Husbands in the morning

Logan woke up to the sound of quiet steps across the floor, then the feeling of the mattress dipping as the person in the room must've sat down on the bed. Logan kept his eyes closed, not paying much attention to that other person and instead thoroughly enjoying the thought of falling back asleep. However the person next to him seemed to disagree as Logan a moment later felt a soft pair of lips pressed against his cheek.
"Wake-y, wake-y." Virgil murmured close to his ear, then pressing another kiss to Logan's skin, his neck this time. Logan had an actual response in mind, but all that came out when he parted his lips was a low mumble that he himself heard didn't make any sense at all. Clearly his brain hadn't connected to his mouth yet.
Virgil let out a giggle. Logan opened his eyes the slightest bit to look at Virgil, not seeing too clearly since he was without glasses, but being able to see that he was already dressed. He wondered how long he'd been up already. He closed his eyes again, reaching his arms up and around Virgil, pulling him closer until he too was lying down.
"Lo, babe, no. You're supposed to leave bed, not drag me down to nap with you." Virgil said and Logan knew he was grinning without having to look at him. Logan didn't respond, instead he nuzzled his face into Virgil and tried to fall asleep again.
"Well, you asked for it." Virgil said, and Logan's half awake brain didn't quite realize the mischievous tone in Virgil's voice, and neither did he really apprehend that Virgil was moving until he felt something ice cold against his stomach.
Logan let out an embarrassingly high-pitched noise and fell out of bed in his hurry to push himself away from Virgil. His legs got tangled in the covers and he dragged those with him down on the floor.
Logan pushed himself up with his elbows and glared at Virgil who was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe. Logan tried to stay mad, he really did his best to keep the frown on his face, but it was impossible. Curse Virgil's laugh for being one of the things that always made him smile. He pulled the covers closer, rolled over onto his stomach and buried his face in them, adamant not to let Virgil see that he was smiling too.
It wasn't actually funny to be woken up like that and he didn't want Virgil to think it was a good idea to attempt this again. Logan had to admit that this was one of the less pleasant ways of being forced out of bed. Virgil apparently thought he'd been hilarious and he kept laughing loudly, letting out wheezing sounds that almost made it sound like he was crying.
"You should've-" Virgil said, his sentence being interrupted by more loud laughter, "-seen your face!"
Logan groaned into the covers, determined not to look at Virgil. His laughter was muffled now and Logan supposed Virgil must be trying to calm down. Logan couldn't resist it and lifted his head, looking at Virgil. His face was red from laughing so hard and his eyes shone in a way that made Logan feel a flutter in his chest. He shook his head and bit his lip to keep his dumbass smile away from his face. Virgil crawled over the bed and jumped down to the floor, kneeling next to Logan.
"Come on, up you get, Lo." He said, a hand on his lower back.
"I think you're incredibly rude. What was that even?" Logan said in mostly faked annoyance. Virgil shrugged.
"I washed my hands and the water was really cold. Was too lazy to change it to warm water, so now my hands are freezing. But your stomach was very warm." Virgil said, a bit too cheerfully if you asked Logan. He sighed, still feeling the cold against his skin as if it had left a mark.
"You're horrible. I was incredibly warm and comfortable before you came and bothered me." Logan whined, letting Virgil finally drag him up from the floor.
"Yeah, but I missed you." Virgil said a moment later when they stood face to face, smiling sweetly at Logan.
"You could have just... laid down and cuddled with me. Then you would not miss me." Logan said.
"That wouldn't have been nearly as much fun, though." Virgil said and Logan could feel Virgil's (still really cold) hands against his back. His sleep t-shirt didn't do much.
"Why don't you go and warm your hands up before you touch me, you horrible person." Logan said, giving Virgil the most annoyed glare he could manage.
"I am, I'm warming them on you!" Virgil said and Logan shuddered when Virgil snuck his hands under his shirt.
"If you don't like it you shouldn't have married me." Virgil said. Logan scoffed at him, giving him an almost push that didn't make Virgil as much as move his hands an inch.
"Oh, I don't remember anything about having to let you warm your horribly cold hands on me in either of our wedding vows." He said.
"You have to read between the lines." Virgil said and began pulling him out of the room. Logan let out a sigh and allowed himself to be dragged to the kitchen where Virgil pushed him down onto a chair and a moment later stuck his favorite cup in his hands. Logan took a small sip of the hot contents and gave Virgil a surprised glance.
"Hot chocolate?" He said, not really questioning Virgil's choice of drink, just surprised since they usually drank coffee.
"Just felt like it." Virgil said with a shrug, holding his own cup in his hands.
"How long have you been up?" Logan asked and Virgil let out a vague sound.
"A while, woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. After an hour or so I got tired at staring at your face, no matter how pretty you are, and I escaped your surprisingly tight grip around me and ate some breakfast." Virgil told him, then returning his attention to his hot drink a moment later.
Logan let out a small hum, staring out at the room and accidentally getting lost in thought about repainting their kitchen cabinets in a nicer color than they had been when they moved in a while ago until Virgil put his cup back onto the table and the movement caught Logan's eye. He looked up at Virgil again, snorting when he saw him.
"Here, you've got some..." Logan started, not bothering to finish the sentence and instead standing up, reaching a hand out and wiping away a drop of chocolate in the corner of Virgil's mouth.
His fingers lingered for a second, maybe two and then Logan leaned in and kissed Virgil, as if they were two pining characters in a cliche movie. Whatever, Logan married this man and therefore thought he should have the right to kiss him whenever he (and Virgil, of course) wanted to, no matter how cliche the moment might be.
Virgil kissed back, smiling softly at Logan when they parted. Logan wiped his finger on his sleep t-shirt (it needed to be washed anyway and Logan had planned on doing the laundry today).
They finished their hot chocolate in a comfortable silence and Logan started to feel actually awake. It was very nice to know that they had a whole weekend in front of them where they could relax, maybe even do something nice, like going to the movies or making dinner together.
"Oh by the way, Roman texted me, wondered if we wanted to go have brunch with him and Patton tomorrow?" Virgil said, clearly wanting Logan's opinion on that idea.
"Well that sounds enjoyable, we haven't seen them in two weeks now." Logan said. He wouldn't admit it, at least not to Roman, but he did miss them when they didn't see their friends as often.
"Great, I'll text him and tell him we're free tomorrow." Virgil said, smile tugging at his lips. He stood up, holding his cup out Virgil took his empty cup out of his hands.
"Do you want to watch an episode of Friends with me?" Virgil asked as he stood up and made his way through the kitchen, putting their cups in the dishwasher.
"Of course." Logan said, knowing very well that there was a 95% chance this would end with the two of them binging an entire season and cuddling on the couch for the rest of the day. Who could say no to that?
"Just keep your hands off me." Logan said even if he doubted that Virgil was still cold in the least. Though Virgil just smirked at him in a way that told Logan that Virgil definitely wasn’t going to keep his hands to himself.
"Sure." He said, walking up to Logan and throwing an arm around his shoulders, leading him to the couch. Virgil kissed Logan's cheek, then dragging him down on the couch with him as he reached for the tv remote.
Logan cuddled up next to his husband, thinking that if he woke up before Virgil did tomorrow then he would definitely be getting his revenge.
