Buried in Lava
Violets POV:

The trees in the forest were large; the leaves were about the size of blankets. The group tore leaves from the trees and laid down to rest on the soft grass. Sól fell asleep pretty quickly with the egg besides him. Drizzle had fallen asleep to her right and was snoring a bit. Mist had slept besides Sól, Sól only allowed it because she was quiet. Lavender had sometimes stayed awake and guarded them but this time she had slept. Even with all of the bugs buzzing and Forest sounds it was still quiet. Soon she too had fallen asleep. She awoke but saw darkness. She could feel a hardness around her and knew she had to get out. She felt this sensation before, of a hardness around her. She pushed on the walls. They moved but only a bit. She pushed harder on the walls and almost got them down. She pushed in the walls a final time before the walls fell away and moonlight caved in. She looked up and saw two dragons, A Pale Purple Boulderwing and Another Boulderwing that was a Dark Grey But they had small white dots on their wings. Some of the dots were darker colored. One of them had a crown on and the other did too. She looked down at herself and she was a pasty blue. She was picked up out of her walls. She looked at the walls and saw that it was an egg, well was. "Hello little one my name is Geode". The Pale Purple Boulderwing said holding her. "The one next to me is your father Chalk". She told her. Chalk looked at her and waved. "What should we name her?". He said while looking at her. "I was thinking Pearl but that might not fit her". Geode said. "What about Opal?". Chalk said pointing to a gem on the ground. "It's wonderful!, Where did the Opal come from though?". Geode said, picking it up from the ground. "Hmm I don't really know, but now we have our Opal, Pr-". Chalk was cut off as the scene faded to black. A shaking awoke her. It was Lavender who woke her. "What happened, are you ok?". Violet asked her. "I saw something in the trees!". Lavender said pointing to a gap in them. "What did you see?". I don't know it was dark?, how do I tell her it had- No never mind that, Queen Blaze said there was nothing in the forest. "It was a thing, It-it had, I don't know what it was but I saw it!". Lavender said pointing to the trees. "We can see it in the morning, please get some sleep, Lavender". She told Lavender.

They awoke and it felt early. A bit too early. She saw Lavender already awake with Mist by her side. "Good morning Lavender and Mist". She greeted them. "Hey Violet". Lavender said. "G-Food Morning". Mist said, taking something out of her bag. It was glass bottle with some type of gas in it. "Who's gas is that?, is it yours?". She asked Mist. Mist looked at the bottle before putting it away. "It I-is But I d-don't use it much, Only for d-defense". She said closing the bag on her chest. "Well let's wake the others and get going". Lavender said walking over to Sól. He woke up pretty easily without making a fuss about needing more sleep. "Where are we going now?, into another forest?". Sól asked her. "We will only go in because Lavender saw something". Violet said pointing to the forest. Sól groaned as he got up while putting the egg into his chest. They went into the forest and Drizzle lit up his spots. This time his spots were brighter. She almost had to shield her eyes. As they were walking she had a vision. It was a Volcano but more dragons were coming out of it looking terrified. White flashed. A cauldron Lava appeared with a dragon covered in Lava. White flashed again. The Volcano appeared again but this time Lava exploded out of it. White flashed once more. It showed her a dragon crawling towards her, clawing at their throat. The vision ended and she blinked. Drizzle looked at her worryingly. Is she ok? Did she have a vision again?. Was it good or...? I hope it hope it wasn't too bad. I wonder if she would tell me what was in her vision. "Are you ok? Did you see something in the trees?, was it a vision?". Drizzle asked while dimming his spots. "N-no but I saw a Volcano and- and it exploded! We... should go save the dragons there first". She said shaking a bit. The dragons faces she saw were scared and some of the faces were in pain. Some of them were holding dragonets that were a sickly pale color. She didn't like having those visions, ones where everyone was in pain. "How are we supposed to get there if we don't know where they are?". Sól yelled. Drizzle moved up by an inch. "What if we go back to the City of the Eclipse and ask someone where it is?". Drizzle said pointing to the sand in the distance. "But what if one of the guards spots up again?". Lavender asked. She looked at the small city. She took out one of the red and green fruits and split it in half with the group while taking off the red and green skin. The inside was white with black dots in the middle. She put the red and green fruit to her mouth and it was a bit sweet but a bit bitter. To her the fruit tasted good. There was bit of juice from the fruit which was refreshing. They had flown to the City of the Eclipse and landed at the archway. They walked around a bit before finding a dragon who looked like a guard. Violet and the group walked over to them. "Hello we were wondering if-". "Are you intruders?". The guard asked. He was wearing armor that covered his body and legs. "Um... no but we were wondering if you know where the Moltenwings are". She said the guard looked around for a moment. "What!, why would you want to go there? They live in a Volcano!". The guard yelled at them. The group looked at each other and back at the guard. They walked away to find another guard that could help. The only guard Violet knew was Solar, the guard that had escorted them out. They tried to find their way to the fountain but had gotten lost. The group found themselves at a large pathway of buildings that had signs hanging from the doorways. As she was walking she read a few of them. Library-> Get free books!. She didn't know what books were but found them interesting. "Hey guys do you know what books are?". She asked them. Drizzle looked at her. "Noo, Can we see them?". She looked at the building again. It had a huge glass window. She peeled inside and saw a bookshelf with bark strips with paper inside them. "Hmm, the books sound interesting, I think we should go inside ". Lavender said. Sól looked at her. "We can't just go onto a random shop!, they might kick us out!". Sól yelled. "G-guys we should s-stop yelling a-and go inside". Mist said while opening the door. Violet went inside first, Drizzle second, Sól third, Mist fourth and Lavender fifth. There was a ringing sound as they closed the door. A dragon came out from behind a door and went to the counter that was made of stone. "How can I help you today!...". The dragon said from behind the counter quietly. "Oh... We are just looking". Violet said back quietly.

