Chapter 6

The first day of school with Shinsou was upon us, and I was a little bit nervous. I hadn't gone to the same school as him since the bomb, so it felt foreign to even think that we were going to the same school. I'd already looked over his schedule and we only had three classes together. Our old school was so small that I spent most of my day with him and our other friends.

I had talked to my boyfriends the night before and told them I would walk to school with Shinsou that morning, so he could learn the route. From there, he could either learn to play nice and get rides with me, or he could walk on his own. That was up to him.

The walk was quiet, both of us had our headphones in the entire time. Once the school was in our sights, we stopped our music at almost the same time. It was almost scary how easily we fell into sync with each other. It was crazy, you'd think we'd been best friends for years or something. With our behavior towards each other over the past few months, it was easy to forget that fact.

As we walked into the building, I completely bypassed the front office. The ladies in there were sweet, but pretty unhelpful unless you were tardy or leaving early. Instead, I headed into the locker hall and found the one Shinsou would be using the rest of the year.

"Ta-da," I said in a deadpan voice, waving a hand in front of his locker.

He didn't bother putting in the code, just lifted the handle and it swung open. "Don't keep drugs in my locker, noted. Where's yours?"

I nodded my head a few feet down the hall. "Mine's right there, Ash is one over from mine and everyone else is pretty scattered."

Shinsou nodded, tossing his locker door shut and leaning one shoulder against it. "Easiest way out of here?"

I rolled my eyes because of course skipping is what he was already concerned about. The first bell hadn't even rung yet. "Literally any side door. It's a big campus, there isn't enough staff to be patrolling the halls."

He glanced around, obviously spotting one of the side doors just behind him.

I smacked his chest, forcing him to turn his attention back to me. I was scowling up at him, which I knew wasn't too intimidating, but I had to try. "If I have to get my shit together and graduate on time, so do you."

He rolled his violet eye at me, a smug smile on his lips. "Graduating doesn't require being here every day."

"I'll tell your mom."

"I'll tell yours about the sleepovers."

"I'll tell yours about the pot."

"That would be mutually assured destruction," he pointed out, leaning his head back against the cool metal.

"Fine, I'll tell her about where you really were on that spa trip last semester."

"Well, hello you two little rays of sunshine," Ashido greeted as she walked up to us, one hand on her hip. "It's only eight A.M., why does Mido look ready to strangle you?" She turned her pointed stare to Shinsou.

"He won't let me skip."

Now it was my turn to deal with her stare. "You, of all people?"

I waved her off, a frown (and totally not a pout) on my lips at being called out. "I had a totally reasonable explanation for skipping."

Ashido rolled her eyes, her arms now crossed over her chest. "Your explanation was that you were in love and running."

"Still better than just running."

"What about your boyfriends? They're the poster boys for skipping school," she stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

"They haven't skipped in weeks, that doesn't count."

"Babes, the only classes they go to are the ones you're in."

I blinked at her. "Are you serious?"

She shrugged, throwing a glance over her shoulder to wear the rest of the guys were, surrounding Katsuki's locker. "Seeing as I have most of their other class with them and haven't seen them once this semester, yes."

I groaned and pushed myself off the locker I had been resting on. Eijirou saw me angrily marching towards them first, hitting Katsuki's shoulder and nodding towards me. I didn't return their greetings, just held out a hand. "Phones, please."

Eijirou handed his over right away, out of fear or just because he really didn't care about his phone, I wasn't sure. Katsuki eyed me up and down, his crimson eyes narrowed. "Why?"

"Give it, Kacchan."

"Damn, dude got demoted to Kacchan again," I heard Kaminari whisper to Sero.

Katsuki rolled his eyes but handed his phone over anyway. I scrolled through the blond's apps until I found the one our school uses for online grades. It was easy to navigate and I was soon looking at Katsuki's three-point nine GPA. I didn't say anything as I passed it back. I didn't give a fuck about skipping if he was getting A's anyway.

"Why're you checking our grades?" the blond asked, looking at the app open and then at me.

I said nothing and pulled up Eijirou's app.

"Let's not-" the redhead reached for his phone back, but I pulled it out of his reach. "Iz, c'mon."

I turned my gaze back to him. "You're failing."

"Observant," Eijirou said. "I'm always failing."

"Maybe you wouldn't, if you came to any classes."

"I go to classes!"

"Seventh-hour study hall doesn't count," I snapped at him, forcing the phone back into his hand. "I guess now I know where you found time." Time to break into places and risk getting arrested. Again.

"Iz-"

"Go to all your classes today, Eijirou," I demanded. "Or so help me god, I will lock my window." I could hear the other three guys whispering to each other, but I ignored them.

"We already established I can get around that."

"Shigaraki broke into my house, do you think I haven't figured out how to fortify it?" I asked, my arms crossed and a brow raised. Eijirou Kirishima was going to graduate on time, god damn it. Even if I had to withhold cuddling to achieve it.

"Dude, you should just go to class," Kaminari mumbled, bumping the redhead's shoulder.

"Yeah, he's got a mean right hook when he's pissed," Sero added.

"Stop helping," I snapped at them with a pointed look. "Go to class, get all your missing work, then we're studying after school, got it?"

He nodded just as the first bell rang. I grabbed Katsuki's hand and led him down the hall. Shinsou fell into step on my other side, quiet now that one of my boyfriends was present.

"Ash ratted, didn't she?" Katsuki grumbled.

"You knew he was skipping?" I asked, my voice tight.

"He hadn't even skipped that much, why're you freaking out?"

I relaxed a little, squeezing his hand. "Well, I don't feel quite as shitty now that I know he's lying to both of us." I threw a glance over my shoulder to see his brows knit together in confusion. "Ash said he hasn't been in any of their classes all semester. Neither have you."

"Actually," I said, coming to a dead stop in the hall. I turned to him, dropping his hand. "I'm done with secrets. I'm smoking weed, Ei's smoking cigarettes and he told me last night that he's been breaking into shit again. So yeah, I'm freaking out about the fact he's never in school. Last time it happened, he got the shit beat out of him."

Eijirou was walking past us just as I started my rant. "Well, fuck you too. It was a split lip," he grabbed my chin and placed a hard kiss on my lips. "You're adorable when you're worried."

He walked away just as I regained the ability to think again. "Eijirou Kirishima, if you skip even five minutes of a class today, I will kick your ass myself!" I shouted at his back.

I turned my fuming gaze back to the blond and purple-haired teens in front of me. "Class. We're going." Then I took off towards Mr. Aizawa's classroom without another word.

Ah, this book is just going to be filled with drama and angst and I'm so excited.
