company, what better time was there to ask him out? He might as well do it now. Virgil had told himself to do it for weeks, and he was honestly going to be disappointed in himself if he still hadn't asked when today ended.

Logan had reached for one of Virgil's textbooks and were now reading some random page while Virgil discreetly stared at him and tried to will himself to be brave for once. Then Logan suddenly looked up at Virgil again and he was startled enough at having been caught staring that he actually started to speak.

"Um. Hey, I was just wondering, uh, maybe we could go get lunch. Together, today." Virgil said, daring a small smile that hopefully did not only look awkward. Logan lowered the book slowly.

"Like a date?" Logan smiled at him, softly, hopefully, and Virgil really wanted to ask Logan how he could possibly make him feel this way, it should be illegal.

"Yeah, like a date. But you don't have to, we can go get lunch just as friends, I mean, I don't mind that, being your friend is great but, like, if you'd like to...?" He rambled, feeling much more awkward than usual around Logan.

"Virgil, I'd love to go on a date with you. I've been meaning to ask you out." Logan said, looking down at his hands that were clasped together and resting on the table.

"You have?" Virgil couldn't help but to ask, watching how Logan smiled and slowly raised his gaze. Virgil was more surprised to hear that than he would like to admit.

"Yes. You're attractive and have a pleasant personality, of course I wish to go out with you." Logan said and Virgil tried with all his might not to blush but it was no use, he felt his face heat up at Logan's words.

"I- shu... okay-" Virgil stuttered, wondering for the billionth time if there was someone who actually knew how to respond to a compliment without being self deprecating or sounding horribly awkward. Logan only seemed amused at Virgil's inability to speak English, and he let his head drop to the table to not have to look at Logan.

"I'm too gay to handle cute boys complimenting me." Virgil complained, forehead resting on the opened textbook as he stared down at the floor. He realized a moment later that that was probably something that should've stayed a thought and not be said in front of his crush.

"Well... I have to admit I don't handle compliments very well either." Logan said. Virgil sat back up, ignoring how awkward he was being.

"When do you have lunch break today?" Virgil asked, already knowing that it was at twelve, but he needed to make sure, plus he needed to change the topic.

"At twelve, so in about three hours. I will most likely spend those three hours here with you though, if you wouldn't mind." Logan said, and Virgil supposed that it was clear to both of them that he wouldn't be getting much studying at all done today.

"I don't mind."

"Great." Logan moved slightly closer, then looking up and smiling at Virgil as their arms brushed. Virgil thought his brain might have just short-circuited right then and there.

Needless to say Virgil didn't concentrate very well on his studies for the remainder of the time he stayed at the library.