The floor was a soft carpet like a bunch of bear rugs fused together to make one big rug. She started looking at a shelf that almost reached the ceiling. Above the shelf a sign hung from the ceiling that read: History & Natural Disasters. She walked through the bookshelf and found a book that had an Orange spine. She took the book out of its place and looked at the cover. It was Orange with Bright Red on it that looked like a fire. In front of the fire was a Tsunami. There was a title burned onto the book that read: Worst Natural Disasters that have ever struck Aethria. She opened the book and there was a table of contents which had a bunch of Disasters. She looked more closely and realized that something had been put over a piece of the contents. She pressed on the part of the paper covering the part. The writing showed up and was a bit hard to see but she could still see it. The part read: Disappearance of the Seamwings pg 180. Her eyes widened and she flipped to page One Eighty. She looked at the page and saw a drawing of a dragon but it looked different. It had eight arms, one arm coming out of where the elbow should be. They had four eyes and fangs along with a stinger on the edge of its tail and it had four huge wings. The drawing was a bit hard to see because there was a crease where it's wings started. Below the picture it said the words: Information and facts about the tribe. There wasn't much information except that they used to spin silk and could sting other dragons and poison them. It said that they had gone extinct over 50 years ago in 5,456 AS. There wasn't any knowledge if there was a cure for when a dragon got stung. All that was known  was that dragons who had been stung would have a red blister on their body and the dragon would die in 2-3 days. Curious she flipped to the table of contents to see anything about the war that Queen Blaze mentioned. There was nothing except for stuff about What to do when an Eclipse happens and What to do during a Blood moon. She was curious about what a blood moon was so she flipped to page 160 and saw a drawing of a moon but it was colored in red with a glow around it. The Information said that dragonets hatched under a Blood moon would be able to project thoughts into others minds even if the dragonet wasn't a mind reader and Seers would be able to see all natural disasters. The information said to hide eggs inside and to cover all windows during a Blood moon as it could be dangerous for the dragonet earlier in life. She flipped to the contents again to see the page about Eclipses. It was page 167, She quickly flipped to the page and saw two pictures. One was a darkened moon and one was of a moon with a white ring around it. The one of a darkened moon was a Lunar Eclipse and the one with a white rind around it was a Solar Eclipse. During a Solar Eclipse dragons would go inside their houses and any Mind reader was confined in their house 1 day after the Eclipse. Violet looked at the Lunar eclipse and saw that there was a lot more info. She started reading more. The Lunar Eclipse was often feared because dragons couldn't see the moons. Dragons were instructed to close all windows, even Skylight because if any eggs hatched,  dragons wouldn't tell what powers their dragonet would have. It was dangerous to go outside because there would be no light. Even with an Eclipsewings horn light it would still be pitch black. She closed the book and put back into the shelf. She looked around and saw Drizzle talking with some dragonets who were Curious about him. She looked around for Sól and found him in a section labeled: Dragonet Care. He was looking through a book titled How To Care For A Dragonet. The title had an Egg on it and the background was a nice pasty Yellow with stars on it. "Hey Sól, What are you reading?". She asked him. Sól jumped before looking up from his book. "I- Uh I'm reading a book..... about dragonets in case the egg hatches". Let's hope it doesn't hatch while I'm flying... That would be bad. These book are easy but also kinda hard. The Egg will be ok I'll make sure of it! He thought while looking back into the book.

She walked over to Drizzle who was explaining to the dragonets how Aquatic worked. He flashed a patch on his Arm, Tail, Underbelly and Arm again before looking at Violet. "Oh hey Violet!, The Dragonets here wanted to know how Aquatic works, so I showed them". He said looking back at them. She looked at the dragonets. There were Three of them. One of them looked to be a Solarwing that was a Light Orange but had moons on their chest that were white. They had a small Solarwing that was a Dark Grey with Brown eyes. The Second One was a Light Grey that looked like a Moonwing but had small Solarwing spikes on their tail along with a horn on their head with Green eyes. The Third looked a bit like the first one but was a Paler Orange and moons that were smaller with Blue eyes. "Ooooh you are very pretty miss!". The Dark Grey one said as she sat beside Drizzle. "Oh, Well thank you!". She said. She looked at the Dark Grey dragonet and saw that she had a teardrop by her eyes. "What's you name?". She asked the dragonet in the middle who looked out a window. "My name is Emersion! These two are Beam and Shine!". She said, bumping her wing into them. "Hey!, That was mean! You're a meanie!". The one to Emersion's left said. "I'm not a meanie Beam! You are the one yelling!". Emersion said to Beam. "Guys please stop fighting!, This is a library". Shine said from Emersion's right. Drizzle looked at her and shrugged. I wonder if there are any books on history that would be fun to read. He thought while getting up. She looked at him before looking back at the history section. "Hey Drizzle I found the history section, Do you like history?". She asked him. " Oh yes I do like history, how did you know?". He looked at her. "Just a guess". She said and led him to the history section. She realized she had forgotten about Helpful. Hello Helpful are you there?... There was no answer. It was silent. She had gotten to far away from him. She had also Forgotten about the Volcano!. She gathered the group and told them about the Volcano vision. "We can't go there now! Plus how are we going to get all the dragons OUT of that volcano?". Sól yelled, whispering the word Volcano. They heard a shhhing sound and looked over at the front desk where there was a dragon shaking her head. Violet nodded. "We have to get here or innocent dragons will... Die". She said whispering the word die while looking at Drizzle. "We should find someone to take us to the Volcano". Drizzle said. "Well if anyone knows about the Volcano it's a guard right?". Lavender said while looking at the door. "Well w-what are we w-waiting for?. L-let's go!". Mist said, walking towards the door. They walked outside of the Library and over to the fountain. They passed the fountain and went up the stairs leading to the Queens palace. When they reached the top of the stairs they had seen Solar, The guard that had escorted them out. Solar looked at them and walked over. "Oh it's you five. Do you need to tell the Queen something?". He asked them. "No, we need something from you". Violet said. "Oh?, What is it you need?". He asked. "We need you to take us to the Moltenwings". She told him. "Oh...Ok I'll try my best to get you there". He said lifted his wings and going into the sky. Drizzle had gotten into the hammock and the group took off after Solar. "How do you know where they are?". Drizzle asked Solar. "Sometimes the Queens have meetings and I go with her. The meeting room there is HUGE". He said. Sól looked at him. "You've been Inside the Volcano?!". He asked. "Oh.. Well there are wrist bands that are enchanted to have whoever and whatever is on them to be Fireproof". Solar explained. "Oooh t-that sounds nice, it m-must be really hot I-in there". Mist said from behind them. Solar looked behind him. "Actually it's surprisingly cool there". He told Mist.

They had been following Solar for a few hours. It felt like they were doing the trip to the continent all over again. Solar looked back at them. "We have arrived!". He said. They looked ahead of them and saw rocks and huge mountains. The air was humid and a bit hot. They landed on a mountain and rested their wings. "How much farther is the Volcano?". Sól asked Solar. "We are a few minutes away from the Volcano". Solar said. I wonder what I'll tell the Queen when I get back. I could tell the truth and tell her I took some dragonets to a Volcano. She'll probably be after my head when I get back... By that time everyone was ready to get to the Volcano. Drizzle got into the sling and they started flying to the Volcano. After Five minutes they saw something. It was huge bigger than her home mountain, even Emerald pillar. She could see Seven dragons near the top of it. They looked to have Lava in them. "You guys stay here and I'll tell them why you're here". The group agreed and watched as Solar went up to the dragons. She saw two dragons fly over to him. They started talking and she saw the two dull red dragons nod. Solar flew back down to them. "They said that they will have to escort you guys in with the bands since none of you are fireproof and someone will guide you through the Lava". Sól lookes at him and held his egg close to him. "Don't worry your egg will be safe". Solar said to Sól. They flew up to the top of the Volcano and watched as Solar flew away. The guards went up to them. "We know why you are here and we are here to escort you in, your items will be safe and so will that egg". The guard on the right said looking at Sól. "How many armbands do you have?". Violet asked the guards. "We have Nine armbands in total so you five should be fine, We will have to guide you through the Lava and after that we will let you keep the armbands on Incase of... An emergency". The guard on the Left said. The guard had a pouch on his chest and puled out Five Armbands. She slipped an armband onto her arm and she felt strange. The guard to her right grabbed her talons and pulled her into the Volcano. It felt weird in the Lava. It was like water but more thick and harder to swim in. She felt a pulling on her talons and came out of the Lava. She saw lava dripping of of her slowly and it was slowly turning black as it cooled. She looked back up and wondered how Drizzle would get down if he could only glide. She heard something that sounded like a coming into the Volcano. She soon saw a dragon come out of the Lava with Drizzle. Drizzle came and stood to her right with the hammock draped over his back and helped her peel of the dried pieces of Lava stuck to her. They watched as the rest of the group came down into the Volcano. Sól came down from the Lava holding his egg. Mist came down the Volcano holding the bag on her chest. Lavender came in holding many of her bags, like the ones on her chest. They had helped each other take all the dried Lava off of each other. They looked around and saw circle-like caves surrounding them. There was a Lava pool in the far center of each one. Some of them dragons sitting in them. Some of them had a dragonet in the cave and a piece of metal was put over the Lava. The guard was to their right and watching them. I wonder if they are here to help us, we DO need a new home. This place is getting a bit... crowded. She read in the dragons mind. She then felt a small shaking. "Did you guys feel that small shaking?". She whispered to Drizzle and the group. The group nodded. She looked at the guard and the other dragons. Could the shaking be a warning of something?. She had a vision. There was a door, above it was a sign that read the word Lab. White flashed. There was a Map on the wall with x's and circles. White flashed again. A caldron appeared again but this time there was a dragons in front of it. White flashed again. Dragons were coming out of the Volcano looking scared and terrified. The vision ended. She shook her head and looked in front of her. There was a tunnel that she knew it led somewhere. "Hey?, where does that tunnel lead?". She asked the guard. "Oh it leads to the Uh... The other rooms, Why?". He told her while pointing to the hallway shaped tunnel. The hallway was large, large enough to fit three fully grown dragons in it. "Is-Is there a Science room here or a Lab here?". She asked the guard. The guard had a look of shock, confusion and something else on his face. "We... Do but it's very..... Private". The guard said to her. Why does she need to know if there is there a Lab here? Is she a scientist? The guard thought while inching away a bit. "Are you a Scientist?". He asked. "Oh no! I'm not but I have my Aunt who is a Scientist and I... Want to see if there is a Lab in here.. To see if Uh". Violet stopped She didn't know what to do. She had gotten this far and now she was stuck on what to do. "She wants to help them and see all the cool equipment you guys have, y'know to learn some new things". Drizzle said from behind her, making her jump. Is she ok? Did she have a panic attack?, was she feeling another vibration?, Did she remember something she had to tell us?... Hmm I wonder what was wrong. Drizzle thought. She knew that she could trust him. He was a good dragon, but would he keep her secret? Or would he tell the group? She got nervous and wondered what the group would think of her, would they leave her?. She was lost in thought until Mist nudged her with her arm. She caught up with the group in the long hallway.

The hallway was curved and a bit long. It felt like she was in her schools hallways but easier. They had reached a few doors in front of them. There were Three doors in front of them. The doors were very large and made of metal with large handles. There were signs on them that had different labels that hung above the doors. The signs were Large and they read: Library, Lab and Hatchery. They looked to be neatly organized with torches lined up by the doors. The guard opened the door to the Lab and there were Three dragons scurrying attending to things. As soon as the door opened they had stopped scurrying and came over to look at the group. One of them carefully poked at the moons on her chest, She winced and pulled away a bit. "Did that hurt you?, I'm sorry, do you need a nurse?". The dragon asked. Oh, I hope they're ok! If I did hurt them I didn't mean it... The Dragon was a Nice Brown Orange color with no Lava inside her. Her underbelly was a lighter Orange color and her wings were a Rusty Red color. Her eyes were a Dark Blue, They were so dark they almost looked Black. "N-no you didn't hurt me it just feels weird when someone touches them". Violet told the Scientist. She looked around the room and saw that it was a Large Square room with Large metal tables melted into the walls. Some of the tables were a bit messy but one of them was neatly organized. The organized one had a bunch of papers stacked onto a desk with bottles of something and a bunch of tools she didn't know about. "What are the papers for?". Lavender asked. "Oh the papers are for calculations like when the next rainstorm or windy skies will be". One of the Scientists explained. Her eyes widened, She had forgotten to tell them about the Volcano. "Is-Is there any calculations on... When the Volcano might explode?...". She asked. One of the Scientists ran towards her. "We cannot talk about that!.....The Volcano has been dormant for hundreds of years!...It won't Erupt for another year!". He yelled at her. She backed away and Drizzle ran towards her. "Are you ok?, Did he hurt you?". Drizzle asked her. She saw Sól take a step towards her. Is she ok? That Webwing cares for her I think...Does she notice?. She's strange but nice, even after I snap at her she still forgives me... Why?. She was surprised but not shocked. She did know because of the acts of kindness that he'd done. The real question was would he try to get closer to her?. "I'm ok Drizzle and no he didn't hurt me". One of the Scientists smacked the one who yelled at her. "SOOT!, You can't just do that!, What if you hurt her or damaged her ears! You also can't yell at her for asking a question, she was curious and asked a question!". She yelled at him. The dragon continued rambling on about hurting dragonets and how innocent and curious she was. She had wandered around for a bit and there was a metal desk with multiple bottles on it. One of the bottles had water in it and it had a fire underneath it with another bottle attached to it. There was Water in the second one that had no fire underneath it. She noticed that the water in the first one was dull and dark with stuff in it while the second one was cleaner and lighter without stuff in it. "What is this for ?". She asked while pointing to it. One of the Scientists came over and checked the water in the second bottle. "This is how we get clean water!, We made an irrigation system to go to a water tower and when we need clean we put the water into these bottles and it comes out clean and into the sinks!". He said while pointing to some pipes and a tub of water that led somewhere. "How do the pipes not melt?". She asked him. "We found this strange metal that can somehow withstand the temperatures of the Volcano. It was Interesting when we first found it but it works". He told her while staring at the water bin. She looked at the other Scientists and saw that they were asking the group questions like how they journeyed here and how they lived. One of the Scientists came over to her and had a board along with an inkwell and feather. "Hello!, Since you're new here I would like to ask some questions about...You". She told her. "Oh.....Ok". She started tapping the board for a moment. "The guard mentioned earlier that you had someone that was a Scientist, Do they experiment on things?". She asked her. "W-Well she has made some potions and some other things?". She told the Scientists. She watched as she picked up the feather and wrote something. "Is she related to your family?". She asked, tapping the feather with now dried ink. "Yes she is my Aunt". She watched as they wrote something down. "Those Moons on your chest are interesting?, Are they a part of you?". She asked. "They are a part of me and they glow a bit when it's dark". She told the Scientist. "What is your name?". She asked the Scientist. "My name is Crumble, What is your name?". Crumble asked her. "My name is Violet". She told Crumble. "Those stars on your wings are they real or painted on?". She asked while spreading Violets wings. "Oh they are real, Every Moonwing has them. Sometimes they come in clusters of stars like my sisters, they're really pretty". She told Crumble. Crumble nodded and wrote something down. She looked up from the board and back down to continue writing. As Crumble was writing something down she had a vision. There was Lava spewing out of the Volcano and dragons holding their dragonets terrified. White flashed. A dragon yelling at all the dragons that she was now their Queen. White flashed. There was Snow and some dens made into the snow with dragons coming out of them. The dragons had feathers and were beautiful colors. White flashed again. Large trees appeared in front of her. Something was in the trees. White flashed again. Before showing her the night sky. But the Night sky was moving. The vision ended. Violet blinked her eyes. She looked up at Crumble. She could feel tears in the corner of her eyes but she blinked them away. "A-are you ok? You look scared of something?". Crumble asked her. "Crumble, can I tell you something?". She asked, keeping her voice at a whisper. "Of course you can tell me something, What is it?". Crumble whispered back. "I can see the future and I just had a vision but...The Volcano exploded... You need to get everyone out of the Volcano". She told Crumble. Crumble looked at her horrified but nodded. B-But The Volcano wasn't supposed to explode for another year! No, now isn't the time, it's time to warm everyone!. She watched as Crumble went to the two Scientists. When Crumble told them they were horrified but nodded. The two of them ran out the door and shut it quickly behind them. She went to join the group. "What did you tell them?, They look like they heard a scavenger was about to steal their treasure". Sól said. "The Volcano is about to...to explode we have to get to the Queen or King and tell them to get the tribe out of this Volcano!". She almost yelled. "I agree if anyone can get a whole tribe to listen it's a King or Queen". Lavender said from behind them. She nodded and they went out the doors.
